About this property

The Grand Escape - Affordable 4BR/1.5BA Cabin in a Great Location!

Our rustic getaway is a wonderfully located family retreat with abundant wildlife around (moose, fox, bear, elk, deer). The cabin is a couple minute walk from Columbine Lake and a five minute drive to historic Grand Lake village or Rocky Mountain National Park. Visiting Estes Park is a nice day trip via a scenic drive through rocky mountain national park on trail ridge road.

Grand Lake and the surrounding area has plenty to do in all seasons. Choose from golfing, boating, hiking, wildlife viewing, four-wheeling, shopping or just relaxing on the deck or by the campfire. In the winter, snowmobiling is unbelievable (with forest trail access directly from our cabin) and skiing is nearby (cross-country skiing at the Grand Lake Nordic Center just outside our neighborhood, Granby Ranch about 20 minutes away or winter park about 40 minutes away.)

The cabin is rustic and sleep space has been maximized. Pictures are representative of the cabin. The main level has a bedroom with a queen bed, comfortable chair and desk. The loft has two single beds, a double bed and a huge bean bag. The staircase to the loft is spiral and may require adult supervision for small children. The bottom level has two bedrooms, one with bunk beds, the other with a queen bed. The bottom floor bedrooms have wood doors for privacy but they don't lock (for safety safety purposes as there are no window egresses in those rooms). There is a full bath on the main level and a half bath on the bottom level.

**Please note that the cabin is located in Columbine Lake, a private covenant-controlled community. Renters are not allowed to use the clubhouse, gazebo, horse pasture, OHVs or Columbine Lake for any purposes. Not to worry, boating and fishing opportunities are abundant in the Grand Lake area. Don't hesitate to ask if you need suggestions. Also, due to weather or other risks, the HOA or county may issue fire bans that limit the use of the firepit.**

Grand Lake Getaway

Very nice property in a quiet setting, convenient to Grand Lake. Well maintained and comfortable. Especially like the deck at the front of the house which receives morning sunshine. Four deer grazed just below the deck one morning. Do be aware that although there are bedrooms on the ground floor, the main bedroom and kitchen and living room require walking up 12-14 steps.

Loved it!

July 2018 - I cannot express how happy we were staying here. Our family of 3 adults 1 child had plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked with all the little things that you need here and there. (foil, zip lock bags, wine opener, etc). The house is perfectly nestled in a quiet neighborhood, the neighbor next door was a sweetheart. . The beds were comfortable and clean. The roadway to the cabin was paved and easy on our vehicle. The yard is small and not leveled so it can be hard on little feet, but still very nice since it is secluded. We will definitely come back!

Wonderful all around!

All 7 of us loved the AFrame and its beautiful and peaceful surroundings. And we were so grateful that the fire evacuation was over before we arrived at dusk. A grandson spotted a baby deer in back yard while lounging in one of several rustic, wooden chairs, and we all spotted moose finally on one several big hikes. Kitchen well equipped but for a colander we needed for Greek pasta. Knives could be a bit sharper but these were minor inconveniences, of course, which we worked around. Plenty of adorable moose depictions inside!

Thank you for the great family memories

We really enjoyed our time at this cozy cabin in the beautiful woods next to the Rocky National park. The owners were very welcoming. We had one question we texted and they got back to us in less than 15 minutes.

Perfect Cabin Minutes Away from the Rocky Mountain National Park!

We loved staying in this well-appointed cabin in the Columbine Lake area. It was an amazing spot to come back to after a long day of hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Park. The cabin had everything we needed, from the basics like paper towels and dish soap, to wireless internet and a clothes washer and dryer. Waking up in the morning and seeing three deer by the firepit was a great start to the day! We loved the close proximity to not only the RMNP, but also to Grand Lake. The town of Grand Lake is quaint but has everything you may need during your stay. We look forward to coming back to this wonderful place in the near future!

Great getaway for 40th

Kids had a blast with all the games at cabin. Great time of year as leaves were in full change. Very close to motorcycle trails which was awesome. Great communication with owners.
