No surprises. The place has a bit of a 'cottage' feel to it. Access to ocean is a short walk. Reasonably well equipped for eating in. Lots options for eating out close by.
We lucked out on this cute property in a hurry to find somewhere to finish our vacation after having to leave Florida due to hurricane Milton. This condo is full of charm and steps to the beach.
We had a great time here. The walls are a nice, cheery yellow and the beds were very comfortable. The a/c unit worked exceptionally well! The location can't be beat- both on the island (close to the biking/walking path) and in regards to the beach. Being on the first floor was great, and I was surprised at the low level of foot traffic around the unit. We were able to enjoy peace and quiet on the patio/balcony in the mornings and evening, and having a view of the pool was great; being able to tell if it was crowded or not without leaving the unit was super helpful! It's also near the bike rack, if you're planning to ride around.
The property was exactly as described and we had a great stay. There were additional amenities not mentioned in the description, such as beach toys and equipment and a few toiletries. One of the sliding patio doors was missing the security bar and the host quickly responded to my message and had someone come install a bar. As a single woman traveling with 2 small children I felt very safe with the visible and friendly security on site. The whole resort has an overall family friendly vibe. Loved the condo, loved the resort amenities, loved thd responsiveness of the owner. I would definitely book again.
Quick responses from owner throughout the week. Closer walk to the beach than we were expecting. Fresh paint throughout. Updates in the bathrooms were nice. Clean where it counted (kitchen and bath). Floors left our feet black. Kitchen came stocked with cleaning supplies, but not enough plates or bowls. Not many cooking bowls or good sized pots. AC did not work well. Overall resort was nice.
We were very happy with the bedroom beds, but the pull out couch was worse than normal. It was nearly broken and we purchased two mattress pads just to make it bearable. The use of the second bedroom with the bunk bed and trundle was the most fabulous use of space I’ve seen in Admirals Row and I wish every unit would do that. There are no ceiling fans. The window coverings in the bedrooms do not block out the hallway lights so bring sleep masks.
The bathrooms have been renovated and were nice with enough linens for the week.
We love staying on the first floor because you don’t have to waste time waiting for the elevator.
The kitchen supplies left a lot to be desired. We cook a lot on vacation and could’ve used more serving bowls, pots, and utensils for cooking. But he did have most of the basics and not everyone would cook as much as we do.
We had hvac issues during the week but Bart was quick to respond about them and got it fixed right away.
Great location walking distance from the beach, great cozy unit and nice balcony to relax. Great fun activities close to the resort as well for families.
Only my second time to Hilton Head and had not been there in about 35 years! Enjoyed our stay with easy access to the beach and enjoyed being right by one of the pools so that we could go down and wait on the kids to join us when they were ready. Owner was very nice and responsive when needed.
During our brief stay in this unit in August, this ground-level property (with busy walkway into building directly in front of small deck), neither of the sets of two sliding glass doors locked. Additionally, the drop-down security bars were broken and/or missing. This is a basic security need. Also, the unit was dated and not completely updated - the outlet in the master bath (by mirror) had an incorrectly placed cover and was inaccessible. And, the (advertised) adjustable-level bed in the primary bedroom was not working. Finally, the unit was not cleaned when we arrived at 4 p.m. After calling the owner and clearing out of the unit for the cleaning person for two hours, we were unable to access the unit until after our dinner reservations at 9:30 p.m., thus making the first afternoon/night in the unit basically non-existent. We can overlook the delay in cleaning (I know many people are experiencing staff shortages since the pandemic) and the other issues within the unit, but we strongly recommend that future renters get assurances that the broken locks and missing security bars on sliding glass doors are fixed prior to booking.
We’ve always enjoyed HH Beach & Tennis club. It offers a lot in one place. The buildings and property are older but mostly kept up making it affordable and many rentals allow you to stay for less than a week which is hard to find elsewhere.
We found this rental sufficient for all our needs this time which included 4 adults and 2 children. The place is updated in some ways and older in others but there was nothing that we couldn’t live with or made us uncomfortable. The beds were comfortable enough and the bathrooms clean with some modern conveniences like a de-frosted vanity light. The kitchen was older but appliances updated and there was enough dishes and pots and pans. We ate dinner out each night so never really used a lot of pans for cooking however. We had a couple issues when we arrived with a dishwasher that was run previously with the wrong detergent and a wasp nest in the corner of the porch but we reported it and it was fixed quickly. Bart was always available to answer any questions. The distance to beach is a reasonable walk and the small pool right close. The small pool has a rough bottom and strong chlorine but we used the big pool mostly which was nice, just short on shade.
We didn't have the opportunity to utilize all the complex had to offer (rained the whole week! bummer...) but overall the complex is clean and kept well organized. Also very convenient for beach access!
