Beautiful cabin in the perfect location! Amazing stay!
I'm so glad we stumbled across Shepherd's Chalet when choosing a spot for our 19th Anniversary! The cabin is amazing with excellent craftsmanship and attention to every little detail. We lacked nothing during the entire stay and Brian made the process a breeze......he even gave us some great dinner/lunch recommendations. If you work up the desire to leave this beautiful property, you're literally at Dupont's doorstep with access to several waterfalls and hiking trails. Highly Recommended! Great property, great owners.....we'll definitely be back!
Exactly as advertised and a very enjoyable couple of days. Clean, quiet, convenient and an attention to detail that exceeded our expectations. Anyone reading this who decides to book a stay - let's keep it between ourselves; I'm afraid that if word gets out it won't be possible to book another stay. On second thought let the world know, it's nice to know quality is still around.
hands down the best i have rented.
amazing location. well thought out property. super stylish aesthetic. great attention to detail. super hosts.
can't wait to come back.
Very secluded, cute cabin in the forest. Every detail about this cabin was well thought out, and it shows! Loved everything about our stay, but one thing that stands out is the amazing fire pit with great firewood. Comfortable bed and love the big windows! We were able to enjoy some fresh air by opening the windows as well. Thanks for sharing your place with us. The arrows really helped us getting up! Close proximity to hikes, waterfalls, breweries, and more. Great communication whenever needed! Would definitely come back!
We have been renting cabins in the mountains for years. This one is by far the best and it has it all. It is private with a deep in the woods feeling, yet safe with a reasonable drive to town. This cabin is clean and new without the musty country clutter that many cabins come with. Air quality is excellent and the ac cools nicely. The kitchen has everything you need and then some with snacks and a s’mores kit for the perfectly prepped fire pit. Brian, the owner, was available to kindly answer all of our questions about the area biking trails. We were glad to have found the Cedar Mountain Cafe right in DuPont and only a short drive away. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our stay. Without a doubt, we will return next year.
This small modern cabin is nicely finished with an uncommon attention to detail. Nestled in a private wooded setting, it is located just minutes to a number of trail heads and popular waterfalls, allowing us to easily sneak in a couple of hikes between the extensive rains we encountered during our stay. Just a short distance to the conveniences and attractions in Brevard and Hendersonville are a plus. The owners were on top of every detail to ensure a positive experience!

Great Getaway Cabin
We recently had the great pleasure of spending three days at this wonderful, secluded bit of natural paradise. The home is unique, filled with hand-crafted touches that make the property really shine. The cabin is ringed on all sides by a quiet and lovely forest, yet local attractions are very accessible. Brian and Danielle have created something special, and it's a place that visitors will want to return to again and again.

Wonderful experience!
This cabin was an absolutely beautiful getaway. Light and bright, comfortable, sparklingly clean, surrounded by trees, well-designed and decorated - Brian and Danielle's cabin is an utter delight, full of thoughtful touches and well-equipped for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. I enjoyed the proximity to hiking and mountain towns, and was also perfectly content to stay put and spend a day relaxing around the house. Brian was communicative and so kind and helpful. Would definitely go back and recommend it in a heartbeat.

Stunning retreat
My wife and I spent a long weekend at Brian's cabin and this place is amazing! The cabin is very comfortable and you are fully immersed in the surroundings. Also a great location right next door to Dupont State Forest where we hiked, relaxed and took it all in. The cabin is close to Hendersonville and Brevard which provided a variety of things to do while there. We will be back and double thumbs up!

One of the nicest vacation rentals we've stayed in!
Shepherd's Chalet was such a wonderful find and just what we were looking for in a place to get away for a few days! Brian and Danielle have done an outstanding job of personally constructing their lovely cottage in a beautiful wooded mountain setting. The craftsmanship is beautiful and the home is immaculate. Brian and Danielle have equipped it with A/C and heat, wood stove, washer/dryer, TV, comfortable mattresses, kitchen supplies, toiletries, books, games, etc. - all the things that separate an adequate rental from a luxury rental. Check-in and check-out were a breeze and since Brian and Danielle live on the property, they were available to answer questions or offer helpful suggestions. Though private and somewhat secluded, the cottage is within easy driving distance to Brevard, Hendersonville, and Asheville, which was a big plus for us, as heavy rain prevented us from partaking of the many outdoor opportunities in the area. This beautiful cottage is the perfect place to use as a base for such activities or to just relax and do nothing. We would definitely love to visit Shepherd's Chalet again!

Amazing Stay!
We have vacationed and hiked the Brevard area several times, but Brian's house is by far our favorite. So glad we were able to find this and stay for our 22nd anniversary. The house is amazing and so close to the incredible waterfalls at Dupont. The modern design is very stylish and the back porch area was our relaxation spot as we enjoyed the hammocks. Brain was great to supply firewood for the fire pit and answered any questions we had right away. Something tells me we will need to book far in advance for our next stay as others find out about this place. Can't wait to come back!

A true work in craftsmanship and comfort!!!
The pictures do not do justice to this amazing cottage that feels like you are sleeping in a treehouse. From taking the winding driveway through the forest, you happen upon a private retreat nestled in the pines. The cottage is beautiful, well appointment and immediately allows you to take a deep breath and relax. The back porch boasts of hammocks and ceiling fan. The loft area is cozy and relaxed with ample space for hanging out. Brian and Danielle are great hosts and were highly responsive to any need, not to mention have great advice on the best trails and places to grab a bite. Also, the cottage is so close to DuPont! I was at the visitors center in 5 minutes- great for folks looking to hike, bike or just relax. Highly HIGHLY recommend this cottage.

Great Little Chalet Right At DuPont’s Doorstep
We loved the details of this great little place - open and airy with lots of awesome plants. The loft is a great spot to hang out and the oversized bean bag was amazing! The property itself boosts trails that are great for roaming. Oh, the back porch off the master was a great little area for hanging out in the hammocks. Overall a wonderful experience, and Brian was super attentive to our needs. We will definitely be back to hit the mountain bike trails right down the road in DuPont....and hopefully for longer than 2 days. Highly recommend.
