Charming 3-Bedroom Lakefront Retreat on Wind Lake!

Escape to this beautifully updated lakefront home on Wind Lake, a 936+ acre all-sports lake. Whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation, this inviting getaway offers the perfect setting for an unforgettable stay. With your own private pier and sandy shoreline, you can swim, fish, kayak, or simply unwind while taking in the breathtaking western-facing sunsets from our signature red bench.

We take pride in providing a clean, modern, and comfortable vacation home for you and your family. Our cottage offers the peaceful charm of an “up north” retreat with the added convenience of being just a short drive from Metro Milwaukee and Chicago.

Inside the Home:
• A fully equipped eat-in kitchen with a modern gas stove/oven, refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, toaster, cookware, and pantry essentials. Enjoy stunning lake views from the oversized dinette windows!
• Main-floor, full-size washer and dryer (detergent & dryer sheets provided).
• Fresh bed linens and all essentials provided—just arrive and relax!
• Wi-Fi, a smart TV, and a movie library for indoor entertainment. Prefer to unplug? We’ve got board games, puzzles, and cards too!

Outdoor Fun & Relaxation:
• 50+ feet of sandy lake frontage, perfect for swimming, with easy shoreline access.
• Two kayaks and a stand-up paddleboard (SUP) included, plus nearby boat rentals. Bringing a boat of your own? Feel free to dock at our private pier.
• Screened-in porch for bug-free evenings, plus a cozy fire pit to gather around.
• Lawn games like croquet, bocce ball, horseshoes, and bags to keep the fun going!

Girls Weekend
This was the perfect location for a girls weekend. We stayed in on Friday night. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meal and then we enjoyed hanging out on the screened in porch. Hung out a lot in the living room the rest of the weekend. It’s spacious and cozy! The host checked in with us and I’m sure she would’ve been easily accessible had we needed anything.

A lovely stay!
A group of us stayed here to celebrate a couple birthdays and it was lovely! Sara left some birthday decorations, which was so sweet! The home was clean and thoughtfully curated. There were plenty of water activities in the storage shed, which was super clean too. No spider webs or anything to keep you from wanting to get in there. :) The water is so clean and clear- perfect for wading, swimming, floating, kayaking, etc. It is an all-sports lake, but we weren’t ever bothered by the other lake-goers. We spent our days on the water and our evenings watching the amazing sunsets from the dock and the screened in porch! Just a couple things we thought could have been better. The picturesque views from the photos weren’t quite as nice for us, as there was a large boat docked right next to the red bench. Not a deal breaker, but we were looking forward to some pictures together on the dock and the boat made it difficult. It would also be really nice to add another couch or a couple extra comfy chairs in the living room. It was hard to find a space for all 5 of us to relax together comfortably. Just keep that in mind if you’re coming with a bigger group. Overall, we loved our stay! Thank you!

Perfect Family Vacation Spot!
This home has it all. We had grandkids from ages 3 to 19 with us. They were in the water the whole time we were there. The sandy lake is shallow for quite a ways, so we didn’t have to worry about the littles going out too far. There were plenty of life jackets in various sizes. The paddle board and kayaks were perfect for everyone. Even the 7 year old could kayak! Fishing off the pier in the early evening was a big hit. Our 3 year old caught a tiny little fish :) The house itself is clean and well stocked. The living room is large and the extra folding table was a bonus because it held a lot of our arts and crafts and various things. The host was very nice and available for questions at all times. We had an absolutely wonderful time and all the kids can’t wait to come back again next year.

The lakefront cozy cottage was fantastic; lovely home on a beautiful lake. Though we didn’t use the lake, the dock was a great place for bird watching, and viewing the sunset. Inside the extremely clean and serene cottage; there were all the amenities needed for a relaxing family weekend. Highly recommend!

Nice, updated, clean home on the beautiful lake. Well stocked kitchen(snacks and K-cups included) and bathroom. Comfortable beds and linens. More seating in the living room is needed. We didn't use the beach area much, but it looks like there are a lot of nice supplies to enjoy the beach and large, well kept yard. We would stay here again.

My family enjoyed our stay. We had little ones that had room to run both inside and out. The cute little porch was perfect due to the blustery weather. A wonderful home and a great host
The Red Bench Cabin was a lovely experience. The host, Sara was extremely accommodating. My wife and I traveled with a toddler and she was extremely helpful and conscientious. All of the outlets were covered, the stove was 'toddler proofed' despite the best efforts of my son, and she even brought in toys and books. This was one of the highlights because he was able to play with new toys and we were able to relax. It was a great visit.

Another Great Stay
Renting this house on the lake from Sara has slowing become one of our family traditions. Great place to make good memories. Sitting by the lake making a comp fire one night was great, another sitting in her large screened in room playing board while it was raining was also a big plus. We will probably rent again next year.

Great Lakefront Stay!!
We had a great stay with our family - the house is well-appointed with everything you need. The yard is huge, the shoreline is very family friendly - shallow and a clean bottom lake, great for small kids swimming and playing. The hosts were amazing - extremely responsive, offering to help and checking in to make sure we had anything we need. We would love to come back again!

We take great pride in offering a clean, modern and comfortable vacation home for you and your family to stay while enjoying the lake and visiting the surrounding Metro-Milwaukee area.

Our lakefront cottage combines a peaceful and enjoyable "up north" setting yet provides easy access to many attractions in the greater-Milwaukee and Chicago areas.
