This was the perfect place to stay to attend a wedding at The Orchard. The view of Mt. Hood from the deck was a fabulous place to drink coffee. The property is quiet and peaceful. Parkdale restaurants and the coffee shop are great. Will stay again.

Peaceful Parkdale Gem

We came to watch the meteor shower from a dark and quiet location, and this lovely home did not disappoint. The house was immaculate, with a marvelous array of old photos, art, and literature (including wonderful plant guides and cookbooks). The property sits on a grassy hillside, with a well-placed firepit at one end. The rest of the property is densely wooded. Although there is a creek at the bottom of the property (which makes a delightful sound), the trail to get there is overgrown in spots and can be a bit tricky to navigate. That said, we loved all the birdlife, the raspberry and veggie garden, and the gorgeous flowers and lavender. The owner, Marketa, was a joy to work with. Our only real criticism, and this is a matter of taste, is that the beds were a little on the soft side, but overall this place is a real winner. The breathtaking local views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams are truly unbeatable.

Great family home

We enjoyed a long weekend with our family- a great home for kids! Large deck, huge yards for kids to run and play, separate living space upstairs and downstairs convenient once kids went to bed. A well-appointed kitchen made cooking a breeze!

Perfect

Such a great home and an awesome piece of land...horses, cherry trees, gardens, hammocks, peace and quiet. Marketa was a great host. There was a welcome sign out front and a bottle of wine on the table. Beds super comfy! House is super roomy. We will certainly stay here again

Roomy, comfortable home on beautiful property in a stunning location

Our family of 5 had a lovely get-away at this memorable property. The split-level layout allowed everyone to have space to relax and pass the time. There are multiple outdoor seating areas for reading, visiting, and napping, while enjoying the view. The dining area on the deck is a wonderful option, with the view of Mt. Hood as a spectacular backdrop. Thank you so much to our thoughtful hostess, who provided timely and detailed information on all the amenities at the property, as well as activities in the area. The bottle of wine was a wonderful welcome gift. We definitely hope to return.

Everything was wonderful. We were looking for a place that was serene and peaceful! This was it!

Cooper Spur cabin was roomy enough for six adults without feeling cramped. I loved the comfortable furnishings and the way it was decorated with antique items. The large rear deck had a great view and was a favorite place to hang out. We didn’t hear anything except the birds and the stream in the property. Just the kind of place we were looking for! A bottle of wine was waiting to greet us when we arrived! I cannot think of anything that could have been improved. We would definitely stay there again!

This cabin is wonderful. It's in a peaceful and quiet setting on a beautiful piece of land.

We had a wonderful experience staying here! Our family stayed over the New Year weekend. When we arrived there was a nice bottle of wine to greet us and the cabin was clean and fully stocked with everything we could need for our weekend. There is a mud room when you first walk in and that is so nice to be able to put snow clothes and boots before entering the main part of the home. We cooked meals in the kitchen and ate dinner together for each meal. Downstairs there was a beautiful fireplace with firewood readily available. We did have a nice fire in the fireplace to warm us up after being on the slopes. We snowboarded at Timberline lodge and it was not too far of a drive from the cabin. Parkdale is a very quaint community and the grocery store had anything we forgot to get when shopping in Portland. This cabin is well cared for and very comfortable for our family with 3 small children. We appreciate being able to stay here and look forward to staying again in the future!

My family and I had a wonderful Labor Day weekend at the foot of Mount Hood. My youngest daughter got married, and we enjoyed the company of some close friends. Cooper Spur Cabin was the perfect accommodation.

Lovely lodging with scenic views.

We visited eastern Oregon from our home on the Hawaiian island of Maui for the total solar eclipse and stayed at the Cooper Spur cabin after for a few days of R and R. We loved the setting and change of pace.

So comfortable, beautiful and full of taste!

This cabin is gorgeous inside and out, spacious and so comfortable! Great beds, well-stocked, open kitchen and den-like TV room. Stayed cool in the heat of the day, and though we were here in summer I imagine that all the wood burning fire place and stove keeps everything cozy and warm in the winter. View from the deck is magic, and the surrounding area stunningly beautiful. And the owners clearly have excellent taste, as the movies, books and art on the walls were the nicest I've ever seen in a vacation rental. So many lovely etchings, as a printmaker and artist it made my day! My family loved it, and only wished we had longer to spend there. Thank you so much!

Incredible location with great views and easy access to lots of hikes.

Absolutely perfect. Pictures don't do justice to the views of Mt Hood. Great cabin with all you need and also easy access to amazing hikes. Had two small children and they loved it as well. Really didn't want to leave. Highly recommend.

A house with a (great) view

We loved our stay in this lovely house. Marketa was very communicative, and thoughtfully left a bottle of wine for my friends and me to enjoy upon arrival. The house was well equipped with guides for local hikes, and the view from the deck is simply beautiful. The beds are very comfortable and the house provided a wonderful launching point for daily excursions. I highly recommend this as a destination.

