Block Creek Guest House between Comfort & Fredericksburg
Welcome to Block Creek Guest House midway between Fredericksburg and Comfort Texas. Built in 1890 the original structure has been enlarged and updated. The bedroom has solid windows on two sides and the bathroom replicates the early 1900s. It has not lost the flavor of a time gone by, a time when the world turned a little slower. Set in the middle of a large ranch, you will be in the country in a rural setting teaming with deer, turkey and abundance of birds along with a pond and two creeks.

My husband surprised me with a trip to Hill Country. The cottage is adorable and so are the hosts. They made us feel welcome and appreciated. We will definitely be staying at Block Creek Guest House again. We highly recommend it!
We were visiting for a wedding in Fredericksburg and found this gem. Mother Nature didn't cooperate so I didn't see the stars but the flowers and birds made up for it. The hummingbirds were swarming everywhere - an amazing sight to see!! The cabin is comfortable and a great place to sit back, mix a drink, and enjoy the surroundings.

This lovely property is nestled in the quiet, beautiful, peace of the heart of the Texas Hill Country. Even in the middle of the country, this property is very close to Fredericksburg, Comfort, and Boerne and their shopping and dining options. The hosts are two of the most lovely people we've had the pleasure to meet. We'll make sure to build in time to visit with them during our next trip!
Property is secluded and away from the Fredericksburg fray, which was exactly what we were looking for! Every morning we woke to deer, turkeys, geese and birds galore. It was so tranquil and soul resetting. Sharron and Larry were super gracious hosts and became instant friends. Love, love, love the property and house and will return!!
Houst is even lovelier than the pictures make it seem
I can't say enough about Sharron and Larry's hospitality. The house is immaculate. The grounds are beautiful. And they are friendly and very eager to share the history of the house and the property, which they have cultivated to attract a mind-boggling number of birds and butterflies (they host nature photography workshops). Great outdoor spots to sit with a cup of coffee (which they provide on site, along with some snacks).
Two things to be aware of --
1) the property is located a ways in from the main road, so getting to other locations in the area will take a bit longer than you might expect based on the address.
2) although there's not breakfast, this is truly a guest house, so you will have interaction with the hosts in a different way from an isolated cabin
My husband and I had an amazing stay here! It’s so unique and peaceful. I loved waking up to the deer right outside our bedroom windows and walking down to the tank. Larry and Sharon were very friendly and we will be back to stay again!! ❤️ It is a wonderful place to stay to get away from the city life.

Nature Retreat
Block Creek Guest House is set on a private natural area. Beautiful and quiet with everything needed for relaxation. We enjoyed watching deer, turkeys, and so many beautiful birds! Plus it is just a few minutes drive to everything Fredericksburg and the Hill County has to offer. Sharron and Larry are perfect hosts with tips on local restaurants, wildlife in the area and much more. A perfect get-away!
We had a wonderful stay, and Sharon and Jay were most helpful and kind. The cabin and wildlife were outstanding and we will definitely stay there again. We will tell our friends about your cozy cabin on a ranch! Thank you, Sharon and Jay for sharing your little piece of heaven with us! God bless each of you. Sandy and DJ, 4-6-22
This property was absolutely a piece of haven we loved it. The morning views as the sun rises from the relaxing bed was beautiful and the wildlife was just another added bonus to this beautiful ranch. Sharon and Larry were very nice and very welcoming. We will definitely love to come back and definitely recommend this place to anyone just wanting to get away and relax on a peaceful ranch with good host like Sharon and Larry.
We enjoyed our peaceful stay at Block creek B&B it was such an amazing experience waking up to the birds chirping and the deer at our window. All kinds of different birds feeding outside the windows and a nice area to sit outside and watch it all! Will recommend and will return on another anniversary adventure soon
Sharron and Jay have this perfect getaway down to an art. The directions were easy to follow, and the residence was clean and beautifully furnished. We enjoyed browsing through the native plant and animal books as we made new sightings. We are so happy to have discovered this gem in the hill country. We are very thankful that Sharron and Jay share this beautiful part of the hill country with others.
This little piece of Texas heaven was exactly what we needed to take a break and slow down. We enjoyed driving scenic Texas hill country to explore surrounding towns and Old Tunnel State Park. The best part was returning in the evening to enjoy this little treasure with it's wildlife and beautiful surroundings. Sharron and Larry are the best hosts we've encountered and are a true example of Texas hospitality. We loved getting to visit with them and learn some history of the property, etc. The charming cottage was immaculate and Sharron thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable. We look forward to returning to this special little place.
My wife and I had a great time at this quiet and beautiful B&B. Sharon and Larry were great host’s.
We would recommend this location for anybody that was looking to get away and have some peace and quiet.
Wonderful ambient beautiful nature enjoy every bit of it and owner Sharron was amazing very hospitable and great touring around her property. Will definitely come again 5 stars ⭐️
We were not expecting for the home to be so in to the woods but it was a wonderful experience; connecting with nature and enjoying each other’s company during out stay. No TV at home was unexpected but was the only way to reconnect with our surroundings. Loved it
Wonderful experience if you enjoy peace and serenity. Bedroom surrounded with windows to enjoy the view of deer and majestic trees. Small pond stocked with fish for the angler experience.
Secluded and beautiful. Lots of big trees, gardens and wildlife to view with historical significance to all the structures. Wonderful, friendly hosts with very clean and comfortable guest house. Highly recommend.
Everything here was perfect! What a glorious escape. The cabin is modern, yet kept with historical integrity. We enjoyed the wildlife, hiking the property, and the beauty of our surroundings. Sharron and Larry were such gracious and kind hosts; we felt like old friends by the time we left. :) We are already planning our next stay here!
We had a wonderful experience in comfort Texas, the place was amazing specially the bedroom with panoramic views, we enjoyed the quietness of the place and the touch with nature....the food was good near by the place. If you looking for the place to relax and enjoy the nature and the wildlife, that is the place. Sharron and Larry were good hosts, very helpful. Thanks again Sharron for your hospitality and kindness.
We looking forward to go back there again.
We booked this stay on short notice to celebrate our anniversary. What a treat!! The cottage was absolutely perfect. The grounds were what you would expect when in the Hill Country and so much more - deer, turkeys, bunnies, so many different types of birds & the cutest bumblebees. You could stay on site and soak in nature or visit nearby Comfort, Boerne, Kerrville, or Fredericksburg for tons of fun excursions and dining experiences. Thank you for sharing your place with us!
Just what my husband and I needed after the virus isolation.
Loved the cottage and all the wildlife!
Going to return soon!

About the host
Hosted by Sharron Jay
Hi, This is Sharron and Larry Jay and welcome to our Block Creek Guest House. We so enjoy having guests so that they can enjoy our property as much as we do. We have had this Guest House open for over 15 years and have enjoyed it and look forward to your visit.
Why they chose this property
Larry and I had been visiting this large ranch for many decades and when this property was for sale we knew we had to have it. This cottage is on our property. Our 1890 home is near and we believe the cottage is the same age. If you like rural, country living then this is the place to come.
What makes this property unique
This cottage is set on 27+ acres and has a pond which the men usually enjoy the most! We also have two creeks that you can wander along. We feed all year round for birds and wildlife. We have Rio Grande turkey and plenty of deer. Most guests enjoy watching the hundreds of humming birds and colorful songbirds that nest here. The yard is keep flowering for butterflies too. If you like country living you will enjoy it here. We have several outdoor settings that you can enjoy. We are mostly organic with the yard and flower beds. We try to plant only native plants.
