Longbarn is a hidden gem beside the famous Devil's Glen woods in County Wicklow, also known as the garden of Ireland. This is a private and secluded property and hosts 2 separate fully equipped homes with breath-taking views of the Wicklow countryside as far as the Irish Sea. Total accomodation extends to over 4000 sq feet of pure luxury and is steeped in charm. The main house has 3 very large double ensuite bedrooms, and a separate downstairs WC. The 2 downstairs bedrooms have their own double doored private entrances to the extensive gardens. 1 of the bedrooms has an open fireplace. There is a large, well equipped kitchen also with an open fireplace and dining for up to 10 people, with adjoining utility room and pantry. The sunroom/conservatory beside the kitchen can also be used for summer dining (BBQ and outdoor furniture also available). Upstairs in the main home there is 1 further en-suite bedroom with a roll-top bath. There is also a sitting room/TV room at this level (satellite TV, Netflix and wifi all available).

The adjoining guest house has 2 double bedrooms, full bathroom with a rolltop bath, and the large kitchen/living/dining area also boasts a large open fireplace here too. The private gardens surrounding both properties were designed by popular TV gardener Diarmuid Gavin and are well stocked with flowers and shrubs. There are magnificent views from the front of the house of the adjoining horse farm and the Devil's Glen woods. The village of Ashford is a short distance away, with local pubs, restaurants and shops. Beautiful sandy beaches are within easy reach, with Glendalough and the Wicklow National Park a short drive away. Hikers, golfers, horse riders will be spoilt for choice in this beautiful country setting. Ecotourists will love the Devil's Glen woods and waterfall which are on the doorstep.

Perfect!
We are grateful to Mary for allowing us to spend a week with our family in her incredible home. Everything was perfect and just the location to get away from it all. Hiking right from the front door is spectacular. We enjoyed the large kitchen for cooking a few meals and Chester Beatty's is a must stop (we ate there 3 times!). We have only been home a day and miss the Longbarn and the area.

Just Amazing
I don't think I can recommenced this place enough. The property is absolutely beautiful and the accommodations were great. We found it very easy to get into town, Dublin, and the surrounding area. Mary recommended a nearby trail that lead to a waterfall in the woods, a nice little hike we spent our first full afternoon tackling. We spent more of our time at the VRBO than we originally intended -- the view of the surrounding properties was too much to pass on and our evenings in front of the fire were so nice. I think if we come back to Ireland we'll definitely try to stay here again.

Fantastic Vacation Home!
Longbarn is the perfect vacation home for families seeking to enjoy the Irish countryside. The home is gorgeous, spacious, and well-maintained. The grounds are idyllic and a perfect launching point for day trips around Ireland. Mary is a fantastic host. We had the best vacation and wish we could have stayed longer! 5 stars!
