Excellent property for traveling to campus, ND stadium and anywhere downtown. Lots of parking.
The property exceeded expectations. We had two families and 10 people. Lots of room in the charming home. Home is clean and well maintained. The owner was exceptional in providing timely customer service and left lots of information on how to use appliances, televisions, etc. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with everything you need to make meals for a large group. The property is very spacious, both inside and out. We strongly recommend this property, without exception, for a large group of 8-10. Special thanks to the owner's for making us feel so welcomed!

O'Shaughnessy House in South Bend, IN.
The house was very clean and there were clear instructions on how to use appliances and the garage doors. The house is very comfortable and enjoyed the open space in the kitchen and the great sofa in the TV room. The Notre Dame Campus was short drive away as well as super markets and restaurants. We recommend this house highly to other renters and appreciate the great communication from Brendan, the owner of the home. We had a great weekend in South Bend and this home was a big part of making the weekend a very special one.

Wonderful experience in South Bend at a Notre Dame football weekend
The property exceeded expectations. It was a beautiful grounds in a safe surrounding neighborhood very close to campus. The house has tremendous charm and history to it, and is exceptionally clean, well maintained and comfortable. We look forward to returning there on every trip back to South Bend/Notre Dame. The owner was exceptional in his providing customer service and left maps, brochures and information extremely helpful for the guests who were making a first trip to city and campus. We strongly recommend this property. It was the best we found from our research and proved to be the best from our stay. It was nearby to the campus and well located within the city for off campus dining and touring. We arrived at the start of the Fall season and the neighborhood was as breathtaking as any picture book of Fall in the Midwest. The property is extremely spacious and can accommodate a large family or group. We recommend this property without exception. It was a treat staying in the home away from home!

About the host
Hosted by Brendan O'Shaughnessy
Brendan and Laurel O’Shaughnessy graduated from Notre Dame and St. Mary’s College in 1993. A former teacher and journalist, Brendan works at Notre Dame as a writer in the Communications department. Laurel works as a special education teacher at St. Joseph High School. We have three children (Maeve, 14; John, 13; and Kate, 10) whose pictures are all over the house – at least it has more character than an impersonal hotel!
Why they chose this property
We bought this house, built in 1927, from the original owner’s son in the summer of 2010. We did a lot of renovation work to make it more up to date, including new windows, counters, bathrooms and paint, as well as refinishing floors, finishing part of the basement and changing the layout. We like to think the result is an older home with both character and modern conveniences; it has the original colonial door hardware, but also WiFi, flat-screen TV's, and new appliances.
What makes this property unique
Located about a mile from the Notre Dame campus and a half mile from Downtown, our house is in one of South Bend’s best neighborhoods, near some of the original Studebaker residences. The back yard is spacious and has a patio, grill, fire pit, basketball court and zip line. Parking is available in the 2-car garage and the extra-long driveway.
