You will love staying here with Stacy! My husband, two kids and I stayed here for 7 nights during the heatwave in July. Stacy is such a welcoming, available host. The property is located 1 block from the Max light rail train. You can come here straight from the airport, if flying in. If driving, there is ample off street parking-you never need to worry about finding a parking space. Her home itself is lovely: the space is sparkling clean and everything is brand new. There are very few windows because this is a basement. I thought it may feel claustrophobic and that it would be musty, but Lux lava lounge is the opposite. The air was very fresh and due to being underground, always a pleasant temperature. There are no windows to sit and look out of, but we were busy all day, so that did not matter to us. Plus, her backyard is available--beautiful, private and quiet. One day hit the upper 90's, so Stacy put the A/C on, which was a nice treat-but not necessary. The kitchen is very well-appointed, if you enjoy cooking you will have everything you'll need. We primarily just cooked breakfast and ate out at one of the many delicious restaurants in Portland. This particular section/neighborhood of Portland is called Kenton. The downtown of the Kenton is 2-3 blocks away--a very short walk to excellent restaurants and coffee shops. Staying at Stacy's property is a perfect respite from the busy big city. Two things to be aware of: One, there were always 4-6 homeless people between her house and the Max rail. They caused no problems that we saw, but if you are looking for an upscale area this may not be for you. Kenton is a more up-and-coming neighborhood. Also, due to being in the basement, you can hear every step (and at times Stacy's conversations!) from above. If you are a light sleeper, or like to sleep in, this is something to think about. Her hours matched ours fairly well, so it was rarely an issue. Having a fan on (located in a closet) for noise-masking & earplugs was a good solution for us--3/4 of us are VERY light sleepers. That said, we LOVED staying at the Lux Lounge! It was a cozy place to come home to each day. My daughter may be attending college in Portland, and if she does, this would be first on our list as a place to stay for visits!!
