Amazing first trip to the Cape…

We had an amazing first trip to the Cape. Everything was as promised. And, such a quick walk to the beach. Fun was had by all, including our kids and fur baby.

Perfect for 6

What you see, is what you get and then some. Very nice and convenient for pool and beach. We brought an air mattress so we didn’t have to use the pull out couch. Worked great. Had small issue with oven and owners came asap and had us up and running. Very accommodating! Loved everything about our stay!

Needs some love.

The condo is in a great location but really needs a face lift. Condo wasn’t clean upon arrival as if it had sat for awhile. Sofa which is a pull out sinks in when sat on and unfortunately it’s the only place to relax at the end of day. Owner did respond to a disturbing bug situation but it pretty much set the tone of our stay. With tax and insurance this place was 325.00 per night and there are others much more inviting in area.

End of summer trip

Everything was just as it was displayed in the listing! The unit we rented was very well-kept up. It was a short walk to the beach from our unit and the beach was not at all busy like other places we have stayed in the past. The unit had all of the kitchen items that we needed, up-to-date TVs and streaming services, plenty of room for our family plus an additional teenage friend for my daughter. There was a beach supply closet that included chairs etc. which were a lovely thing to have access to as we do not own our own. The shower and hose underneath the condo were perfect for cleaning off before we went inside. There were plenty of linens available including some towels for our medium size dog that we brought with us. I would definitely consider renting this unit again!

Above and Beyond

Our trip was cut short because our new granddaughter decided to come a month early and we had to rush home. However, we loved the property which was beautiful and peaceful. The unit had everything we needed and was very clean. In the hurry to pack, I forgot my pillows. Devi immediately offered to send them to me as a “gift” to the grandparents! Such a kind gesture…wow! Would love to come back and spend a whole week! 😊

Very nice home with great proximity to the beach

We loved this property for many reasons. The home is beautiful and very spacious. It has every utensil in the kitchen you can think of as well as having regular coffee maker and kureg maker. The carport has nice beach chairs, beach cart, and beach toys which made is great. The master bedroom/bathroom is very comfortable and large. And I don't know if it's actually 150 steps to the beach, but its very close and takes about less than 2 minutes to the sand and waves. Wendy is very nice and very timely in her responses to any questions. The ONLY small complaint I may have is the wifi there CONSTANTLY cut out the whole week we were there and kept cutting off my YouTube vids. We will absolutely be staying at Cape Escape again though.

We really did enjoy CSB. We are already saying that we're coming back next summer. Our condo was great and we especially appreciated how stocked it was. The extras like the beach cart for example were so helpful. The walkways and roads were easy to travel and made the beach very accessible. My family met some interesting people and enjoyed our time in Barrier Dunes. There is a very family friendly atmosphere. What we discovered that was the most fun on the beach was that many gathered at dusk and spent the evening hanging out with bonfires and the sunset. We did our grocery shopping in Port St. Joe and made use of the grill on our deck. We tried several good restaurants and eateries on the Cape including Skullys and The Sand Bucket. In Port St. Joe, we enjoyed Peppers for Mexican food and The Sunset Grill for great seafood and steaks. Thank you, Wendy for providing the amazing experience in CSB. Your registration process went very smoothly and you provided every bit of information that we needed to have a successful trip. We will be back!

Barrier Dunes

We had a fantastic time on our Cape Escape :) Barrier Dunes 67 was perfect - fully stocked with everything and anything we could have needed and super clean and comfortable. We really felt at home all week, so much better than staying in a hotel! The location was great, just a short walk to the pools and the beach. And it was so private and quiet, we were thrilled! We also spent some time at the state park beach, both on the bay and the gulf and could not believe how quiet it was. How often do you get a beach virtually to yourself in Florida? Our pup wasn't all that fond of the water, but he did enjoy the beach and meeting all kinds of other dogs. Everything was very clean and the people and dogs were all very friendly. The weather was perfect, we enjoyed shelling, snorkeling and kayaking on the bay. The sunsets were beautiful and we even got to see some dolphins. One night we drove into Apalachicola for dinner (the Owl Café was fabulous). It was just a very relaxing vacation and we will definitely be back next year!

Barrier Dunes

Our experience was great. Cape San Blas is truly lovely. The miles of open beach makes for great strolls up and down the peninsula. Our dog loved going in and out of the water and rolling in the sand. There is so much to do including bike rides, horseback riding, canoe/kayak rides, and much more. It is a great spot to bring your dog as well. Barrier Dunes is a fantastic facility. It was fully stocked with so many of the things from home so just getting there was the hard part. Wendy prepared us for what to bring and what was there for us. The whole process was very easy. My family and I would go there anytime!

Loved Our Stay - Can't Wait to Return

Thanks for your email! We LOVED our stay! It was hard to leave! This was the first time we traveled with our pups! It was great to see all the pet owners walk their dogs throughout the complex. We enjoyed our time with like-minded pet owners on the beach. One of our pups even made a friend with the dog of a family sitting next to us! We enjoyed the privacy of Port St Joe as we do not care for the high rise condos and commercial hotels. Loved the morning walks through the state park next door! We can't wait to return and would love to book 416 Barriers Dunes as it was very convenient to get to and from the beach!

"Cape by the Ocean"

Wendy and The Cape Escape are the very best way to have a rewarding, no worry vacation. She provides it all! If staying in the most comfort and a hassle free mentality sound like vacation, stay with no one else other than Wendy Jacskon! She is honest, fun and treats each family that books with her, like family of her own. My family has booked with Wendy more and more over the years and will continue doing so, no hesitation in mind. This is the way to make like easy until you are able to move to The Cape and make it "forever", book with Wendy Jackson and life relaxing on the beach is now ~easy~ and more like vacation should be!!! :)

Great easy get away!

Easy trip! Great stay. Price was very doable. We had everything we needed to cook nice meals for our selves. There was an outdoor shower that made clean up a breeze. It was a pretty easy walk through the complex to the beach. And if the ocean freaks you out for swimming, there's a pool (maybe 2, but we like the ocean!).

We fell in love with Cape San Blas our very first visit! We didn't even know it was a pet-friendly beach at the time and we've always had dogs and been dog lovers!

At the end of about 2 years we ended up owning 3 properties, all in Barrier Dunes, and were discovering more we loved about the Cape every trip! Our kids starting going to Cape San Blas when there were 4 and 6 and both are now college graduates. I look forward to enjoying the Cape with their families when the time comes!

When I started renting, I was a mom of young kids and realized it was a LOT of work to get ready for vacation, so I try to make it as easy as possible for folks renting with Cape Escape Vacation Rentals. I provide everything from beach chairs down to the little things you want when you're on vacation from trash bags to laundry detergent and pet-towels and LOTS in between. I also try to communicate as many details as possible before your vacation and provide a very complete guest information book about the area once you arrive so you don't have to do the research!

Some of our favorite things to do are: Bonfires at the beach after sunset, scalloping in the bay, kayaking, Indian Pass Raw Bar to enjoy oysters, crab legs & steam shrimp as well as great local music and company, a day poking around the stores (and eating) in Apalachicola many things!

I look forward to having you enjoy a Cape Escape soon!
