Totara Cottage
Comfortable, private, pleasant garden settingWell-appointed throughoutHowever, the cottage appeared to have been unoccupied for some time - smelly rubbish of a previous occupant had not been removed. - the water in kitchen taps was not nice suggesting the taps had not been run for some time, stagnating in high summer temperatures- the chocolate treats tasted old/stale - the black pepper from the difficult-to-use mill was - stale,- the toaster function was poor and the browning knob functioning unsatisfactoryOn arrival the owner said they would be there if I needed anything, then away on the third day.The owners did not communicate again and were away the next day. After 3 days I handed the owner the rubbish that had not been removed and received an apology

Peaceful garden setting
Everything was set up very well in this cottage. It had attractive decor and was very clean. Kitchen area well equipped with bench and hot plates to cook, also a microwave. There was also a good size table and 2 chairs. Sitting area was cosy with coffee table and comfortable chairs and TV. Very comfortable bed in the same living room. Bathroom is small but modern and had a good shower. Nice to be able to sit outside too. A very handy location in Twizel for our two trips to Mt Cook.

I was there to make some progress on a book, so not the typical Twizel adventure, but the space was lovely, comfortable and clean, and when I needed a break it was an easy walk to town. I wrote a ton!

Our trip to Twizel
We had a lovely time, the house is very well set up. It has everything you could need, was great to not have to worry about linen and towels, hairdryer, made packing easier and more room for fishing gear. It was very clean and tidy. The owner was lovely, we will definitely be back. Thank you so much :)

Compact but perfect for a night or three with a comfortable queen bed. A well equipped studio with all the basics. Super-quiet neighbourhood and easy self check-in. Good base for checking out some nice bike trails.

Very comfortable; the hotplate in the kitchenette wasn't great; the email from the property manager initially sent us to the wrong address, an admin error they said; otherwise the cottage was ideal for our purposes, nice !!
