Enjoyable Beach Cottage

We would definitely stay here again! Great location, very clean, & well-stocked. The owners were very easy to get in touch with, not that we had any issues at all! So many nice touches, including a great welcome basket. Looking forward to coming back here next year!

Perfect cottage with a great location!

This was our second stay at The Salty Shrimp. We love this cottage! We love that this home is pet-friendly so that we can bring our pup with us and the owners even provided food and water bowls and a towel just for her. Our favorite thing about this cottage is the location. The beach access is just a short block away and there are so many great restaurants, stores, and activities close by. The home has been extremely clean both times we have stayed there - which is a HUGE plus for us. It is obvious that the owners go to great lengths to make sure guests are happy during their stay. There have even been gift baskets left for us during both of our stays. And the owners reached out to make sure we had everything that we needed after checking in. We hope to stay at The Salty Shrimp again in the future! Thank you to the owners for opening your home and for helping to make our stay comfortable!

Perfect Getaway Spot!

The cottage was spectacularly clean, so cute with the retro kitchen. Great location, and the host, Bridgett, was very kind and responsive to our inquiries. Oh and the pumpkin bread in the welcome basket was delicious!

Perfect Place!

The Salty Shrimp was the perfect location, clean, inviting, and comfy. They had accessories for our dog, board games and toys, and lots of beach gear. We had such a great time here with access to so many shops and restaurants in the general area, and even though it rained every day of our trip we made it to the beach every day with just a super short one block walk. We will be back!

Loved our first trip to the Outer Banks!

This cottage was perfect for us!! It was so clean! Bridgett communicated the details with us and was very responsive if we had a question. The popcorn and sweet bread were both delicious. The coffee was great! We definitely plan on returning. One of the highlights of our trip was “The Wild Horse Adventure Tour!” It’s located in Corolla. It did not disappoint! They use a 12 passenger Hummer as their transport vehicle. Everyone has a great view as well as a comfy seat. Our tour guide, Jeanea, was the best ever!! We are now in love with the Outer Banks!! House was spotless, sufficiently stocked with kitchen items for cooking & eating in & plenty of outdoor seating for lounging on back deck or screened front porch.Loved that it was located within walking distance to beach, grocery store and Nags Head Woods.If you like cozy cottages, ease and walking this is a wonderful choice.

Great time!

Best little house ever! Everything was clean and organized. Even had stuff for our pup. Loved how close it was to the beach and shops. Highly recommend! Owners nice and respond fast! Lots of restaurants around that your pup can join you at. Will be back!

This house was beautiful and very very clean. My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable. (My husband calls it the miracle bed) lol. We would definitely stay there again. Bridgett was our contact and she was very personable. Loved the gift basket with the pumpkin bread. Absolutely delicious.

Amazing getaway

We truly enjoyed our time at the Salty Shrimp.The house had everything that we needed and it was a quick walk to the beach. Our host Bridgett was amazing! We were there during the tropical storm and Bridgett stayed in contact with us to make sure everything was okay. We look forward to going back in the future and highly recommend this rental!!

Quaint, Cozy Cottage

Perfect beach cottage! Loved this beach access - one block from the access itself - quick 2 minute walk down the sidewalk. Can run back to the cottage for lunch, check on your pooch, snag more snacks, etc. Access has a wooden ramp w/out steps and a "beach carpet" that extends a little ways over the dune. You could also just walk the sandy ramp which was mostly flat. The neighborhood was quiet and perfect for bike rides and morning walks. The side yard was great for letting our dog get a little exercise in. The house itself was spotless! The cleanest house we've ever stayed in! Little beach decorations in all the right places, comfy beds, cool retro kitchen appliances, front porch was screened and perfect for people watching, enjoyed the back deck,e tc etc etc. If we could add something to make this house an even better place to stay, we'd add a second bathroom, or a half bath at least. It was challenging for all 5 of us to use the same bathroom, but we made it work for the week. The communication was awesome as well and we appreciate everything that goes into getting a house ready for a family to have a super beach vacay! Would definitely rent again in the future!

Nags Head cottage

The property is older, needs some work but it was very clean even though it allows dogs, but you would never know that its that clean. Our contact Bridgette was very nice and easy to work with. Only complaint was it stated it had 3 TV's, which it did but only 1 TV worked in living room with cable, the other 2 in 2 of the 3 bedrooms did not work at all. There was no cable attached to them , had DVD's? Not sure why? does anyone use DVD players anymore?

Great Stay

Cozy and comfortable home. Walking distance to the beach was perfect with two little children and a dog. Home was as listed and the welcome gifts were great. Would highly recommend for small families or group of friends.

What a delightful cottage!

we love the beach and this cottage was a perfect place to stay. Everything you might need they provided ....beach chairs, fully equipped kitchen with everything you could ask for, comfortable beds, charcoal for the grill. Just a short walk to the beach with access just at the end of the road. Check in was easy and all the information you could need with local activities and places.to go and things to do right at your fingertips. My husband loved the retro clock.in the kitchen and we now have one in the bedroom. Bridgett was.great and responded immediately to my inquiries. I greatly appreciate d all her help. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Exceeded expectations

From the well-appointed kitchen, games and books, and fantastic location this cottage exceeded our expectations. In addition to being a very short walk to the beach, it’s in the perfect location for visiting Jockey’s Ridge State Park, Wright Brothers Memorial, The Nature Conservancy trails, and more. We walked to Mahi Mahi for a great dinner and down to Booty Treats for shaved ice and ice cream. Overall, we loved this cottage and would love to return.

Awesome location!

Perfect location!! Short walk to beach! Restaurants close enough to walk. Perfect size for our family of 4. Nice and clean and lots of great amenities! We would definitely stay here again!!

A little bit of heaven

This was wonderful. The cottage was the right size for us and it was beautiful. The owner was great and kept in touch with us. If the weather had been better it would have been perfect. It rained and rained and rained. We had to cancel some of our plans because of it. I hope that we will be able to return in the future.

Lived up to all the reviews and then some!

The Salty Shrimp lived up to every review and then some! Location is perfect! Literally open the door and walk a short block to the ocean! So many shops and places to eat within walking distance. Super convenient to be able to order a groceries and only take a 5 to 10 minute drive to pick up. Every type of restaurant within a 5 to 10 minute walk. The house was super clean and well taken care of. We were delighted to walk in and find a cute welcome basket with fresh blueberry lemon bread! The house has everything you will need to enjoy a day at the beach or a cookout on the back deck. Fully equipped kitchen. Beds were super comfy. Open all thebl windows and listen to the ocean waves and enjoy the breeze! Didnt have any issues and the only 2 times i had to reach out to local management they were super quick to respond and went out of their way to give us some great insight on places to eat and sight seeing info. Easy check in and check out process. Simply couldnt have been a better experience! Will DEFINITELY be back to stay again but will probably add a few days!

Super close to the beach

My husband and I stayed here with our 5 year-old daughter and two dogs. We loved this property. It was very clean and very close to the beach access. Loved the screened in porch. Close to lots of activities and restaurants. Will definitely be looking to book this house again in the future.

Great house and location

We throughly enjoyed the salty shrimp. You can’t beat the closeness to the beach and distance from stores/restaurants etc. The house was very clean and well maintained. The host was very responsive. We recommend!
