The Guest House at Te Whau Retreat is a beautifully crafted accommodation on Waiheke Island. Enjoy stunning sunsets over the city skyline and Rangitoto Island from this elegant A-frame studio which has been finished to a high standard for guests. Te Whau Peninsula is an area of beautiful life-style blocks and provides some of the best walks and glorious views and vistas on the Island. The property is a short drive to the 240 hectare Whakanewha regional park, Rangihoua Olive Estate, the vineyards, restaurants and white sandy beaches of Onetangi as well as Waiheke s iconic Saturday farmers market.

What a wonderful rental. We spent 5 days here after a busy week long trip on South Island and it was perfect. The unit was will equipped with everything we needed, the views are even better than the pictures and there’s just a lovely sense of peace. It’s about a 10 minute drive into town where there’s more going on, but we were looking for solitude and got what we needed.

Amazing Hideaway Retreat
Photos did not do this property justice as your first glimpse is a spectacular vista encompassing Auckland City Skyline. The Guesthouse was spacious with plenty of room for a studio. Sunsets across to Auckland CBD were truly majestic with either setting sun or lit up for the night. So peaceful and tranquil, such a lovely pleasant get away. We will be back again as so many vineyards & Restaurants to dine in. Thank you Te Whau Retreat for our fab weekend :-)

The Bach was stunning with amazing views. It’s actually better than the photos as it doesn’t show the living area which was a nice surprise. Would definitely stay again and recommend. Kitchen - has every appliance needed to prepare, cook & eat dinner Living area - lovely L shape sofa with TV and dining table Bed - Lovely, comfortable King Size bed Amazing views and seating outside. Just wish there was a firepit on the deck for cold evenings but overall we loved the stay!!

While view was beautiful we could not use the hot tub because it was too dirty. We tried to clean out some of the excess hair but could not. This was very disappointing as was the main reason we picked this property.

Lovely spot
This was a great base for our long walk around the vicinity. We were upgraded to the Cottage at Te Whau Retreat which was a lovely relaxing private environment with a great view. Our only niggles were that the bed in the Guesthouse we had booked was a Super King and we ended up with a Queen in the Cottage and there was nothing in the shower to hold toiletries, not even a soap dish. We also couldn’t find a dish cloth. We highly recommend Rob from Drive Waiheke, who was recommended to us by the property manager for our transfers.
