This Truckee condo is one mile on the free shuttle to Northstar California Resort! In winter, there's 100 miles of snow: in summer, hiking trails. Enjoy access to the Northstar recreation center amenities, which include tennis courts, basketball courts, a fitness center, a sauna, a hot tub, a seasonal lap pool, and an open grill area next to a beautiful creek surrounded by pine, fir, and aspen trees. (Site rentals include the use of three picnic tables and up to two gas BBQ grills with grilling utensils.) There is a $10 daily fee per person for use of the facilities.

A short flight of steps take you to the front door, which has a digital lock with a code. The condo opens into a hallway with stairs leading upstairs and down. Upstairs is the living area, with a full bathroom on the left. The main living area is open concept, with a lounge seating and a TV with cable and DVD player. A cabinet full of DVDs and books will keep you entertained all evening.

A gas and wood fireplace warms the space, including the dining table for 6 and the open kitchen with 2 bar stools at the counter. When the weather's mild, open the glass sliding doors to the forest-view deck, where you'll find patio seating for 3.

In the kitchen, granite countertops and black appliances add a modern touch to classic wooden cabinetry. There's plenty of equipment big and small for everything you need.

Downstairs, there's a laundry room and two bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed and a TV for DVD use on top of a handsome armoire. In bedroom 2, another queen bed is complemented by a large dresser and closet. A full bathroom services these two bedrooms, featuring a stand in shower and single vanity.

The condo is approximately 1 mile from Northstar California Resort Village, this property has no end of things to do all year round! Come in winter and find over 100 miles of skiing, snowboarding and tubing at Northstar, with 20 lifts and 2 gondolas. In summer, snow melts to reveal glorious trails for hiking and biking. And all year round, you'll find upscale dining on the mountain, including Zephyr Lodge and the Ritz-Carlton.

Down at base, there's no shortage of year-round fun in the Village, from shops to restaurants, a movie theater, ice-skating and late night bars.

Lots of pests: ants, spiders, mosquitos. Bed had stains on the mattress. Felt itchy. No AC so it was very hot. I would put a portable ac in the unit for the summer.

Would definitely stay here again.

Cozy 2 bed 2 bath property about a mile from northstar. Two queen bedrooms are located downstairs with one full bathroom while the main floor has a full bathroom, living area, kitchen, and a fireplace. Perfect for two couples who are traveling together. Fireplace was wonderful (bring your own firewood), the beds/pillows were comfortable, and the water pressure in the showers was great! The kitchen was a little bare bones but nothing that couldn't be stocked by the local grocery store. Wifi was only 2g so it worked well with everything except zoom calls which were a bit spotty on my zoom call receivers' end. Switched to my phone hot spot but i have at&t and it only had two bars. Oh well....Got my morning work calls done regardless. Would be great if they could switch to 5g. Can park up to 2 cars and the village is only a short 3-minute drive away - about a mile so not walkable in ski or snowboots but an easy 3 min drive if someone is dropping you off at the base. Note: the hot tub is located at the association center (not sure where this is but you have to drive a few minutes and pay $10/person for use). We never ended up using it but maybe next time. Would recommend this property and stay here again - great price point.

Not quite like the pictures

This location is amazing, bus stop to Northstar is right there, a very short walk down the driveway. So if you're looking for easy access to the gondola, this is a great value. Now if you're looking for comfort as well, I have some notes for you: The condo lighting is not great, almost cave like, the water heater must be small, because two showers, using both bathrooms, halfway through went freezing cold... not fun in 30 degrees 😒 and the bed mattress' are desperately begging to be retired, I haven't slept in a taco bed for a long time, and I did not need that experience after a day of working hard on the mountain, the high ceilings also had a large amount of cobwebs, and please wash the dishes before you use them, because I found two dirty wine glasses in the cupboard.

Northstar Gem indeed!

