This was our second time at Tilba Heights. Beautiful location, lovely house. Full of interesting artifacts, artworks and books- the owners clearly expect to have interesting and interested people come to stay. The 33 (I think it was) steps and the steep drive keep us fit. Gorgeous views. Only 5 mins walk to town.
Nice place to stay in Central Tilba. Short walk to cafés pub and shops. Lovely view from porch over the rolling hills & ocean in background. Comfortable place to unwind.
Cheers
we did think we were on a "farm" there was meant to be a horse and paddocks.
However, land was very overgrown outside of the house and not walkable. No horse as far as we saw - we didn't need a horse, but it wasn't a "farm".
Agency was great to deal with.
Bottom stone steps could have done with a rail.
Enjoyed but not sure if would rebook there. Needs a land clearup and a step rail.
Second visit to this property. 5 minute walk to central Tilba without the associated noise and cars going past… lovely walk up the hill to the top of the property with breathtaking views across 2 valleys to the sea which is 10 mins drive away

Very Disappointed
Very steep narrow drive way, due to all the rain it made the trip to the front door somewhat dangerous. Limited turning space.
The house clearly has had no maintenance or upkeep for a while . The carpet in the lounge had numerous burn marks, masking tape to cover torn carpet, a rug was partly glued down, very dangerous, at times we tripped on the rug.
The lounge was VERY uncomfortable, even sitting on a cushion you could feel the springs, should have been thrown out. Bed mattress need replacing. The owner needs to:
Replace carpet in lounge room
Replace lounge suite
Place gravel at the top of driveway to prevent car from sliding on grass,
New mattress

Log cabin
Lovely homey feel. Too many steps to the house, dangers when wet. Too far to collect wood and carry up 35 steps.
Driveway very dangerous very small turning circle. Need 4x car.
Need new mattress on bed sunk into the middle all night.
Fireplace lovely, furniture eg couch could be replaced. Needs a bit of tlc and updating. Also no hairdryer. Well equipped kitchen and lovely Q barbeque.

Overpriced
Dishwasher full, steps very steep not oc health and safety standard, slippery driveway in rain, only 2 bits of firewood upstairs and limited kindling, mixed messages from agents regarding access, bugs on lounge chair. Not welcoming and no point writing in comments book as pages are ripped out.
Agent was helpful when I had trouble making online payment.
House was fabulous, great location, so very quiet and secluded. Felt very friendly and welcoming. Have never had a holiday house with so many excellent books! Steps were a challenge due to crook knee but worth the effort
The place was better than I expected. It was large, a verandah all the way around the house, beautiful views, the sounds of birds, and only 100 metres from the Tilba main street. Will definitely want to go back.
