My husband and I recently sold our beach home of 8 years and we’re looking to take our group of 18 (3 adult children and their spouses and 10 grandchildren ages 5-16) for a change of scenery this year. This property was exactly what we wanted! The home and its adjacent lodge comfortably fit our group, the property made it great for us to be outdoors, and the outdoor pavilion allowed us to cheer on our favorite football team. A bonus was that 4 of my granddaughters are Camp Mystic campers and my daughter in law arranged for us to spend an afternoon enjoying the camp.
John, the owner, went above and beyond by delivering a new cable box to the home on Thanksgiving morning because the tv wasn’t working. Overall a fantastic stay and we will definitely be back!
From the time we walked into the house, we were beyond impressed! The property is beautiful and very well maintained. Everything was clean and fresh. It was so relaxing to be there and accommodations were wonderful. We loved it!
It was exactly as described. We had mostly adults from 85-21 and two 16 year olds and a 4 month old. It accommodated everyone superbly
The pavilion and porches were our go too areas
There was space for games to be going on like cornhole, quite spots to read, poker games, lots of table space and the couches, beds and the dining tables were large and accompanying.
All 4 refrigerators (including the outside one on the pavilion) were very appreciated for that many folks
I hope to come back someday
We had a wonderful experience. Plenty of room for our large family - 10 cousins. Ages ranged from 2-10 and there was plenty of room to run, play games inside and fish! What a wonderful SECOND stay for us. We enjoy this spot so much.
Our family had a wonderful time at the property. We cooked, sat on the porch and watched and listened to the river, played games, watched football and swam in the river. The rest and bonding was much needed and we are thinking about how we can come back with more family/friends. The property is very large and room for many!
Amazing as always. Third year in a row to stay here and as always everything was excellent. We tapped into the boots on the ground Tom for the first time and he was lovely. Our family looks forward to this week together every year because the house is amazing.
I booked this home for a ladies retreat. It was PERFECT for our group of 13 women. The home is gorgeous, rustic and charming, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the secluded peaceful surroundings, the sound of the river, and watching the spectacular sunsets on the hill behind the home. We cooked all of our meals there and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for a large group. We absolutely loved utilizing the outdoor living area for some of our meals and gatherings. It was a beautiful venue for our gathering!
We loved spending time with family at this beautiful and spacious place. We had plenty of room for all the family that came to stay. The house was stocked with everything we needed. So easy!
The property is great for a large crowd. Only a couple of issues. Low water pressure in a couple of bathrooms and the river is not as convenient as the website shows. Otherwise our stay was fun and well worth it. Would recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. 2 nights just wasn’t enough. Plenty of activities for all ages. Beautiful beautiful house with amazing location . Highly recommended place.
We gathered with friends and family and enjoyed our time! The property is gorgeous, easy to access, convenient to town and the summer camps and perfect for gathering with large groups. Will be back!
This is our second time to stay at this property! We absolutely love it! The house is always in great condition, very clean and the outdoor area is fantastic! John is a great host!
Our work family had an amazing time and wish we could go back every weekend. This property has everything you need and more. Fully stocked kitchen, large bedrooms with their own bathroom at the main house and the guest house has a stunning view from the patio. I recommend watching the sunsets from there. We spent most of our time by the river, at the pavilion or on the front porch. John provided detailed instructions and was available when we needed help with the projector screen at the pavilion. We will definitely stay here again and again!
Such an amazing property with tons to do! I recently celebrated my 40th birthday with 15 of my closest girlfriends at river bend ranch and we had a blast. The house had everything you could possibly need and the beds were very comfy. The host quickly responded when I reached out with questions and was super helpful. We will definitely be back soon!
Met 7 other women I have known since first grade! The property was perfect for everyone's needs, as well as comfort. The pavilion was a terrific gathering place. Inside the main house has a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of room to enjoy. Top-notch beds, linens and creature comforts!
Nothing but pure relaxation, beauty and comfort. This property is perfect for getting away from the fray with friends or family. The owners are terrific and pay close attention to every detail!
Wow! The property is fabulous! Each room in the main house is very large with a private bath. Comfortable beds everywhere. The kitchen is nicely stocked. The grounds are gorgeous. Fabulous outside gathering area. Can't say enough - we will definitely be back! Thank you!
Many wonderful spaces inside and out to connect with family and friends. We hope to come back again.

Why they chose this property
As a former Camp Stewart camper and counselor, the time spent together along the Guadalupe is meaningful and priceless. We love gathering with friends and family at the property, something we do year-round! When the property came along it was a must buy and now we are happy to share with you!
What makes this property unique
Outdoor living/dining/entertaining/relaxing is a staple of this property. The riverfront private park and outdoor entertaining porches and pavilion are where we spend lots of our time. We love spending time with friends and family all across the property!
