We were uncomfortable with the neighborhood and the condition of the building so we cancelled our stay but the property host was kind enough to refund our money.
The street of the location makes you think "oh no, what did I get myself into here?"
The house itself is a huge & poor looking panel building. You can hear traffic noise and people talking from the apartments around all the time. We heard doors banging loudly from all over the apartment block even far after 11pm.
I could barely sleep after being exhausted from a 10 hour trip due to all the noise
The claim that the apartment is located in a "prime area" is a very malicious lie.
After the second night of our stay the POLICE woke us up by banging loudly on the apartment door at 8 am. They were searching for a known criminal that "often stays in this house or around it". When we told the policemen that this is a holiday apartment they were freaking out, telling us that the area around the house and the house itself are "THE crime hotspot of Luzern" and we were unfortunately ripped off and they would not recommend anyone to stay there.
Also lots of the inventory and the apartment itself were in a pretty bad shape.
MOLD on top of the bathroom ceiling, the bed nearly fell apart, the chairs were very dirty and the walls were not in a good shape aswell. Took pictures of it all.
This was BY FAR the worst stay we ever had and we checked out after the police woke us up, even though we booked 4 more nights.
The host is refusing to give us a refund ever since, so we are going to take this to court.
We do not recommend this apartment or this host at all - it is a tourist ripoff!
The property manager provided detailed information from our arrival at the train station to entering the apartment. The bachelor apartment was spacious enough for a couple for two nights but no more. The kitchen was too small to make meals and the bottom of the pots and pans were burned and dirty. The unit could be quite nice with some work. Overall it’s not worth the price.
We enjoyed our stay in Lucerne. There were a couple of hiccups during our stay, but each time the property manager worked immediately to resolve it. We would recommend this apartment to someone who wants more space than a hotel room and a small kitchen, but still easy walking access to the center of Lucerne.
