A Dream of a Woodland House at Lake George

Woodland House at Lake George
_________________________
Woodland House is truly lovely, a dream of a house, where you will feel at home the minute you walk in. NOW FEBRUARY AND MARCH RATES HAVE BEEN REDUCED 10 PERCENT. AND THE WINTER CARNIVAL IS ON EVERY WEEKEND IN FEBRUARY. Just ASK the owner for that when booking.

Americade week, May 27-May 31 is still available! A really comfortable place for a group of Americaders. Eight beds: two queens, one double, four twins, and a cot. And four full bathrooms.

Though there are 47 acres of woods behind it, the house is only 200 feet from the highway--you are not far from civilization! With four really spacious bedrooms and four full baths, it sleeps ten comfortably. All bedding provided but not towels.
Though the house is on the west side of Route 9N and has no direct access to the lake, there are two beaches and playgrounds in Bolton Landing 4 miles and in Lake George Village 6 miles south, Several marinas to rent a boat are within 4 miles away as well,
We designed and built the house on the 47-acre wooded property where you have total privacy and no other houses visible. As one guest put it, "This house has to be experienced to know how perfectly lovely and welcoming and comforting it is."
Its interior of beautiful knotty pine walls and ceilings, including the vaulted ceiling of the great room, and the hardwood floors make for a truly Adirondack experience. Decorations are sparse, "but elegant," as one guest wrote. The four full bathrooms are quite an unusual luxury we are told. And everything you need is provided, others say.
The owner lives 2 miles away will be quick to respond to your questions or problems. Views from the tall windows of the great room are all of woods. in the winter and on chilly nights you will enjoy the propane-fired Vermont Castings "woodstove." A new 55-inch smart TV can be viewed from anywhere in the great room and kitchen. Ping-Pong on the screened porch is fun for all ages. And we welcome your children and pets.

Everyone loves its bright woodwork interior, the unusually well-equipped kitchen with fIve-burner gas stove, the Ping-Pong on the screened porch, the 55-inch smart TV (recently installed, so not seen in the pictures of the living room), the private hiking trail out back that leads you to fine views of the lake and mountains, the Vermont Castings propane-fired woodstove, and especially its total privacy. Children and pets are welcomed. Equipment for small children and pets is available.

UpYonda Farm, environmental education center for all ages 5 miles north. See www.upyondafarm.com. Pack 'n Play and dog bed available. Reliable, extremely fast WiFi, central heat and air conditioning. Large pantry full of pots and pans, electric griddle, many serving dishes; washer and dryer. Large fire pit, three-burner Weber gas grill, and a swing set including a bucket swing out back.
Though not directly on the lake, and offering lovely views of woods and rock ledges but not the lake itself, the house is a short drive away to beaches 4 miles north; boat rental one mile away.
Owner living 2 miles away and prompt in responding to problems or questions.
Open year round.
The house is located ten minutes from both Lake George Village and Bolton Landing. Many boat rental and water sports options in both towns, as well as grocery stores and shopping.
TAX payable is the 4% county occupancy tax, which applies to every rental.

Winter Stay

The house worked well for our group of 8. We had ample space for the group and areas for privacy. The house was clean, the kitchen has a good number of utensils/pots and pans, which is great when cooking for a large group. The hiking path out the back door was great. Stores are a quick drive up the road. The owner was very helpful and made sure to touch base to ensure our stay was going well. Our group enjoyed the stay and I would recommend this to anyone.

Great Place for our Group

Comfortable place to stay for a large group of people. Lots of room to hang-out and visit. Everyone really appreciated the 4 bathrooms! We had one minor maintenance issue, which Melissa (the owner) took care of immediately. Excellent communication with the owner. We enjoyed the private hiking trail too!

Very comfortable

Inside of the house is a little dated but was very comfortable and had just about anything you needed. The ping pong table was a nice feature. The grill couldn’t be used due to a leak when turned on. The outside around the house is woods. Nothing is manicured. So, can’t play bocce. The end of the driveway could be lit up better. Besides that, we really enjoyed our stay and it was nice to find a pet friendly house for the dog. It’s not far from town and is very private.

