This rental was Amazing! Tasteful decor, super clean, easy to find, private. The big lake as our scenery was the highlight. We had miles of sandy beach to explore. All that and pet friendly to top it off. We will be back to the Lake House again!
The house was more than you could ask for. Jason always responded promptly. The view was amazing.
Too bad the area does not recycle.
It will be very hard to find a better place.
Incredible , huge home directly on the shore of Lake Superior. Supplies and equipment were plentiful!! The owner even allowed us in an hour early! Very clean and perfect for our family that needed three separate bedrooms! We will be back! Thanks for the amazing memories!!
The Lake House is even more beautiful than the pictures depicted. We explored water falls and beaches from Ironwood to Copper Harbor, The Lake House made a perfect base, and a treat to come back to each day! Looking forward to our next visit!
Would highly recommend. Beautiful sunsets, starry skies, plenty of space. Our family enjoyed our stay. We hiked the Porcupine Mountains, took a copper mine tour nearby and relaxed by the lake. Thank you!
A beautiful house with even more beautiful view of Lake Superior. The sunsets are breathtaking. Bonfires by the beach complements the waves. Loved drinking coffee in the morning or sipping on a glass of wine in the evening while gazing into the endless horizon. Loved cooking and baking in that big kitchen. There were plenty of dishes and cookware. Would go back on a heartbeat!! Thank you!!
Beautiful large home on Lake Superior with many amenities. Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The lake view and lake access are wonderful. The rooms offer plenty of areas for activities. Attached garage was nice. We had a snowstorm and watched the scenery go from bare ground to snow-covered! The kitchen was very nice for a large group. A few more kitchen utensils, baking sheets and silverware would be a suggestion. Owner quickly answered any messages we sent! A great stay and would recommend!
This was our 2nd stay at the Lake House since Fall 2019. It is a wonderful home with plenty of space to relax and has great views of Lake Superior from every seat in the house.
Jason is a great host and makes everything easy with the check-in / check-out process and is always quick to help with any questions.
Really enjoyed our stay and wish it would have been longer. Hope to visit again one day.
We highly recommend the Lake House as a spot to stay if you are vacationing in the Ontonagon area!
Beautiful property right on Lake Superior. Convenient to the Porcupine Mountains and to Ontonagon but set back far enough to be quiet and isolated. Lots of room, good internet, and plenty of amenities. Host was very easy to work with and communicative. Highly recommend.
This trip was mainly to have a time out. Two sets of couples married for 15 plus years. Both couples have 4 kids... some are teenagers... we literally needed to have rest, relaxation and a parent time out! This place was amazing. We did not have the best weather when we went but we enjoyed sitting on the couch and watching the waves. It was just peaceful. The kitchen was amazing and we loved just hanging out at the counter chatting. The beds were comfortable and I loved that with the bad weather we could pull in the garage and unload right to the kitchen instead of getting soaked. A very amazing place, amazing view. Only suggestion would be if you go here bring a game to donate to the house. There is not a huge game selection that I found and the games I did find were missing pieces. There needs to be a dedicated game shelf with puzzles and assortment of games for all ages. We could have went and bought some games but it was late when we decided we wanted to play a game.
We will definitely be coming back here again! We loved it!
Great place to stay near Porcupine Mountains State Park
The house is beautiful with amazing views of the lake and plenty of living and storage space. It's set off the road and very private. We enjoyed walking the beach at the house and a lovely night around the fire pit. The sunsets and stars on clear nights were amazing. its very convenient to the State park and it was nice to be able to park in the garage.
We had plenty of kitchen supplies. There were 2 types of coffee pots- a drip and a keurig, which was great.
Pantry items were sparse. They had both coffee pods and some unlabeled ground coffee. Other than that it seemed to be random spices and items that others had left behind. We usually bring everything we need, but are used to kitchens at least having salt and pepper, and this was not the case.
The house itself was very clean overall, but we found extremely dirty dishes stacked in the cupboards (bowls from some sort of pasta and sauce that had clearly been put away not even rinsed, with dried on food) and a child's dirty bathing suit in a dresser drawer. We also found an envelope requesting tips for cleaning, which feels inappropriate when we are already paying a cleaning fee.
The king bed in the primary bedroom was comfortable. The other mattresses seemed to be old and extremely soft. Our kids didn't seem to mind, but I don't think adults would have found them comfortable.
There were plenty of towels, tp, and toiletries.
We appreciated the washer and dryer as well. Overall pretty great and would stay here again.
Location, location, location! All rooms in the house were spacious, great deck, backyard, and access to beach area. Enjoyed sunsets, night skies, and sound of crashing waves. Jason was responsive to early communications and ensured all items we asked about were available. Outdoor grill and fire pit area were great. No problems with TV and WiFi. House was clean except for oven and refrigerator. Dining room chairs and mattresses upstairs probably should be updated. Bedside lighting in upstairs bedrooms would be very helpful as well. Quantity of staple items on hand (e.g., paper towels, toilet paper) were not consistent with previous reviews. All in all though we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals and this one is THE BEST! The house is beautiful. It's bigger and more spacious than the pictures show! It's right on the lake making its view amazing! It's a short drive to beautiful scenery and fun activities. It's simply perfect!
Beautiful home on water. We enjoyed the fireplace and fire pit. Took the sightseeing boat to Pictured Ricks. Awesome! Hiked to Chapel and Miners Falls and Miners Castle. Very nice. Try Bear Trap and Buckhorn Resort Restaurants. Very good.
Weather ended up being better than we hoped. Great location for experiencing the outdoors. House was beautiful and well equipped; just needed to show up and enjoy. Everything was there for an outdoor fire, but the weather did not cooperate.
Perfect getaway for our group. We relaxed, walked the beach, hiked the Porkies, and enjoyed a campfire. The house was excellent and had everything we needed. Loved it!
