Place to relax

A great house to relax in, unwind and spend time with family, cooking eating, drinking wine talking, catching up and playing games. The dogs loved the field and on the hot days cooked down in the river. A perfect week

60th birthday gathering

Wanted to find somewhere in the area which had a village location with easy (walking) access to basic shops and restaurants for nine people in a traditional French setting. The property fulfilled the brief perfectly, the courtyard was excellent to get together and the river frontage garden was a bonus. Rooms all a good size especially the kitchen.

Excellent bubble

We have found an excellent last minute holiday home in Martizay. The kitchen was very well equipped combined with the closed outside patio, made cooking and eating an absolute feast. There is a goatfarm nearby with a fantastic collection of cheeses and other goat related food. With a bakery and a supermarket just around the corner you do not need to go far. There is an infrequent market across the road. The house Itself is old and beautifully decorated. There are enough bathrooms with excellent warm water. The bedrooms large with good closet space. The additional garden which is a few minutes walk from the house is a very nice place during the hot days. Our dog had a wunderfull time there in the water. A pity was that the canoe was not available nor the bikes, hut in the end we did not miss those. Lain and Liz were very kind. We had a great stay!

Antique countyside château

Stayed there with my friends during IPSC World Shoot 2017 sporting event in Châteauroux. Thanks to very hospitable owners check in and check out were as easy as it could be. The 3-storey house is huge: 5 bedrooms plus 2 living rooms, just right for a large loud company! Big kitchen has the door to the yard with table and grill -- definite place to gather at evenings. This is really a countryside: small tiny quiet village. Also, there is a separate beautiful piece of land on the local river 5 min walk from the household. The downside is lack of any foodstores or restaurants in the village but there are some in 20-30 min reach. Perfect place to stay if you don't expect 5 stars hotel service.