Felt like home

Melissa was very welcoming and accommodating. We were able to bring our four legged children which very few places allowed. The property was great since we were able to do a private hike with our dogs. The house had all the accommodations we needed. Would definitely stay again. The location was ideal too. Not not far from the village far enough to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Amazing cabin to rent with friends

The cabin is beautiful and has a great layout. There's tons of space and private bathrooms in 3/4 bedrooms. It's a wonderful place to relax and catch up with friends. The living space is cozy with a big dining room table and fully equipped kitchen. The ping pong table is a great touch! And it's only a 5 min drive from Bolton Landing and small lake George Public beaches. Highly recommend!!

Cozy, lovely home

This is a beautifully designed home with plenty of space for a big group (lots of bathrooms, excellent kitchen). It sits near the base of a foothill with great private trails, is across from the lake, yet is still only about 5 minutes from town. The wood interior makes it feel like a spa inside, the art and other fixtures/details are exceptionally tasteful and welcoming.

Comfy cozy

We had a relaxing getaway with family and our dogs. I'm not sure who loved it more! The house is nestled across from the lake with a hiking trail in back. It is between the towns of Bolton and Lake George. The Barrel is close by and we enjoyed a casual dinner and heard a band. Walking the town is easy and not far. Each of the three couples had our own bathroom. Melissa is a wonderful, accomodating host. We most definitely would love to return.

Great experience and location!

We had a very pleasant stay! The property owner called shortly after booking, provided written communication about the property and well- stocked kitchen, and met us at the property to ensure we knew some details about recycling and how to prepare for a winter storm. She went a step above and offered use of a garage for one of our cars, as we had an early morning appointment the day after expected snow. We enjoyed the company of family and friends, and ability to have our Weimaraner stay with us! This was the perfect opportunity to celebrate an early Christmas with family in a desirable location! The woodland setting, private hiking trail, and nearby access to outlets and ski centers were all a wonderful bonus!

The Woodland House

We were looking for a spur of the moment house for a Friends Get Together and we were lucky to find the Woodland House. Three of the four bedrooms had attached bathrooms and were very comfortable. The table was large enough to accommodate all of us and the layout on the main floor was great. Melissa was very attentive and accommodating!!!

Great location. And Melissa is a great host.

House is tuck in woods so it’s super quiet. The house and wood inside was clean and in amazing shape. Melissa was great with any and all information from first call to the checkout. Let us check in as soon as it was clean and ready. 2 hrs earlier than supposed too. We bought our dog and Melissa is so accommodating for pets. Which is rare. Most dog accommodating places are dirty. Not this house. It was so neat organized and clean I was lost for words. Thanks Melissa definitely will see you soon

I grew up in central Virginia but have lived at Lake George since 1985.
It's a pleasure to me to share this beautiful house with others and to make it as comfortable as I can for them. That involves providing reliable, central heating and cooling, an unusually well-equipped kitchen and well-made beds with plenty of extra bedding and in the downstairs rooms mattress warmers, Hot water is abundant. The cooks enjoy the new Weber grill with spare tank of propane. For ambience, there are the fire pit out back and the propane-fired woodstove in the living room.
The Wi-fi, a Spectrum product, give you fast, reliable Internet and cell phone service. The 55-inch smart TV in the living room offers you all your favorite programs and sports.
Equipment for small children is readily available, and your dog is given a clean bed, too.

Why they chose this property

The unspoiled 47 acres of woods around and behind the house give me great pleasure. In fact the woods are protected by a conservation easement so the woods will always be there.
But the villages with many attractions and shops and restaurants plus beaches and special events such as vintage car events, fireworks every week in summer, and musical festivals are only 4 and 6 miles away.
You never lack for an activity for your entertainment. Restaurants and many shops are open year round.

What makes this property unique

We designed and built the house on the 47-acre wooded property where you have total privacy and no other houses visible. As one guest put it, "This house has to be experienced to know how perfectly lovely and welcoming and comforting it is."
Its interior of beautiful knotty pine walls and ceilings, including the vaulted ceiling of the great room, and the hardwood floors make for a truly Adirondack experience.
