CHECKING IN
All guests will be met at the house by the house manager or a greeter for check-in and to answer questions.
Please be reminded that this home has only one upstairs bathroom with a shower (no working bath) and a half bath downstairs.
GUEST ACCESS
Other than some closets with personal belongings, guests will have full access to this glorious and sculptural space.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Situated in a rural environment but very close to the world-renowned Gilmore Car Museum and one hour from Frank Lloyd Wright's The Meyer May House, The Gerald Ford Presidential Library, and Meijer Gardens and Sculptural Park in Grand Rapids. Ann Arbor and "The Big House", Frank Lloyd Wright's Palmer House and the University of Michigan are 85 miles away.
The Meyer house is a 15-minute drive to the many restaurants and brewpubs in the quaint city of Kalamazoo. Lake Michigan and the charming towns of Saugatuck, South Haven, and Holland are one hour away.
Southwest Michigan is filled with highly regarded golf courses, public parks and a number of rivers and lakes, some with public access for boating, kayaking, and other forms of outdoor recreation.
The Bi-annual Gilmore International Keyboard Festival (Kalamazoo) and annual Art Prize (Grand Rapids) are events that draw tens of thousands from around the world. Music lovers are likely to find a classical or jazz concert nearby. Lucky gamblers may gravitate to The Firekeeper's Casino or The Gun Lake Casino, both within 30 minutes.
A guidebook with "Things to Do" will be in the house. Reach out in advance if you would like suggestions, but most guests stay to enjoy a rural getaway with peace and quiet surrounded by nature. Perfect for bird watchers.
