About this property

A quaint artistic cottage for all seasons

Deckhouse is a quaint artistic cottage which offers a great setting for all seasons of the year. Enjoy a winter getaway to one of Port Fairy's Winter Weekends. After a day of music and art, have dinner at one of the many delicious restaurants before retreating to an evening in front of your very own cosy wood fireplace.

In the summer relish the summer sun by surfing East Beach or at the family friendly Pea Soup Cove with its volcanic rock ring that provides a pool like sea for swimming. Or you could spend the afternoon relaxing on the large undercover backyard, the fully enclosed backyard is bordered by trees which provides you with privacy and a lovely summer experience with enough room for that game of backyard cricket - great for children & pets!

This 3 bedroom home provides a lovely couples retreat in Port Fairy, and although it only has 1 bathroom there is a second separate toilet as well as outside shower (hot) to warm up after a swim or surf. Enjoy this home away from home while exploring all that Port Fairy has to offer.

Arty nana’s cottage

Lovely, spacious backyard with heaps of decking for lazy outdoor reading and dining. Floorboards and lots of art throughout - really like going to a fun nana’s with loved pieces of furniture collected together from diff eras, but with a cool aesthetic. Great indoor dining room. Actually sharp kitchen knives, and actually non stick frying pans - this is the first holidays I haven’t bought some due to sheer frustration. Nb. Not much storage space for food apart from a good big fridge. We had a very, very comfy king bed. 2 blocks from shops. Not much further to the river/beaches. Dogs had a ball, and the 2 humans adored it.

Disappointing

Whilst surfaces were clean, the property was very tired and dirty (e.g., light fittings, windows, doors, front entrance, back deck, etc). Rear garden was unkept, back deck unusable, plagued with mosquitos (due to grass), no fly screens! Location was also noisy and this should be highlighted.

Loved all the artwork! Some things weren't great for a toddler.

Artwork was amazing and the home is clearly loved by the owners. There were some things that weren't ideal for a toddler, like the fire barrier and open cupboards. It was cozy though and walking distance to town.