Clean, quiet, comfortable, close but not too close—we had a great time with this property as our base of operations for an all-too-brief stay featuring the wonderful hiking in this area. We’d love to come back in early winter or for spring skiing. Wonderful!

I only have positive things to say about this condo. Great location, clean, nice showers, etc. I only wish our weekend trip were longer to take advantage of the kitchen and other amenities. Hoping to go back again. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful Condo - Terrible Property Manager

The condo and its location are great - in fact we met the owners and they are delightful, however I cannot say the same about the property managers. I do go into a complaint fest here, but only because I think the owners should be aware of what we experienced. The condo was nice split level 2 bdrm/2bath with 2 queen beds - tho I swear when I booked it there were 2 twin beds in one of the bedrooms?? The location is great with easy access on the shuttles. It is up a steep hill, so be sure you have 4WD or chains in snow b/c it can get slippery. The road to the lodge backs up terribly at the end of the day, so plan accordingly if your trying to pick someone up at the lodge - better to have them take the shuttle back up. The set up of the house is great for a family of four, but could get a little crowded with limited seating due to the location of the sofa to the TV. The kitchen was a nice size and easy to cook in, however we found many dirty dishes, along with the fridge and stovetop with food debris. The dishwasher was not functioning and there was a huge puddle of water under the washing machine - so we were told we could not use it - this was a big issue because we had picked up my son who had already been away a week and all of his clothes needed laundered. The fireplace is a gas starter, which was easy, but make sure to bring your own firewood - none was provided. BUY INSURANCE - With the big storm that came in NYE, we couldn't get to the property - got stuck and were not able to make it up to the property because they closed I-80 - there was no flexibility with the property manager. We had asked days before we left if they would consider moving our dates because it looked unlikely that we would be able to pass on the roads. They said NO. We got an email about 5 days before our stay offering a large discount to extend our stay, but given the uncertaintly of the weather, we did not act on it. Given that we missed our first day/night b/c the FWY was CLOSED, I asked if they would honor the discounted rate if we decided to stay a day longer given our situation. They said NO. As it turned out the roads were once again going to close so we ended up leaving a night early anyway, so we lost $$ on the front end and back end of the stay due to unprecedented conditions. NorthStar resort didn't even have the whole mountain open and opened late during our stay due to heavy snow and avalanche conditions. Terrible Property Mgmt - Great Condo!

6/10 Okay

Not as good as it looks, but a great local rep

Problems - Vacasas emails all had incorrect codes to get in the unit, Gordon, their local rep came through with a code that worked - Furniture is definitely not as comfortable as the pictures look - Painters were painting the building while we were booked. They were going to cover windows & sliders with plastic...they planned to paint the entryway including the stairs WHILE we were there. The painters said they notified the Assn & the owners 2 months before they started. The owners & the rental agent did not notify us until days after we had arrived. - The only good thing about this experience is that Vacasa's local rep, Gordon, found us a replacement home, nicer than the Mill Camp Gem. We did not have to pay anything extra. Gordon is a great guy!

Great Week at Northstar!

6030 Camp Mill is a gem! It is very comfortable for 4. It is very clean, well stocked, and the HOA complex amenities are excellent. We also enjoyed the great water pressure in the showers! We loved the Native American motif as well. It is an excellent location to be in King's Beach or downtown Truckee in 15 minutes and Tahoe Palisades (formerly Squaw Valley) in 30 minutes.

Condo was clean and well maintained. Check in was easy and all relevant info for the stay was delivered... no follow up questions needed. The beds were a bit soft for me, but I do like a firmer bed.

Basic but sufficient.

Property location for skiers is good. Has a good ski condo vibe. Bus picked us up in our unit parking lot and the bus back was way quicker than for the other resort lots. Beds are fairly comfortable. Bathrooms are nice overall. Kitchen is only modestly supplied. Nothing fancy. Good size table though. TV is really small and neighbor walls are thin. Overall it worked but with just a little more effort this place could be great.

very close to Northstar

5 minute shuttle ride to main village and very easy to use with app just make sure you’re at the stop before you request. 2 parking spots was great. Full kitchen and washer dryer very handy! Hot water ran out in shower and wish there was clear directions to where the hot tub was, but overall great stay!

