Lovely cabin by the lake
** The good stuff: Lovely mid century cabin. Swans just in front of the house lots of fun to watch. Lake is exquisite. Ocean beach is an easy walk along the foreshore. Kitchen simple but adequate. Linens and beds comfortable and very fresh. I was worried about mosquitos but flyscreens were up to the job. No flyscreens on big doors, but in truth those doors are too heavy to bother with so we didn't really use them. **Room for improvement: listing said DVD player and sadly there was none (might be an issue for people with kids). A good chunk of one morning was taken up trying to ignore a guy who rocked up unannounced and drove a ride on mower around the yard, then the whipper snipper, then leaf blower. Kind of shattered the tranquil thing. Had to call the agent a few times before got through to any one despite promises someone would call. ** Overall, lovely cabin. Quiet, private, pretty when the lawnmover bloke isn't on the job.

The lake shack was perfect!
Being 10m from the lakes edge we watched the swans, cygnets and pelicans glide by. The 30 min walk along the board walk into town was a perfect distance before and after dinner. This little shack reminded me of the one we stayed in as kids, no frills but perfect for a few nights away relaxing, reading and eating great food (Winery cruise, Soda Fish and the pub). We took the 15 min walk to the beach via golf course. Plenty of shells to find on the beach and lots of seals to see on the winery boat cruise Great holiday destination.

Great location
Came for a boys weekend fishing trip. Enjoyed our time. Only criticism is there were mouse droppings in kitchen cupboards amongst dishes.

Ideal location and orientation.
Location and orientation is great. Secluded/Private and sheltered from the elements. Sitting out the back on the edge of the lake was great even with strong gusts of wind. Didn't seem to touch us. The only thing I would change is master bedroom curtains - too thin. The master bedroom is the lightest room in the house it would seem. When the sun rises, so do you. Not great if you want to get to bed after 9:00 and sleep for 8 hours. Eye masks didn't even cut it. in hindsight, we could have hung a blanket from the curtain rail to block out morning light.
