Can't wait to go back!!

My friend and I were searching for a place to escape with a stack of books and just be one with nature. We had narrowed our search down to a couple of places and opted to go with Whispering Cascades based on the way Rachelle described her home. I could tell she was very passionate about the property and when we arrived, we could see why. She and this little house are such a hidden gem! We had such a wonderful time at this place. It was beautiful, serene, very peaceful, so clean, and just perfect in every way. Rachelle was a wonderful hostess and the hospitality was FIVE stars, hands down. My friend and I didn't want to leave and we cannot wait to go back. I have raved to my family about this place and can't wait to take them too. New favorite! Highly recommend!

Family friendly

Peaceful get away spot. Close enough for short trips to other attractions. Lots of room for kids to run and explore and play in the creek.

Great hidden Gem

The house was immaculately clean when we arrived, my sone almost walked into the patio door thinking it was open, in fact. Easy access to the creeks with several points of entry. Unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there, so we didn't get a lot of time to spend in the water, but I would definitely come back here again.

Great property and great people!

We've stayed at dozens of VRBO properties all over the lower 48, Hawaii and Canada and this was by far the best. Rachelle and Camillo have remodeled this house into one of the best appointed properties in the area. The kitchen has EVERYTHING you could possibly need during your stay...more spices than we keep at home, two types of coffee makers (with coffee), drawers and cupboards full of utensils, blender, plastic wrap, crock pot, microwave, toaster, a refrigerator full of condiments...the list goes on! The bedrooms have new mattresses which are more comfortable than ours at home! All the entertainment features you could imagine! And the best part...the house is located on 12 acres of private land at the end of a short gravel road and on the bank of a gentle cascading stream...privacy and serenity at it's best. I almost forgot the true best part...Rachelle...she found out that Patty was not feeling well and when we arrived she had a selection of herbal teas and home made cookies for her. Needless to say this is a great property with great on-site owners. I wish the review had 10 stars! Mike and Patty in Ormond Beach, Florida

Affordable getaway by the creek in the mountains..

Our stay at this cabin was wonderful, we enjoyed the back porch in the morning and watched our boys playing in the creek. Very quiet location, and the cabin was super clean. The owners are wonderful and very welcoming. You can just relax and enjoy the sounds of the creek. If you looking for complete getaway from the busy life this is the place to be. We will definitely be back again.....

This place is like driving into paradise.

When you first arrive you will be blown away when you finally set down on the covered back porch with your first cup of coffee. We found everything to be very clean and well maintained. The customer service was outstanding. I have shared our great time there with my friends and relatives. I look forward to our next trip up there. "A little piece of Heaven" to say the least. The casino, white rafting, trout fishing, canoeing and close to the famous Brasstown for some good ole fashion live blue grass music and local folk art. Blue ridge is a short distance away for shopping and fine dinning. Nantahala Gorge for white water rafting for the family was great family fun. Definitely will be doing that again. Restaurants in Murphy are too many to name but with an array of menus to choose from. Inside the cabin was very clean and plenty of room to roam with every amenity you can possibly think of. We hated to leave when it came time but it was exactly what we all needed for some good ole R&R. Thanks for the good times and family memories we will always have to share with one another.

Beautiful place I highly recommend it! Loved it!

Everything was neat, and clean! I recommend this place, very peaceful and the stream is beautiful! Our family had a wonderful time here! The owners put a lot of thought and consideration to everything that is inside the home… Everything was there that we needed… The porch is wonderful to sit on and rock while listening to the rambling streams. The beds are comfortable and everything is warm and inviting! The only negative thing I have to say, is that we couldn’t stay longer! Will be coming again… Can’t wait!

Our family moved from Florida to NC for a ministry call to this area. We moved here in Dec. of 2015 and have been coming to this area for 54 years. We love the Lord and are dedicated to serving Him. We enjoy meeting people and our heart is to see families taking time out of their busy schedules to regroup and build their family bonds together.

Why they chose this property

We love this property because it is close to everything yet it sits at the end of a dead-end road and we are at that dead-end. It is private with Private No-Tresspassing signs posted as well so our guests have full privacy during their stay. Being on a dead-end road allows a feeling of privacy and being in the woods and not being too far away from regular needs! The creek holds a special place because it draws its guests in to it and brings a peaceful song to their soul! Many families, friends and ministers have stayed here and some already have it blocked for their future stays. It has been their private oasis and they don't want to share it but we are opening it back up! We live on the same property as the rental and we are looking for guests that will appreciate this precious jewel as much as we do and respect it as if it were their own!

What makes this property unique

The unique benefits of this property is that everything inside has been redone. We had to make a decision to refurbish this house from top to bottom or to remove it. It was grandfathered in and if we removed it we could not put another house there. After experiencing the cascading waterfalls and the history of the old railroad that runs through the property, we gave it everything we had and spent many months as a family working to bring this house back to something many can enjoy! We hope you like it and that you find it to be as special to you and your family as it has been to our family and friends! If you want more of the story, just ask us when you stay and we will be glad to fill you in!!
