This is a comfortable place that can be enjoyed by a good size family. The lake is the making of it. It could use some small improvements that would make a big difference. It is off the beaten path. No wifi. But over-all an enjoyable place.
Everything was as stated in the listing. Was peaceful and had plenty of room. Our son and daughter in law came and joined us and was supposed to leave on Sunday but was enjoying themselves too much to leave. They ended up staying until Tuesday morning. The lights in the kitchen were very dim, but other than that, it was worth it.
We enjoyed our weekend stay and some good fishing! We had one little setback, but Diane responded promptly and got it taken care of. I would definitely stay here again in future.
Nice place for weekend fishing trip. Place was clean and well equipped with what we needed. I only had two things I noticed…a lot of light bulbs were burnt out and some of the electrical outlets needed attention, as a lot of them wouldn’t work.
We would here stay again.
We had a nice relaxing stay.Checking in and out was great. We caught fish from the pond, saw a small alligator cruising around the pond ftom a distance. The weather was a little rough didnt get the chance to fish from the dock.It was very relaxing looking out at the water from the deck.Other than the poor lighting over the stove we enjoyed our stay.Hostess was very nice.
Quiet, secluded location at the end of a dead end road. My only complaint was there were a few roaches we saw(2or3), and some dirty cleaning rags left beside the shower in the master bathroom. Everything else was fine. This place was fine for a fishing trip, but i wouldn't necessarily recommend for a family trip. Roughly 15 to 20 minutes to the nearest town .
We enjoyed this cozy place while visiting family who live nearby. The owner is quick to respond and seem to be great, humble people! Would love to come back during the summer time.
We really enjoyed our stay here. We caught Bream, Crappie, Striped Bass, Largemouth bass and bait fish all from the pier. Would definitely stay here again.
The vacation was fantastic, the place looks fabulous, peaceful, nice sounds of river waves, very beautiful porch! Thank you Diane for having us there, thank you for turning on lights for us because we were unexpectedly late.. Everything was wonderful!
Amazing decor and so peaceful. We experienced nature and relaxed. We fished and saw turtles in the pond. The sunset was awesome. The sunroom was nice to eat at and look at the lake. Recommend this property for relaxing and fishing.
Needs some updates and repairs but very clean. Boat dock has no rails so no suitable for small children. Hot water is extremely hot. Needs a new sofa for sure . I would rent again. We had a good time.
This was our family's third stay at this property and we enjoyed it once again. The fishing was tough until the last day; but we still had a good time relaxing and enjoying each other's company. It's a great out-of-the-way, woodsy getaway.
We had a great time. The home was clean and met all of our needs. The fishing dock was nice for lakeside fishing and we also had Fireworks off on each corner. The owner lives close by and was very helpful with any concerns we had. We will be coming back again ..I just hope we can stay longer the next visit.
My husband and myself have been married for 19 years. We actually exchanged our wedding vows at Lake Walter F. George on April 1st. We have two daughters; one 29 and one 14, a seven year old granddaughter and a three year old grandson. We are both in the agriculture business and have been our entire adult lives. We attend church at Preston Baptist Church and are both active in our community.
Why they chose this property
We have loved the lake since we were kids growing up on the water. After we got married we started looking for a place on the lake. This is the first home we purchased as a vacation home and we have really enjoyed the family get-aways. We have an 14 year old daughter that goes to the lake just about every weekend with us; she enjoys the outside activities and has made a friend with the neighbors grandson whom lives there year round. We are located on the end of the street and the traffic is minimal. We live within an hour of the house so we can be there pretty soon if there is a problem.
What makes this property unique
We think you will fall in love with this home just as we did. The view of the lake from the sunroom is breath taking. There are the most beautiful sunsets and the mornings are peaceful and relaxing. There is wild life from the lake; geese, eagles and other birds and the deer, raccoons and other animals are right outside the door. It has the peace and quiet of the country life but close enough to Dothan, AL, Columbus, GA or Albany, GA to get away for a day of shopping and dining or just hang out in Eufaula, AL at the shops or antique stores.
