My family of 4 adults had a splendid time hanging out in the house and walking to beach. Lake access only a block away and large state park beach and campground a short walk. Nice Neighbors and lots of birds. Rock collecting excellant
We enjoyed the 2 weeks stay. It was quiet, relaxing area to return to after a days work.
We he house was clean and well supplied with the exception of certain paper supplies. The house is clean however we did find mouse droppings at the bottom level of one cupboard.
All in all We would stay at this property again.
Thank you

Clean, cozy, and accomodating
This is our second stay here at James' cottage. We had a great stay. The house is well maintained and only had a minor issue with the roof. We really loved the proximity to the lake. The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors are very friendly.
The kitchen is nicely organized and stocked. The bedrooms were comfortable and the laundry room is great to have for a vacation.
There is a lot around if you need a store or park.
We'll be back!

Had fun
The house was very nice. We really enjoyed our stay. I had trouble with figuring out the TV system with my computer and the sound system, but that is mainly my own fault. I am technically challenged. The internet was very fast, we loved the layout of the house. Very cozy. I have a son with autism and usually has a hard time transitioning to new situations but being at this lovely house he transitioned pretty quickly to our vacation. It was very nice to be able to take our dogs on vacation with us.We would definitely stay there again.

Great Weekend Getaway
I just got back from a weekend with my wife and our best friends and we loved the place. It's about 15 minutes south of Lexington and 20 minutes north of Port Huron, but it's super easy to get to either city. They have a ton of extra silverware, spices, etc. in their cupboards that will satisfy most of your needs. The fire pit on the side of the house was very nice for some late night drinks and smores. I had a few questions and James was always quick to respond and even suggested a few things to do.
If you like wine, good views, or just relaxing, you need to go to 3 North Vines Winery in Lexington. Such a cool place! There are also a few local bars near the house that are pretty fun. The only thing I was disappointed in were the bikes. My wife and I wanted to ride them in the park and one bike had the seat broken and it was basically set up for a 6'5 person, another bike wasn't broken but wasn't suited for a normal sized person (I'm 5'10). and the third one was a low rider. However, this did not take away anything from our weekend.
Overall great place that I'd recommend to others and hope to stay at again in the future!

The property is spacious and clean
We rented this property to attend our daughters wedding reception. This house was perfect for the weekend. We were able to bring our family pets as well as grandson with us. It was nice to be able to run back and forth from wedding activities to walk and feed them. The neighborhood was nice and quiet & and the neighbors we did meet were very friendly. I would recommend this home :)

A cute cottage style home
My sister and I wanted to go on a "girly get away" by the water. This lovely blue cottage style home was lovely, and decorated with rich woodwork, and very spacious. We had plenty of room and many amenities. Lake Huron is a beautiful lake and the drive up to Port Sanilac and Harbor Beach was wonderful. The owner was very thoughtful and helpful - - - for this was my first experience with VRBO. This place fit the bill for my sister and I and we had a wonderful time.

Memorable Holiday Weekend July 2016
I found this property by chance and my family (husband, 3 adult children) and I were not disappointed. The house is beautiful, clean, comfortable. The beach is a short, scenic walk away. Everyone we met (neighbors and other residents) were warm and welcoming. The owner friendly and responsive with any questions we had. We attended the fireworks in Lexington watching them with local merchants who invited us to sit by their shop. We had a fire at night on the patio, laughed, told stories, ate s'mores and star gazed. We hope to come back again and stay even longer. THANK YOU! cm

Suprisingly spacious!!
The property is well kept and clean. My family of six adults and two toddlers enjoyed our weekend stay. The pictures are deceptive because the house is more spacious than they show. There was plenty of room for all of us. We never felt crowded or cramped. We were able to all sit at the dinning room table for our meals and with three bedrooms, no one had to sleep on the couch. One small issue, though I'm sure it's no different for any home in that area, there were quite a few small ants in and around the kitchen sink. No leaving anything out on the counter unsealed, that's for sure. If you can tolerate that, then this is a great and affordable cottage with an 'upnorth' feel that's not to far away. Oh, and the owner is great!!

Quaint & Charming Cottage
This cozy cottage was wonderful for my family and small pet dog. The master bedroom is located on the 1st with two bedrooms upstairs, which gave our teenager privacy. There is an outside patio area with Adirondack chairs. If needed, a gas BBQ & Picnic table is available in garage. The home is located on a quite sheet with less than 5 minutes to small beach, but adequate. It was wonderful to watch fireworks from other local guests right on the beach. Lake Port State Park is right next door and in walking distance to beach & campsites. This is a perfect location meeting your camping friends and family. We brought our bikes and rode to local community park. The owner was a wonderful host and responded quickly to our questions. Extra bonus that lines was provided. The town of Lexington is 15 minutes away with quaint shops & few restaurants. We would stay again!

Very comfortable and clean cottage
This property was warm, welcoming, and cozy. It is located in a quiet neighborhood, close to a playground, a short walk to the state park, and there are several options for access to Lake Huron. It is a charming cottage that is well kept. The owner was very easy to reach, readily responded to communications, and was very gracious in promptly sending an item we accidentally left. Although it is in a quiet area, there are many shops/restaurants within a 10 minute drive. This was just what we hoped it would be!

Family and Friend Trip
This was a great home away from home. It had all the amenities that a family with children could want. With lots of sleeping area it was great for two families two share the home. Thanks for providing extra air mattresses. The beach truly is only a short walk away in such a quiet neighborhood. Their is a park for the kids to play in right at the water which is only a short stroller walk away. It is a rocky beach so water shoes are recommended. My only wish was that I knew about the rocks ahead of time as they are not pebbles. The owner provided great details about the accommodations and having wifi was an extra bonus. Thank you for sharing your home. It was a lovely vacation ending with fires in the evenings.
