Good location, house has basic necessities, but showing its age. No shampoo or laundry detergent. Parking sufficient.
Beach access currently difficult as lake has grown to block path to beach, need to walk around to 26th stairs.
No beach access the only disappointment-wonderful home
We had a wonderful vacation with our granddaughters. One of our granddaughters stayed in the room that was connected to her mother's so that worked for us. We appreciated the beautiful views and the well appointed kitchen.
Beach house was a perfect place for me and my sisters. We had reminiscing to do. The patio and hot tub were the perfect settings.
House was roomy. Bedrooms were clean. We loved watching people and their dogs run the beach.
It was a memorable time for us.
Plenty of room for 7 adults. We cooked daily breakfasts and most dinners, and the kitchen was very well-stocked. Good communication with property manager. Great location and fantastic views. Thanks for a great base for our family vacation!
Our family had a wonderful stay! The place has everything we needed and was perfect for a family beach vacation! The close access to the beach was perfect for the kids! The host was so kind and responsive! Thank you for a wonderful trip!
This lovely house is located next to a nice beach, with gorgeous views. The large master bedroom is very comfortable and the two additional bedrooms are also lovely, with great views. Many restaurants nearby.
We visited from France and were looking to relax and experience Santa Cruz beach life. We had great weather and the house was perfect for our group of 6: spacious, well appointed and location location location!
A wonderful week of cloudless skies and beautiful sunsets. Plenty of sea life on the rocks at low tide. Bike path all the way to Capitola Village to the south and Natural Bridges to the north. Best part is just sitting on the deck and going no where.
The view and the beach are fantastic. The third bedroom upstairs is as some have described, very small with a funky high bed but perfectly fine for sleeping -- good for a set of older kids or a couple without kids. Manager says the hot tub is coming soon, and that would be a great addition to the property. Only thing that would improve this rental is the ability to check out later -- being out by 10:30 am is rough.

In a pinch
After rental issues, our host was quick to help! The view from the house was amazing and we were just steps from the beach. The house was equipped with the necessities. We had a party of 10, the sleeping arrangements were tight but manageable. We would stay again without question.

Great views
Great views of the beach but not the easiest access to it. Limited parking. No dresser or tv in master bedroom also privacy is an issue with glass door looking straight into master bedroom.

Enjoyable Vacation
We had a very enjoyable and relaxing time. The house was reasonably within walking distance to the beach, which is awesome and the kids loved it. Also very close to all attractions. The house is in some need of small repairs though. Also a picture of the "4th bedroom" should be included. It isn't any bigger than the bed and small dresser (literally). This is great for kids but if we needed this for adults, it would not have worked. Overall experience - Great
The property was ,over all, in good shape. The carpet in the dinning area needs to be cleaned, batteries need to be placed in kitchen garbage can and small fencing around driveway needs to be redone Also, the dinning chairs need to be recovered. The manager, Tara, was a pleasure to work with! She was very helpful with our pre visit questions but, once we got there we never had to consult with her because the house was in great shape. Would enjoy working with her again.
We wanted to rent an ocean view property and we loved that we could hear ocean waves all the time from any room, the house was gorgeous to live in, but we really also rented this property over a few other options as it also had hot tub. The only thing that put us off was hot tub was reallly old and only had lukewarm water..never hot. The owner was kind enough to send the maintenance guy over while we were there, but that didnt help. we wish we knew of this issue before hand, we would have defi chosen another property from our options.
but other than that, we had a wonderful stay and the house was very well taken care of.
This house is right on the Santa Maria beach access. The beach expands to 26th ave beach which is great for surfer.
This family vacation in this house was great for all of us from teenagers to seniors. The kitchen has everything we needed to cook since we cooked every meals including rice cooker, slow cooker, and huge pots. The master bedroom was spacious and futon bed was very useful. Three bedrooms upstair are nicely remodeled and have great view of ocean. There was no extra bedsheets for rooms. The fitted sheet on my bedroom had a red stain, but no extra sheet to replace. Also there is no extra blankets. I think this house is good for maximum 8 people. It would be nicer if they have one sofa bed in the livingroom.
My family live pretty close to Santa Cruz, so we brought extra mattresses and blankets for our teenagers.
There are lots of beach towels and the shower outside house was really good after swimming at the beach Also hot tub was great!
We booked for a long weekend to host a family reunion, and right off the bat host was non-wavering in early/late checkout (but at this point at least they were getting back to us).
When we arrived, we found that there were no Sonos speakers as listed under amenities, and texted right away, only to receive a response over 24 hours later. They apologized as they were being fixed, funny, maybe you should have “fixed”your listing too.
In exploring more, our children found cigarette butts littered in the back yard and beer cans left in the bin of kids toys.
And later that evening we discovered that the hot tub leaked (a lot). The pool guy confirmed the next day when he can by for monthly service that it had been this way for awhile and asked if we wouldn’t mind filling back up after every use.
Finally, word to the wise that the listing was very accurate in that there is only parking for two cars and all other vehicles (even visitors) will need to find street parking. What it doesn’t tell you is that the street parking starts two blocks away.
Amazing views, walking distance to beach (no beach access from house), in a great part of town that unfortunately is not well kept and maintained by any sort of host whatsoever!

Great view, great location, but house not vacation friendly
This house sits above the sand with a lovely view, but to access the sand you must walk to the end of the street and around a busy corner. The beach is gorgeous, uncrowded, and bordered by a large lagoon. You must hike around the lagoon to get to the waves through a narrow passage between the lagoon and the sand (which is not easy since you are crawling over rocks).
Getting to the ocean is not as easy as it looks in the picture.
About that 4th bedroom: it is a small room off of another bedroom, which would have been fine except.... the queen bed took up the entire room, and sat elevated so high that it required stairs. Completely not suitable for kids who could easily be injured if they fell off.
We improvised by having the adults sleep in that little room with the skyscraper bed, and let the kids have the bigger bedroom, but why have a skyscraper bed in the first place?
Then there is the downstairs (master?) bedroom....the "mattress" was folded over foam pads on top of a mattress pad that had another encased foam pad. If the idea is a foam mattress it didn't work. It felt like sleeping on a giant marshmallow. The only entrance to the back yard was through that bedroom so there is traffic that flows through the room. There was no dresser and no closet because the owners had barricaded the closet with a TV set up. The wall for a dresser had a large closed off closet which I believe was a movie viewing screen of some sort. Was I sleeping in a media room that was haphazardly converted to a bedroom for the rental? Felt that way....
Every inch of the kitchen was full of the owner's own food, appliances, and gadgets. (except fridge, which was empty). There was quite literally no cabinet space, no counter space, and no drawers left for us to place any of our own food.
The dining room table seats 4 people. That's it. So we could never sit down together to eat, which was a big disappointment for me.
Lastly, the rental contract with multiple threats and over the top warnings made every adult cringe. So unwelcoming and harsh. We don't want to be threatened with penalties, police, and large fines. We know how to behave at a vacation rental, and we own one ourselves.
Tara, as always, is great to work with. The house was clean. The location is great. But multiple changes need to be made for vacationers to have a pleasant experience with this house. Or the owners just need to admit they don't want rentals.
We enjoyed our stay at this property. Great access to a very private beach and everything else Santa Cruz has to offer. very private and perfect for a quiet vacation watching the waves rolling in
This house was the perfect size for 8 of us. We had two birthday celebrations.
One thing I didn’t care for is to go to the backyard you have to walk through our bedroom.
The kids loved the high bed they slept in. We had perfect weather and the beach was easy to get to and it was beautiful.