Nice place & location. Heating a little uneven

We enjoyed staying in this complex- it's peaceful and the shuttle to northstar is very convenient and the app used to hail a shuttle works well. Some reviews have said this place feels "dated"- I didn't think so. The interior felt newly renovated for the most part, just with more traditional styling. My only minor complaint was that the bedrooms for this place got extremely warm at night with the doors closed, since the thermostat is outside the rooms. With bedroom doors open it was ok.

Beautiful Condo

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo was very clean and had a gorgeous view. It may not be perfectly modern but it still contains all the necessary amenities. The view from the deck was spectacular and you can hike from the condo. The rental company is very easy to work with. The only thing I wish they had was a smart tv.

Great Stay!!

The property is in a great quiet location! Driving distance to beaches, stores and restaurants, walk to the Northstar Village. The condo has everything you would need right down to coffee filters, bath soaps, and fans. For such a nice condo, it did need some simple improvements; working cable, broken screen, window that didn’t close properly, closet door missing a screw to slide properly, light bulbs in the dining light, a toilet that kept running (flap needed), and the washing machine lid that had been broken. Most inexpensive simple fixes- not sure if that’s a commentary on the property management. The simple fixes I’m sure will be repaired and I look forward to our next visit!

Peaceful Setting Nice Stay Read Review

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My sister and I had a great stay at this Northstar Indian Hills Condo. It was clean and a nice quiet setting. The kitchen had everything you might need to prepare meals. We had a great time relaxing in the evening and enjoyed building a fire and relaxing in the living area. The queen beds in both of the bedrooms were very comfortable. However, the old tube TV in the living room was not really usable. It did not have HDMI so we were not even able to use it as a monitor. We did not turn on the TV in the bedroom. We would highly recommend upgrading the entertainment system.Turnkey was the most user friendly rental management I have ever used. Jake, the Turnkey coordinator for our area was amazing in responding to our needs. Because his staff was busy addressing other situations, he took it upon himself to promptly come to our condo, answer questions, and get what we needed to resolve a couple issues and answer questions we had. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Nice getaway

My family and I were very happy with our stay. Although some items were a bit outdated we were only ever there when we would come home after a long day of adventuring out. The heated pool at the NPOA was amazing and easy to reserve online, the only downside was that the hot tub was unavailable due to covid restrictions. Overall our stay went off without a glitch.

Great condo in Northstar

This unit is the perfect Northstar location! The unit itself was clean - but as you look around there were a lot of cobwebs and dust on the blinds. It is kind of dark, so it's easy to miss at first glance. So while we never felt it was dirty overall, just the opposite, it was clean and habitable - but it really needs a deep cleaning. Looking back on comments from over a year ago, the cobwebs were mentioned in the kitchen. The patio furniture is flimsy and sparse but served it's purpose (as long as you don't apply pressure to the table). The TV in the living room was from 1994 and is horrible. There is also only one other small TV in the one bedroom that has no cable. These comments were also noted well over a year ago. The owner needs to spend a few dollars and buy some nicer patio furniture and upgrade the TVs. You don't come to this area to watch TV, but when you have some downtime, it's nice to turn it on and then relax on the patio without fear of the patio furniture falling apart. Prior comments also mention that the sliding door screen handle was broken well over a year ago and it is still broken. It is also VERY quiet in this complex, so even talking outside, you are heard many units away. Overall we were very happy with our stay and this condo - I just needed to note the comments that have been talked about for years with no action taken. If the owner spent a little effort in a deep clean, new patio furniture and new TVs this would be a 5 star condo all day long! We would stay again with these changes implemented!

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
