Family trip

Great location with easy walk to town. Lots of room for whole family. Everyone/room had their own bathroom. Beds were comfortable and nice hotel quality towels and linens. Older home with good size comfortably front porch. Bathrooms and outside walkway/steps could use updating.

The good and the bad

The house was in an absolutely perfect location and loved that each room had its own bathroom. There was plenty of space for our large group to spread out. However, the home needs quite a bit of maintenance. It was extremely humid. The pictures on the walls are bowed and bent from being wet. Towels never dry and the beds just feel wet all the time. The kitchen was poorly equipped so we had to buy quite a few kitchen basics to cook with. Some interior doors were very difficult to open and the door knobs are coming off on a couple as well. A few of the bathrooms need to be completely gutted.

Great spot for a large group

We had a total of nine people (which includes a 10 month baby). The House was charming on a quiet street locally within easy walking distance of downtown Bar Harbor, grocery store etc. We spent six nights. Best part of house other than location was open living spaces, porch etc. The kitchen is was fine, but nothing special. Bathrooms (at least three of the six) need serious upgrade. The side entrance is a bit awkward with the step up and step down that does not have a hand rail or adequate lightning, but is manageable once you are familiar with it. There was also a not of instruction on the heating units and they did not work in every room. The jets in the tub in one of the rooms also did not work. This was our first time in Acadia. I am sure we will be back. While I would certainly consider staying here again, now that I am familiar with the town, I would also look to see other large group options and available.

Great location

Wonderful location for a large group. The hang out areas are big enough for our group of 8 adults and 2 kids. The washer and dryer should be functional for a group this large staying a week and for the cost.

Great Location nice place

This was a typical older home in downtown. It has a full bathroom for every room, which was a nice bonus. Great location, full grocery store a block away, in fact the entire town is within walking distance. The kitchen is small, but fully equipped and no problem when we cooked for entire family. There is a back patio with a bbq grill and table that seats 6 or you could squeeze in 8, this is not currently pictured. There is room for 4 cars in the driveway, which is another good bonus. We could have used a few fans as a couple of the nights it got hot and there is no air conditioning. It was reasonably clean, however the deck needed a good scrub and there were a few things that could of been a bit cleaner, however it was no problem at all. I would stay there again.

This was an excellent location and a nice Victorian Home.

Overall nice place to stay. It was nice to have bathrooms in every bedroom and there were plenty of needed Kitchen Supplies and Bathroom necessities. Also was nice to have sheets and towels included.

Love the house and location! Management team easy to connect with, she responded very quickly to any text messages. We stayed for 4 days so we didn’t really use the kitchen but notice no serving Dishware for family style dinner’s and knives are not very sharp or full set.

Bar Harbor

Entry to the house. Is on the side and not safe in my opinion. Outside lighting is poor and stone steps are not secure. Entry is by basement and is spooky looking. Entry to home should be through front door. Got locked out once as keyless entry would not work. Called owner and there is a lever on the inside of the door that must be horizontal to activate. Had to climb up outside stairs (supported by 2×4's) to gain access. The owner was very Good about answering and ensuring that we got in.. Old decor inside needs updating. A few pictures had mold growing behind the glass. Mold in some of the bathrooms too. Refrigerator did not dispense water from the door, only ice. While we were aware that the house was older, we were disappointed in the condition.

House is old, need updates. Bathrooms & electrical.

House is big sleeps a lot of people. Could have been a lot cleaner. Best part of the house was the location, & being able to walk to town. House is not easy access for seniors or handicap.

Great space for a terrific extended family excursion.

Great location and space for 9 adults and 3 small children. The kitchen needs to be better equipped for those who cook. Two burners on the stove top turned off while cooking. One twice. The bathrooms need to be updated. There was a leak thru the kitchen ceiling from one of the baths. But.... we had a great time and enjoyed our time in Bar Harbor.

Great location

We were a group of 12 traveling to experience the wonders of Acadia NP and to get away for a week. The location of the house cannot be beat. You can walk easily into town, walk to catch the shuttle into the Park and walk to the waterfront. Those renting this property need to understand that this is an old house and does have some quirks. Expect that the wood floors will creek, and the plumbing will be slow but it was a great place for our group. The dishwasher did not adequately wash the dishes so we just hand washed them. All in all we had a great time and enjoyed our stay.

Convenient location to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park

We had a great time visiting Acadia. The house had plenty of room for all of us with enough seating, comfortable beds, and plenty of towels. However, the next day we noticed water dripping from the ceiling of the kitchen, when one of us was showering. We called the Property Manager, who said she would send in a Plumber. On further inspection, that area looked like a previous leak was patched up. After calling the leak in, we all (except for my husband) stepped out to visit Acadia. The Property Manager called me back only to yell and blame us for the leak. She said that we were not pulling the shower curtain closed when showering to prevent the water from splashing out of the tub. She also threatened us that she would charge us for the Plumber’s visit. My husband who had stayed back had a chat with Plumber. The Plumber informed him that the shower curtain was not water proof, so the water was going through the curtain onto the bathroom floor. Obviously, the water was leaking through the floor tiles onto the kitchen ceiling which was below. I took pictures of the ceiling, in case there was any backlash from the renter. The kitchen in this house is not fully equipped. It does have a functioning stove, microwave and refrigerator, but lacks sufficient cooking utensils, serving dishes/bowls, cutlery and plates. We had to buy some disposable dishes to serve food and paper plates and disposable cutlery. A fun stay marred by the leaking ceiling and a rude Manager!

Great location

This is a comfortable, roomy, slightly worn house in a fabulous location right in town. Some of the bathrooms are in need of updating. We had a toilet stop working while we were there. The property manager was fairly helpful and responsive but it still resulted in having to spend time on 2 consecutive days waiting for a handyman to arrive. Not something you want to spend your vacation doing.

Great location, but house should have been cleaner

Plus: Amazing location, walkable to downtown. Spacious rooms for extended family. Negatives: kitchen hadn’t been cleaned we had to scour fridge before we would put our food in it and handles to fridge door we’re even grosser. Garbage from prior renters was not picked up and an animal got into it - called maintenance contact to clean it up and they did not come to pick it up). TV remotes didn’t work (even after we put new batteries). Toilets ran and kept guests in two rooms up all night...called handy man who said he did best he could but didn't fix problem! If they can get a better house cleaner the location and space is great for big groups, but note that the house could use some updating, particularly bathrooms.

First Trip to Bar Harbor

Location was great! Walking distance to most restaurants & downtown shops. Home was clean & lovely. Loved the front porch swing. Upstairs bathrooms maintain the original style of the home but showers are cramped for average or large person & a fall risk for Seniors. Do not recommend this home for seniors due to stairs & bath facilities upstairs. Overall we had a pleasant stay!
