About this property

Mt. LeConte view, Pickle Ball, Firepit, Fireplace, Hot Tub, Duck & Turtle Pond.

THIS CABIN IS NOT AT 1304 MATTHEWS HOLLOW!!!
Duck & Turtle Pond

There will be a Pickle Ball court on the property in February.

This 2 bd, 2 ba cabin has amazing views of the mountains from it's wall of floor- ceiling windows. It sleeps 6 w/ a King size bed in the master bedroom upstairs, Full size bed on the main floor and queen sleeper sofa on the main floor. The hot tub is brand new. This cabin sits on 12 acres and is great for hiking around. There is a gazebo and outdoor wedding chapel for Destination Weddings - at an extra cost and permission must be obtained first. Firepit on property.
There is a gazebo and outside chapel on the property also with beautiful views of the mountains. This area can be rented as a wedding venue, but it has to be pre-approved first by Kathryn. There are 8 cabins on the 12 acres, but only 4 on the street that your cabin is on. While you have your own bench swing outside of Gnome Sweet Gnome, there is also a bench swing across from the cabin with a beautiful view of Pigeon Forge and the mountains, a charcoal grill and picnic tables. On the property, behind Tanner Manor Lodge (cabin #1231) there is a trail that leads to a community Firepit (bring your own wood) and there's a hose there to put it out after using it.
There is an EV charger at one of our cabins, The Vieux, that is a short walk away. Be sure to bring your adapters if you have a Tesla, the connector is the J1772. Just let Kathryn know if you are going to need to use it while you are there so she can arrange it with the other guests.

We have 9 properties all together listed on VRBO. 1 is a condo in Gulf Shores, Alabama directly on the beach. #1148035. The others are ALL on the same 12 acres in Pigeon Forge like Kissing the Clouds. We have a Destination Wedding Venue as well. When you rent The Vieux #2609521 for at least 2 nights, you can use the Wedding Venue for free and have the reception at The Vieux. Here are out other properties in Pigeon Forge.
The Vieux sleeps 20 #2609521
The Ranch sleeps 8 #3323676
The Duck & Turtle Pond sleeps 6 #7565732
The Loft sleeps 4 #3323255
The Nest sleeps 4 #3325746
Kissing the Clouds sleeps 4 #3325752
The Nuthouse sleeps 2 #3325751
The Beehive sleeps 2 #3325745

Virtual tour is NOT this cabin. It is 1 we had and sold. I can't figure out how to get it removed. Same with the address - ask me for the correct address after you book. I can't get it changed on here to show the new address.

Family vacay

We loved the property. Our family had a great stay and will probably return. VRBO had the wrong address listed on their email but the property manager had sent us the correct address and was easy to communicate with.

Atop roadies

Easy on app and communication was good Walk-in shower is downstairs. Step in tub shower upstairs. Need bath mat in the up stairs or no slip surface applied There are some things that need fixing in downstairs bedroom. One bedside lamp doesn’t have a place to plug in. Outlet has tape over it. Other lamp doesn’t have all on on the off on switch so had to unplug to turn off Driveway is concrete but the hairpin turn on the hill is hard to negotiate with a van. Is a lively spot and close to everything but traffic on those two lane winding roads is horrendous

Series of little mishaps

The cabin was nice just not well maintained there were roaches in the kitchen, the balconies had cobwebs, the front screen door was broken, the pull out sofa mattress cover was blood stained the futon in the living room was broken there were no extra sheets for the pull out bed. The day after arrival at around 8:30am I get a text from the property manager asking if I got her previous messages about repair men coming during my stay and that one of them was outside already and no idea what time the other would arrive. Then she asks me to take pictures of a whole in the ceiling of the first floor bathroom that needed to be repaired so she could let the repair men know who left once he realized we were there. After getting dressed and ready to leave for the day the electrician shows up with an assistant saying they need access to the house for a few hours so now I have to leave complete strangers alone in the house with all of our personal belongings with only an apology for inconvenience stating it could only be done during my stay. Return from our activities for the day around 11pm and the bathroom lights don’t work anymore. Contact property manager no answer contact VRBO and they have no answer for me so we spent the rest of our time with no lights in the bathroom. We check out and the property manager apologized again and issued a $25 refund. We will not be staying there again

Family Stay

This was a wonderful property with excellent space for our family trip. We had a wonderful time. We will definitely try to stay here again for future trips. The location was great! Close enough to everything but also gave us a remote space as well. The property owners were absolutely wonderful!!!

Beautiful location and house

Don’t let the outside fool you. This house is very nice inside and spacious. The location is beautiful and private. My girls enjoyed the hot tube and WiFi access. The adults enjoyed the bedrooms. We will use this house again.

Fantastic cabin

The cabin was perfect! 2 levels with 4 bedrooms, surrounded by mountains. The area was quiet. We had sufficient essentials in the cabin, and the host was really nice and responsible. Loved it!

Would not recommend.

This cabin looked perfect but it fell short by a lot. The hot tub did not get hot until the next morning. Check out was at 11 and did not get to enjoy it at night like we planned. This was our main reason for getting the room. I’ve never had a horrible experience but it was cold enough to be uncomfortable. The maid had filled it up last with well water is what the owner said at last minute. When we went inside to get a hot shower from the cold hot tub there was no water pressure. The shower was the other reason we rented the property over others. A nice big two person shower with no water pressure. This made my husband very angry so it made for a terrible trip. There was not enough seating in the living room for my husband and my two kids. It says it sleeps 4 but there wasn’t even room for 4 to sit and watch tv. I will not be going back to this cabin.

the cabin was more than expected very clean, the cabin was fully supplied, the shower was fantastic, the hot tub was relaxing and the view was beautiful. We stay more in the cabin than go into pigion forge it was so relaxing their. Even our Dogs loved it their , we took them on long walks along the roads and they relax while we where gone. we respect what the owners did do the cabin. we found that others before us did not , they did not walk the dogs , and left the air on 62,which was sad for us because this is a great place too rent

Great stay & look forward to our next trip!

