Beautiful property and home. Very clean. We loved being so close to Boone, but also feeling like we were in our own world. We enjoyed hiking around the property and seeing deer.
We had some communication issues. We were meeting in Boone for Thanksgiving, and our goal was to cook/eat a lot of food, watch football, shop online on Black Friday and just hang out with our family of 5. I reached out to owner to find out what I should bring to prep my large Thanksgiving dinner, but didn't hear back for several days, and by the time we got a response (which didn't answer our question), we were already several hours into our drive. Fortunately we grabbed a few things as we left our house, as the kitchen is not well-stocked for meal prep: no mixing bowls/stock pot/serving spoons. Most people will not be fixing a big meal here, but I do think the things listed above would be expected to be in a kitchen.
The other thing that would be nice to have a better understanding of is how poor the Wifi/cellular is at the house. My college kids couldn't upload online assignments, definitely no online shopping, and the streaming YouTubeTV (provided by owner) buffered non-stop, so watching football was difficult at best. The owner said they've tried everything to improve it without success. I wish I had known this prior, as it greatly impacted our goals of this trip.
Also no checkout instructions.
So much potential with location, cleanliness, nice comfortable decor; a few improvements are needed.
We stayed at this house in Oct of 2023 and loved it so much we planned another trip a year later in Nov 2024. The house is beautiful as ever and had no noticeable damage from Hurricane Helene. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and exploring along the river. The property is gorgeous and I’m sure we’ll be back again. It has plenty of space for our family of 6.
House is very nice and the family thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Many thanks to the property management team for the flexibility displayed while working around the challenges of Hurricane Helene and the subsequent rescheduling of our visit. We look forward to hopefully spending more time here. Thanks again!
The location was amazing with plenty of room to roam for our family of four. Truly only 5 minutes from Boone one way and 5 minutes to the Parkway the other way.
The house itself is well represented by the photos. The basement was one of the best finished basements I stayed in. No damp feeling or musty smell.
The property itself was gorgeous. There were paths cut clearly by a bush hog that meandered around the property. There was so much to admire: the flowers, apple trees, wildlife, and the scenery was just amazing.
My only wish was actual access to the New River. The listing boasts 1500 feet of frontage, but nothing was accessible due to over growth. I would have at least liked to have been able to sit and look at the river if I couldn't get in it.
Also, the Pine River Access Point is only one mile from the house, so you could drop in there in an innertube and hop out at the house, if there was a way to get up the bank or through the brush.
If that doesn't bother you, then this is a great house. I would love to come back in the fall when the apples are sweeter and the leaves are changing color.
What a blast!! This property is AMAZING! Didn't get to explore the property as much as we had wanted due to the weather, but we certainly made the best of it. The house is very comfortable and well stocked. My kids hung out in the basement while we relaxed upstairs after snow tubing at near by mountains. And the best part is your far enough away from the crowds but close enough to drive if you need anything. Will definitely stay again.
We travel a lot and have stayed at some amazing VRBOs and this one is our favorite ever!! We are already planning a return. If you’re looking to escape, this is your place. We enjoyed roaming the gorgeous property, exploring the barn, sitting in the hot tub. The interior of the is like a model home. Perfect for our family of 6. Highly recommend!
So impressed with the property. We CANT WAITTTTT to come back. So dreamy, peaceful and relaxing. Our girls loved it, too. Thank you doesn’t even cover it.
Deck and covered porch were excellent. Enjoyed the hot tub. Kitchen was clean and easy to use. Showers are very nice. Family had a relaxing vacation. House was a great location for enjoying the area’s beautiful attractions.
This place was super nice and quiet. The house was really clean, comfortable, and well furnished. Being able to get out and take a morning and evening walk around the property, and walk down to the river, was a real treat. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
Our family with young kiddos plus grandparents stayed here over a rainy Memorial Day weekend and could not have had a better time. The house is wonderful and well appointed. The covered deck let us stay outside even in the pouring rain! The property was well maintained and the kids had a blast rolling down the hill and running the trails. Will definitely be staying here again!
This property surpassed all our expectations. A true mountain refuge. Our family of 6 had plenty of room to relax and enjoy the peaceful setting of this secluded farm property. We were an easy drive from the mountain to ski for the day. We will definitely be back here!
Pictures so t to justice for this property. The house was better I person. The view from the master bedroom to the living area was beautiful. Very clean. We really enjoyed our stay.
The property was fantastic—close to town but still felt secluded. The house was clean and well appointed, exactly as advertised. Also, the check out process was so easy which was a huge plus!
Fantastic location- just outside of Boone. Very spacious home and updated throughout. Kelly was very responsive with my questions, and requests. Thank you, Kelly!
We enjoyed our stay here very much! The house is very nice, well appointed, & well equipped! We enjoyed walks around the property although a couple days during our stay were very cold and windy, which made fully enjoying it more difficult. The hot tub was magnificent, and we enjoyed seeing the river - access to town was a breeze. Definitely would recommend this home!
