Enjoy a weekend of leisure or fun-filled activities in and on the water, the choice is yours! Lake Tillery and the surrounding area have so much to offer. Swimming, fishing, hiking, biking, winery tours, golfing, kayaking and so much more! This beautiful 2-story cottage has 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and can sleep 12 with the following accommodations: 1 king, 1 queen, 1 full upstairs, plus 2 twin beds and 2 sets of bunk beds downstairs. Take in stunning views of the main channel, all while swimming off the dock in a quiet, protected cove with deep water. The home comes equipped with an outdoor grill, and the kitchen has all the necessary basics to prepare your meals. Feel free to use the kayaks, stand-up paddle board, canoe and fishing rods during your stay. Life jackets are available, too. End your day with a vigorous game of ping pong in the games room or put your feet up by the fire pit at the water! Bring your own boat, or rent a pontoon boat at the marina, just 10 minutes away. So much to do, or so little, it s all up to you!

Perfect Thanksgiving Getaway

Family Winter Getaway

The location, property amenities and host communication are 5 stars! Even in the winter, there is plenty to see and explore within 20 minutes. Our boys enjoy the separate space the house provides with ping pong, darts, games.

I cannot say enough good things about this property. The pictures do not do it justice. It is comfortable. It is well stocked. The view and the property are absolutely amazing. Communication with Tim and Sue were top-notch from the moment we booked to after we checked out, they were in constant contact with us. This trip is our annual fall girls trip that we usually do in the mountains this year because of the hurricane, we had to pick a different location And we could not be happier with this property so much so we will be back. Great Staycation

We are a local family from Troy & we were looking for a weekend getaway without having to travel to the coast or mountains. This was perfect! Extended family was anle to come & enjoy all that this property has to offer.

Great location with comfy's of home

We typically go to Lake Lure and this was our first time here -- we are now converts! Tim and Sue were great to work with and very responsive. Lots of room for family, lots of games, and firepit (and gift s'mores!) were icing on the cake. Will definitely come back.

Best week ever!

Our family has been going to Lake Tillery now for almost 10 years. We have stayed at 6 or 7 houses on the lake and always had a great time. However this is by far the nicest of the bunch. The location is prime with a beautiful of the lake from the back porch. The two floors provide a great barrier between older folk wanting a nice quiet evening by the lake an younger people wanting to play games such as ping pong darts... Great Stay!

Best House Ever

This home was the 9th rental we have made on Lake Tillery. Herons Cove is by far the best house in the best location (for us) and the Yulls are beyond great to work with. Our vacation was over last week and we have already made our reservation for next year. Clean house, wonderfully appointed and great location. What more could you ask for?

Perfect Lakeside GETAWAY

This house really is the perfect getaway. Fully stocked with everything you need. Sue was amazing with communication and even supplied us with our first batch of s'more goodies. The house if in the best quiet cove that was perfect for fishing and swimming and play with all the water toys! We are already preparing a time where we can come back. Ive already recommended this home for my friends and other family members. Come stay here trust me!!! Thank you for all the wonderful memories we were able to make here

Summer vacation

We had a great time at the lake, the house was great had all we needed for a week's home away from home. Kids enjoyed the water, did lots of swimming and fishing. We stayed in and cooked daily the kitchen was fully stocked with whatever we needed. We truly enjoyed ourselves. Hope to return next year!

This stay was so wonderful for so many reasons. The home and the dock with all of the “toys” was all that anyone could want. Mornings on the deck were great, and evenings watching the sunset were beautiful. This place has a very special place in our hearts.

We’ve stayed here 4 times now. Teenagers love the basement with pingpong, darts and games. Canoes always get used and fishing off the dock is great! Newly updated firepit area is beautiful!

Amazing Memories were made

We rented the lake house to come from Rhode Island and spend some time with our father who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 terminal lung cancer and lives in North Carolina. The house was absolutely beautiful and we are so happy we got to make some new memories here with our father in such a beautiful home and amazing scenery. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 7 children from 5 months to 16 years of age and all enjoyed themselves very much... would love to come back at some point hopefully while my dad is still with us

Wonderful lake home. Best lake vacation ever.

This beautiful lake house is one of the most wonderful homes we have stayed in. This house has everything a family needs to spend a vacation full of relaxation, fun, and comfort. The house is impeccably clean. The patio and yard, too. Its owners have worked very hard to give the best to their guests. The kitchen is spacious, full of everything you need to cook any meal. The rooms were excellent, and the beds were extremely comfortable and clean. On the lower floor there is a large and spacious game room. My kids had a lot of fun playing on the pool table. They had a blast and they want to return soon. My husband is a fisherman, and he had a great time,too. He fish a lot from the dock. Even a 12-pound catfish. That fish made his trip very memorable. We have our own boat and we brought it with us. We can't wait to return. We want to thank the owners.They are exceptional, they were so nice & they gifted us the supplies to make smores. We really enjoyed their fire pit, and the gas grill, and we cooked several meals there. We can't wait to visit this wonderful lake home again. We have had a wonderful experience. THE BEST!! 🙏

Peaceful place to stay

This is the perfect place to stay away from your regular busy life. Very quiet, beautiful views, marvelous sunset. The cabin has a lot of games for everybody and we loved it. Sue and Tim were very nice and always responsive. Only one inconvenient and it is the trash disposal. You have to take it with you at the end of the stay and the nearest disposal place is 10 minutes away. For the rest, I will go back another time and recommend the stay to my friends.

A perfect North Carolina stay

Wonderful, quiet, friendly cove with phenomenal sunsets. A super family friendly set up with every detail laid out. We enjoyed, the canoing, kayak, fishing (bring what you like to fish with),awesome star gazing and local hiking at Mt Morrow. Sue and Tim do a great job

3rd stay, this place has it all

This place checked all the boxes. We initially only used it for winter, cuz the downstairs games room- pool, ping pong, darts, and more kept us plenty busy. And the winter sunset view is superb up the cove. We recently rented (fall) and we're able to get full use of all the water crafts. New fire pit. S'mores! Very professional rental. All you need. One of our favorites!!!!

My husband and I found this gem of a cottage last year and have spent many weekends here with family and friends. Our boys (12 & 14) have brought their friends to enjoy boating, kayaking, swimming and all around outdoor fun. It's a fantastic spot with some unique benefits, in terms of space and location. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

Our place is ideal for family get-togethers or to simply relax and enjoy the serenity of the lake. We have ample space for 2 or 3 families of 4, with space downstairs for kids to kick off their shoes, play pool, ping pong, play board games, watch a movie or read. We provide clean linens and bath towels and the house is equipped with all the basics you need to make your meals. You won't be disappointed here!

What makes this property unique

The Heron's Cove is a unique property, in that it's located in a large, quiet and protected cove, but still provided stunning views of the main channel. The downstairs provides an excellent space for kids to escape while adults enjoy some quiet time of their own.
