Everyone who has visited says our place is “cozy… feels like home.” Access is via fingerprint and/or custom code thorough iron security doors via a 30ft ramp designed to make it an easy entry for folk who have heavy bags or those with mobility issues.

The cozy downstairs suite for 2 has a private bathroom and occupies half of the 1800 ft.² area of the 1st floor of this quaint, 1940's 2-story duplex. The other half of the floor is occupied by a commonly shared lobby, kitchen and office. Due to Covid and remote capabilities, the office is only occupied for a few hours, 1 or 2 days a week.

Please note that though the queen bedroom is designed to accommodate a sleeping couple, the couch in the suite’s front room opens to create an additional queen bed for an independent sleeper or additional guest(s).

The beautiful 1940’s era ‘real” hardwood floors in this building is accented by tasteful artwork; antiques; a ceiling fan, linens; a work desk, cell-friendly printer and an alternate sleeper sofa if needed; a common use kitchen area with dishes, cutlery, pantry, fridge, washer, gas dryer, iron & ironing board; BBQ grill on the secure, fenced-in, tree-lined patio.

We are less than 3 miles to Downtown Houston, Hermann Park, Museum District, the Zoo, UofH, TSU, or Rice U. It is within 4 miles (<$2 Metro / $5-$10 Uber) to Houston City Hall, Texas Medical Center, NRG, Baseball & BBVA Stadiums, City Hall, St.Thomas U, GRB Convention Center, East End.. and more!

Your WiFi is Xfinity broadband. The password Is provided when on site.


SECURITY:
Though there are no cameras in the living areas, a cloud-linked security camera records all activity on the porch and front walkway. There are other cameras monitoring parked cars in front of the building and activity on the side patio and back deck….So far, we’ve had no break-ins or incidences!

Concierge services:
I am always accessible via text or phone. I live 10 minutes away but my office is downstairs. I attend meetings and do business downtown, and can easily come by if needed.

OK GOOGLE” : Your Wi-Fi is a Google mesh system. The unit i the lobby and kitchen will also act as your personal concierge unit. You can ask it to play music for you, ask for the news, the day’s weather, or even what restaurants are close by, their operating hours and even how to get there.

To activate it simply say “OK Google“ and give it to your question or request.

Location, location, location!”

We are on the same block with the 7+ restaurants of the BLODGETT FOOD MALL, Unity Bank, "This is It" Restaurant, Blodgett Seafood and walking distance from Houston’s famous Turkey Leg Hut, area sports bars and clubs.

The building is located just outside of downtown Houston Texas and within 4 miles of: The Texas Medical Center, NRG Stadium, City Hall, Minute Maid Park, Emancipation Park, Discovery Green Park, Brown Convention Center, Toyota Center, University of Houston, Texas Southern University, Rice University, Discovery Green, Hermann Park, MacGregor Park, Emancipation Park, BBVA Compass Soccer Stadium, The Museum District, TDECU Football Stadium, Midtown/Montrose Shopping areas.

GETTING AROUND:
This is a corner lot with ample, lighted street parking available. We are 1/2 block from METRO Bus #25. The bus stop is in front of Unity Bank. A 6 minute ride takes you to the Main Street @ Wheeler METRO Rail transit center — Or to Fiesta Mart a local grocery store. A round trip day pass generally costs $2. We are also less than a mile from a huge H-E-B at N.MacGregor and Highway 288.

Uber and Lyft rides to downtown, the medical center, Hermann Park, the zoo, NRG Stadium, most of the four universities surrounding the area, or minute maid Park, generally will cost around 5 to 8 dollars.

However, if you stay more than 30 days, no HOT is due.