The Nest is such a cute cabin! Just large enough for our family of four. The shower looked brand new and it felt like we were at a spa. The TVs having the extra features such as Netflix and YouTube were an added bonus we weren’t expecting. The price for what you get can’t be beat and we’ve stayed in countless cabins over the past 25 years. Just be sure to take a smaller-ish car with you. It’s the last cabin down a small drive and the turn around can be tricky if you take a large truck. Can’t wait to book again!

Perfect Getaway- the Nest

This cabin was the perfect getaway. It’s a good distance from all restaurants, attractions, and the Smokies! All of the amenities (fully equipped kitchen, hot tub, washer, dryer, etc) really made the stay complete. I would highly recommend this cabin and would definitely stay again should the opportunity arise!

Sweet little retreat

This awesome little cabin was just what we were looking for. Everything was brand new and done nicely. Kitchen was well stocked and updated. The back deck over looks a small mountain pond. We really enjoyed listening to the frogs as we soaked in the hot tub. Bed was comfy and king sized. Huge double shower was great! I cant recommend this cabin enough and we have already booked a week for the fall. Be back soon!

Absolutely perfect for a couple

We were lucky enough to be only the 2nd guests. The pictures absolutely don’t do the cabin justice! Everything is brand new and renovated. Kathryn’s communication before arrival was excellent. The huge log King bed was by far the most comfortable mattress my husband and I have ever slept on! The sheets were soft and pillows were perfect. The kitchen functions beautifully. We cooked several meals. The only thing missing was a pizza cutter. The shower is maybe the largest I’ve ever seen and the dual shower heads and the beautiful tile work was just exceptional. There’s a large dresser and we really liked that both sides of the bed had a nightstand, a lamp, and our own outlets for phone chargers. The decor in the bedroom and the very unique doors were so cool. The back porch was great, with a brand new swing, new gas grill, and new hot tub. We enjoyed the hot tub every night. There’s a steep hill behind the cabin so very private. The location of the cabin was great too! It’s at the end of a dead end road and there was a good parking spot right in front and nobody walks past. There’s flat areas out front to walk the dog, but definitely too steep out back. You can be on the parkway in 20 minutes, at the indoor water park in 15 minutes, and Townsend in about 25-30 minutes. High up on a mountain, but not a scary drive! I can’t say enough how relaxing, cozy, and special this little cabin was. We’re usually only in the Smokies every 2-3 years, but I’m absolutely certain we’ll be back to rent The Nest again soon! It was the best mini vacation my husband and I have enjoyed in a long time! Thanks you, Tanner family!

Beautiful and Romantic!

This was the perfect place to celebrate Valentine's Day! It is beautiful and the bathroom is amazing! I love that it's at the end of a little street with just a few cabins on it so we felt like it was secluded and we were able to relax and enjoy it. The back porch with the bench swing is very peaceful. At the same time, we were only about 10 minutes to town and everything we wanted to do was close by. Can't wait to go back.

This cabin is the perfect little get a way. Nicely decorated and cozy. Love the screened in deck too!

About the host

Hosted by Kathryn Tanner

Host profile image
We live just outside of New Orleans, LA and own a small remodeling company. Eight years ago we visited the Pigeon Forge area and truly enjoyed our stay. We ultimately decided to purchase our own cabin (that was severely distressed) and renovate it.

Why they chose this property

This cabin is located on top of a mountain without having the steep drive up to it. No need for a 4x4 to get here, you can just drive a regular car up. The 8 cabins we own are all on the same 12 acres, making it the perfect location for a family reunion. We have a Destination Wedding Venue as well on the property that can be rented (or it comes free with 2 nights at The Vieux). Overall, our cabins and units sleep 50 people so for a wedding, reunion or retreat, you can have everyone stay within walking distance of each other. You are able to hike around the property and with the exception of the Beehive unit, every cabin and unit has a beautiful view of the mountains from it. Also, there is a gazebo and a small outside chapel (wedding venue) at the top of the gravel driveway on the property where you can see breathtaking sunsets, sunrises, Fall colors, a winter wonderland and other gorgeous views of the mountains, Pigeon Forge, etc.

What makes this property unique

Have you ever wanted to vacation with family and friends without vacationing directly with them? Need your space to spread out? Want a fun couples week/weekend with other couples but want your own privacy at the same time? This is the perfect place to rent. Just rent this along with another cabin(s) or one of our romantic unit(s) and have the perfect time away with friends. If one couple rents a cabin with a hot tub, everyone can use it in your group. Also, unlike other trips, there is no need for a vacation after the vacation when you have the relaxing scenery around you while having coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night on the balcony/deck.

You can go hiking on the property to see beautiful, breath-taking views - especially from the top of the property (top of the gravel road) where you will find a gazebo and small outside chapel. This property is perfect for Destination Weddings as well with the gazebo and chapel. The property also has 5 cabins and 3 units on it. 1 is The Vieux (#2609521) sleeps 20, The Duck & Turtle Pond (#7565732) sleeps 6, The Loft (#3323255) sleeps 4 and The Nest (# 3325746) sleeps 4, Kissing the Clouds (#3325752) sleeps 4. The Ranch (#3323676) sleeps 8, The Beehive (# 3325745) sleeps 2 and The Nut House (# 3325751) sleeps 2 in a huge studio room. The Beehive & The Nut House are located in Tanner Manor Lodge along with The Ranch.
