Blanding is surrounded by more National parks and state monuments than anywhere else in the country and this home is the perfect base camp for all of your adventures in the southeastern Utah/ southwestern Colorado region. Our historic home is located in the heart of Blanding; it has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. There is a queen size bed in one bedroom, the other bedroom has a full size bed. There is also a pack-n-play fold out crib for your convenience. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, dishes, utensils, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, etc... Everything you need to make your own meals. There is also a barbecue grill outside. At one end of the main living area you'll find a couch, recliner, TV and DVD player, and at the other end is the dining table. The large utility room has a washer and dryer, plus enough room for a couple of bicycles, hunting or climbing gear, or anything else you need extra room to store inside during your stay. Very clean and comfortable with lots of updates, yet it retains many of the features you love to see in old homes. We have big plans for the yard but it is currently a work in progress.

Hiking trip to nearby Bears Ears and Natural Bridges National Park
Fabulous hiking along canyons with ancient pueblo structures. The museum a few blks from Cozy Cottage at Edge of Cedars State Park is terrific! The cottage was comfortable at end of each long day when we just wanted to rest. Very peaceful.
The cottage is close to bears ears and canyon lands needles district. Very comfortable and clean. Had everything we needed. No problems parking on the street directly in front of the property. Nice outside area in the back.
The Cozy Cottage was a very pleasant place to stay for two nights. It fit our group (three adults) perfectly, and was well furnished. I mis-read the listing and thought there was a washer, but there was only a dryer; we found the town laundromat which only took 24 minutes for a load, and dried the clothes in the house. The neighborhood was quiet. The house is only a few blocks from Edge of the Cedars State Park, an outstanding museum, and there are also nearby stores and gas stations. Thank you!
My sister and i went to The Mighty Five and Mesa Verde National Park. The atay in Blanding waa very comfortable. Good shower pressure, thermostat control and having a washer and dryer was essential.
This cozy home was absolutely sparkling clean. The kitchen was well equiped for cooking. Beds were very comfy! Lots of HOT water for washing up. Neighborhood was very quiet. Couldn't ask for more!
I love this home for a couple people to stay. It only has one restroom, which is stated in listing, so that makes it best for a couple or like my Mom and I this last time. The beds are comfortable and the recliner and reclining couch are wonderful after a day out sightseeing. There is plenty of kitchen tools to make a meal and the laundry room is wonderful. Plenty of water pressure and hot water for the two of us. This last stay however showed the one flaw I could find. The house does not have air conditioning as shown on one place in the listing. It does have a swamp cooler, but when it’s warm, that makes a lot of noise in the living room and requires the bedroom window stay cracked at night and also the bedroom door to stay open to get air flow to the bedrooms. Also when eating at the dining room table, the swamp cooler is a pain right next to the table. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. I love this house and usually travel in the winter when a heater is needed at night, not air conditioning. Just wanted to point out the air situation as if we had gone when it was even hotter, it would have made it uncomfortable, especially for my elderly Mom.

Sorry to say it was not a pleasant experience...
We've stayed at this house and other houses in Blanding each year for a decade with no problem. BEWARE! they will attempt to charge you extra for things that did not occur or exaggerations. They charged for my brother's service dog being in the house; the dog never entered the house. They charged for late stay when we were out before the checkout time stated on Vrbo. They charged for extra people in the house, when none of our extended family stayed overnight. We had my ill mother there during the day for us to spend time with. We left the house clean with no damages, had no animals in the house, had no overnight guests, and were out before stated checkout. The host was not to be reasoned with. On the contrary, the only animals in the house were spiders in multiple rooms. The only damages were pre-existing rotten lawn chair fabric we fell through, rotten grill cover held on with stones, rotten/broken mini blinds, and a nail sticking up out of the living room floor for someone to injure themselves on. The impression left on us is that they want to maintain the bare minimum and profit as much as possible even if it means dishonesty. They have the neighbors spy on you, and take their perception as reality, when they can't possibly know the whole truth.
Clean cozy and comfy. Kitchen well stocked. Great washer/dryer. Tiny bathroom with blasting hot shower, minimal toiletries. Yappy dogs on one side, sweet lab on the other. Street is a bit busy. Excellent location. Will definitely return!
I was only there for one night, I had a good night’s sleep in a comfortable bed. The cottage was clean and the neighborhood was quiet. It was just what I was looking for in Blanding.
This was a perfect place to lay our heads after adventure filled days. Beds were awesome and the place was clean and cozy. Thank you so much for the stay!!
This 2-bedroom house had enough space, comfy beds and even a washer and dryer. All surfaces, appliances, the sink, etc. were super clean. The owner provides not just a coffee maker, but the filters, coffee, powdered creamer and sugar. They also had a drawer with many sizes of zip-lock storage bags which come in very handy when we're travelling and storing snacks, making sandwiches, etc.
Each bedroom had a charging cube with multiple USB ports plus 'regular' outlets. There were digital clocks in each room, a few night lights and various other small but very appreciated touches. I highly recommend this property.
We used it as a home base after travelling down Rt. 95 from Capitol Reef NP, stopping at Natural Bridges on the way to Blanding. From there we visited the Needles District of Canyonlands NP, then south to Monument Valley, Gooseneck State Park and others in the area.
Was a cute little house, easy to get too. Both mattresses have a dip in the middle. Consider replacing. Could not adjust the temperature of the house. Too hot at night. Kitchen fully stocked. Plenty of linens.
The property was very clean and conveniently located. However we were having a heat wave and the swamp cooler did nothing but push hot air around. Other than that, it was fine.

What makes this property unique
The cottage was the home of Albert R. Lyman, one of the founders of Blanding. One of his many roles was as a shoe maker, and his cobbler shop is still in the backyard!