Beautiful cabin, beautiful setting, all the amenities

We stayed in Parkdale recently when we attended our daughter's wedding in Hood River. The cabin was beautiful and very comfortable (although the downstairs was a little on the cool side for the first couple of very rainy days). All in all, it was clear that the owners had put a lot of thought into the comfort of their guests. There is a notebook full of information about things to do in the area (which we made great use of). There was even a welcoming gift of a bottle of red wine on the counter when we walked in. We shared the cabin with friends and enjoyed having communal meals in the spacious kitchen and playing charades downstairs in the evening. Once the sun came out (the day of the wedding, yay!), the view of Mount Hood from the deck was spectacular. We would definitely stay here again.

Very comfortable house in beautiful location

We came from the Netherlands to visit our daughter studying in Oregon. We spent Christmas here, surrounded by white mountains and woods. The house fully met our expectations, very cosy with lots of wood, fireplaces and also a lot of space with comfortable couches! We played games inside and went skiing outside, downhill and crosscountry and made nice walks. The view on Mount Hood from the house is spectacular. I would recommend the house! A very special place!

Wonderful Winter Wonderland stay!

We recently had a great time in Parkdale. Plenty of snow and still no trouble getting in and out of the driveway. Lots of firewood that kept the fireplace warm and toasty. Very clean cabin and Marketa was a pleasure to work with!

Beautiful quiet escape

4 friends gathered for a weekend reunion- this house was perfect! It is a peaceful and beautiful space, with lots of natural light, soaring ceilings, and comfortable and ample gathering spots. We enjoyed cooking in the fully equipped kitchen, catching up over the generous kitchen table, then lounging downstairs. We needed four separate bedrooms and there they were, with quality mattresses and bedding. It was too rainy to spend a lot of time in the outdoor seating areas but we definitely would have been there in warmer/ sunnier weather. It is 16 miles out of town in the orchards....that much closer to Cooper Spur! We enjoyed a soak at Bonneville Resort, stopping for lunch and fish at Cascade Locks, checking out all the fruit stands and cider tasting and etc. along the "fruit loop." Great grocery store in Parkdale and eating out options in Hood River. I was admiring how the "mud room" entry way would be perfect for hanging everything up to dry after skiing. The Gorge is beautiful in every weather. We would definitely go again.

Beautiful stay in the country

We stayed here with 2 seniors, 2 adults and 2 kids. Everyone had an amazing time. There are goats and horses nearby, a stream to splash in. The house was perfect, with a big bedroom on the main floor, perfect for seniors who don't want to tackle stairs. The rest of the bedrooms were all very comfortable, and stayed cool despite the heat since they were downstairs. Kitchen was large and well stocked. Marketa was great to work with, and had good attention to detail. I would highly recommend this place especially to families or mixed age groups.

Fantastic place to enjoy Mt. Hood

The house is just as pictured, with beautiful views in a serene and bucolic setting. Mt. Hood and its hiking are a short drive away, as are the Columbia River and all of the fun there. Fruit farms on all sides, very quiet at night, and very dark - great stargazing. Well-appointed kitchen made cooking easy and enjoyable. Marketa was very responsive and helpful, and everything was pretty seamless. Highly recommend!

Great place!

We loved this place! The house is great-- spacious, sunny, clean, nice layout with comfortable beds. There's so much to do right close by, and the hosts had loads of great recommendations. The view of Mt Hood from the house and yard is spectacular. We will definitely be back, and probably with friends since the house is plenty big enough for two families.

Wonderful Weekend

Where does one start to describe this place? Creek in the backyard? Decks with great views? Tranquil setting in pastures and orchards? Incredibly clean, comfortable and completely set up two story home? Well, I don't know where to begin this except to say what a wonderful, relaxing and fun Fathers Day I got to spend with my daughter and grandchildren. Thank You so much. In actuality there are just not enough words to express how a grandfather feels after a weekend like this. David L Smedley

Cozy cabin in a gorgeous location at the foothills of Mt. Hood

We rented the cabin for a long weekend and had a wonderful stay! It easily accommodated our group of 7 (4 adults, 3 kids) plus 2 dogs. The kitchen was tidy and well stocked. We enjoyed the variety of the outside space: big deck, nice big lawn in front, evergreens and a small creek in the back. The host was very responsive to our questions prior to arrival and made us feel welcomed with thoughtful touches like a welcome note on a small blackboard outside. The "piece de resistance", so to speak, is the setting. Hard to say whether it's the mountain views, the location within the orchards, or the tranquility of the area, but it felt unique and hard to top on a clear skies day.

Wonderful Cabin

We had a great long weekend. The cabin is cozy and friendly, very clean, and has everything that we could have possibly have needed. It is located in a beautiful spot, perfect for winter or summer activities, close to the mountain for skiing and hiking and close to Hood River and the gorge. The host is very attentive and super helpful.

We're a family of 5 that loves the outdoors in all seasons. This is our second home and we are happy that you may enjoy it as well. Parkdale is magical.

Why they chose this property

We chose this spot in Parkdale because it has everything we were looking for - a close get-away, big views, plenty of greenery and the openess. We love its proximity to both alpine and nordic skiing, hiking and swimming. We know this home will provide a place for family gatherings throughout the years to come!

What makes this property unique

A few reasons why we love Cooper Spur Cabin -- Sip your morning coffee and look up at Mount Hood. Enjoy the cherries in July. Relax by the wood burning stove and watch the snow fall.
