River Dream Cottage is nestled on a 5 acre wooded lot on the Lincoln river. It features a private yet convenient location, a fire pit with views of the night sky, a small spring fed creek and 212 feet of rustic river frontage.

Bedroom #1 offers a queen bed, TV with DIRECTV, ceiling fan and electric heat
Bedroom #2 has a twin bunk bed (sleeps 2) and electric heat
Living room includes a full sleeper sofa (sleeps 2) and a TV with DIRECTV
Bathroom has a tub with shower, electric heat and a washer & dryer
Kitchen includes an island with seating, dishwasher, electric stove, microwave, refrigerator, and cabinets stocked with dishes, cookware and many extras for guests who enjoy cooking
3-seasons room has comfortable seating and a small table w/4 chairs
A small outdoor patio has a picnic table and a gas cooking grill (propane provided)

New in 2023 - access to the Lincoln river by way of a woodchip defined path through the woods! It is approximately 200 steps to a small footbridge over a spring fed creek, then an additional 200 steps to a boardwalk with a floating dock on the Lincoln river. There are 4 kayaks on a stand by the river access. By making land management and accessibility to the natural beauty of the property a priority, our guests are now able to enjoy nature in a unique way. The land provides a serene setting for kayaking, bird watching and often catching a glimpse of a white-tailed deer!

Perfect Fall getaway

This is my fifth year staying at the cottage and it’s definitely my favorite place ever to vacation. It’s the perfect location, charming and has everything you need. The walk to the river is so pretty, watching the deer everyday come into the yard is always something I love. The weather was amazing, it was great being outside all afternoon. Already looking forward to next year.

Another great stay!

This is the second time that we've stayed at this cottage. It's a great location- where it feels like you're getting away from it all but it's also not far from town. The property is clean and well accommodated and host is super responsive and helpful. Thanks for another wonderful stay!

Annual Salmon Fishing Vacation

This is our fourth year staying at the River Dream Cottage. The owners are great people and very accommodating. The cottage is out of town by just a couple of miles. It is a great place to stay. We will be back next year. Thank you Bernadine!

Perfect relaxing get away

Just what we were looking for! Peace & quiet in a remote spot, still close to town and things to do. Loved the sun porch, and the path to the river/lake. Love that kayaks were available to use, and that we did. She really has thought of everything you could need/want. Would recommend and would definitely come back! Thanks for everything.

Happy Place!

The property is beautiful and the house extremely comfortable. It is very convenient to activities and places to see along with restaurants. Or, the kitchen has everything needed plus a gas grill is available if you prefer to cook. Top on my list is comfortable beds and these are. Bernadette responded promptly to any questions and when the coffee maker malfunctioned a new one was delivered within a couple of hours. This would be a great place for kids as the grounds are huge and after a day at the beach they can come back and run around some more. Or play one of the many inside games available. River Dream Cottage gets 10 / 5 stars from us!

Perfect Hideaway!!

Love love love the location. So close to all the amenities, but perfectly secluded in the woods. We loved relaxing and enjoying nature in peace and quiet. Location is perfect to Stearns beach and to the State park. Excellent area for biking and kayaking. The home is very clean and well equipped. The host was wonderful at answering any questions we had. Summer Fun

The cottage and property were perfect for our family of three, with extra room to spare. The location made for a short drive to everything in Ludington - the City Beach, State Park, downtown, and grocery shopping. The cottage was well-stocked with everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. The host was very responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful ludington getaway!

The property was cleaned very well upon our arrival and the location was just perfect. Our family has been visiting ludington since the 60s primarily staying in the state park. This place was the best of both worlds. You’re only a couple minutes from downtown ludington as well as the state park. Not to mention, you could just relax all day, every day at the cabin if you wanted to. Great place to stay!

House was updated and very clean. If you are looking for a place to stay that is private this house is great. Also surrounded by the woods. Great to sit out side and enjoy nature.

Beautiful cottage - with caveat

Cottage/property were beautiful. Clean & nicely furnished beach cottage. They have thought of everything you might need on your stay - cleaning/laundry products, dishes/cookware, lawn chairs. Towels were huge,fluffy & there were TONS of them. Biggest caveats are the lack of ac (which we knew) & lack of wifi/cell signal. We were not uncomfortable without air, but it didn't get above high 70's the entire time we were there. That being said, I probably wouldn't book it again because of that, not wanting to take a chance on warmer temps. The other caveat that I didn't even think of prior to our visit is no wifi. We are not glued to our phones, however there ARE things you need them for. We prefer to look up menus, hours, etc of local businesses. We have security cameras at home as well as in the home of my elderly mother who lives alone. We did not realize that we would not be able to monitor those things. And most importantly, there were some pretty bad storms go through while we were there. The satellite TV went out as soon as it started raining, no way to get news/weather updates via TV. With no wifi and spotty cell service (we have Verizon) we had no way to monitor watches/warnings in an area we were unfamiliar with. We literally packed up and went to a hotel so that we could monitor weather conditions. Aside from those two things, the property was beautiful and we enjoyed it immensely. But I will definitely watch for those amenities when booking in the future.

Cute Little Cottage

This cottage is on a really nice property close to downtown Ludington! There was a walking path down to the water, and the owner had kayaks provided. It was very clean and had everything we needed. I loved the sunporch!

Nice country home experience

Nice very private woods and lake home. 1 Mile from Lake Michigan and 2 miles from downtown Ludington. Clean linens with a comfortable bed and pillows. Short walk through woods to a nice quiet lake. Basic Direct TV, no WiFi, Only bedroom and bathroom wall heaters that were working (temps were in the 40's at night). We were warned of "Ticks" and they were everywhere!!!!...Beware.

Beautiful cabin on ample and private property, close to so much. Such a great fit for our young kids to be able to run and play safely! We have been 4 years in a row, can’t wait to be back.

Incredible find!

We loved everything about this place. It was immaculate, fully provisioned with everything we might need AND had kayaks and life jackets. Lots of wildlife (including ticks, so be careful!) surrounded us. This place is a bike ride away (5 miles) from Ludington State Park. Easy communication with the host. Thank you!

River Dream

We enjoyed our week here. Appreciated how clean the house was, having the selection of spices in the small pantry (and, the pantry itself), the lovely, soft bath towels and especially enjoyed sitting on the sun porch. The house is smallish, but is tastefully furnished and there are many small touches throughout that indicate the owners understand and appreciate having renters. We recommend a visit to River Dream Cottage.

Very nice property, very clean. We had all the amenities we needed to cook with and to enjoy ourselves. The weather wasn't great, but we did walk out on the trail to the lake. We hope to take kayaks out if we have a chance to return.

Another amazing stay!

River Dream Cottage has been my yearly place to stay for several years now. I always look forward to the week I am there and love everything about it. Despite a little rain this week I was able to get outside everyday and it’s such a cozy place to come back to and watch movies, read, have a fire or just relax. The trail to the river is so amazing and such gorgeous views complete with kayaks. It’s so hard to pack up and leave. It holds a special place in my heart!

Cabin in the woods

Had a great stay at this little cabin. Very clean, nice amenities. Cabin is shaded for most of the day, keeping the house nice and cool during the day. Highly recommend and would rent again in a heartbeat.

We had a lovely stay in Ludington. Your home had everything we needed. The queen size bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed a campfire in the fire pit. The walk through the woods to Lincoln Lake was delightful. It is a short drive to Ludington State Park. We enjoyed 2 beautiful Lake Michigan sunsets. We hope to stay in your home again.
