About this property

Solitude and privacy lavishly adorned like no other in the middle of Nature

Pamper the senses and soothe your soul while wrapped in Nature’s arms. This Copper-colored sea container dubbed the “Copper Can” is set in the middle of a seven-acre wooded pasture decked with enormous boulders.

Everything becomes a piece of conversation. Whether it is the converted 53’ Conex box “tiny home” itself (there’s nothing tiny about it!), the high-end amenities, the top deck, the whimsical wildflower backyard, the copper decorated kitchen with full-size appliances, dinnerware, pot and pans, ethanol-burning fireplace, spa-like rain shower, Japanese soaker tub, or the one-of-a-kind view.

The show-stopper of the Copper Can is a one-of-a-kind FormsInNature chandelier designed by the artist Pio Diaz out of Denmark. The dappled light it gives makes you feel like you are in the middle of a mystical forest with tree branches gently bending in the wind. The magical light and the queen-sized adjustable, the vibrating bed will invite spontaneous napping, relaxed reading, or romance. Lavish faux fur throws, robes, and area rugs complete the enticing experience.

If you can tear yourself out of the Japanese soaker tub, there are a dozen convenient and fun places to go nearby (We are less than two miles from the Isle Du Bois State Park), but the charm of the Copper Can is that you can have solitude, privacy, quiet alone time all in one place.

Have your breakfast while looking out over the pasture where our retired racehorse, Rex, and his two miniature donkeys, Wally and Beaver, wait for their treats from you. Birdwatching paradise is found right on the front porch with feeders and baths that bring them right to you. Traditional entertainment can be had watching the 55” wall-mounted HDTV with premium DirecTV channels. Take a nap on the mosquito-net-covered-daybeds perched atop the Copper Can on the full-size deck. Grill your dinner out on the charcoal BBQ grill as the sun sets. Watch the moon rise as it seems to balance on top of the Copper Can as you cozy around the fire pit. Under the starlit sky make new, unforgettable memories to treasure for a lifetime all at the Copper Can at Slye Ranch.

Loved this place!!

Such a cute little place! We enjoyed relaxing in the yard and giving the animals treats. The house was clean and beautiful with thoughtful and personalized touches. The bed was very comfortable, the internet worked great, and there were plenty of channels on the directTV. There was any kitchen item you might need to cook a meal if you chose to, and plenty of restaurants close if you don’t feel like it. There was a grill ready to go and a fire pit we would love to have used if it weren’t a scorching June weekend. We will try those next time, we already can’t wait until we can come back!!

Everything I hoped for & more!

One of the property owners, Lynn, greeted me upon check-in, & showed me around, & then left me be for the rest of my time there. She was so nice! And provided SO many little personal touches that were truly... well... touching! The whole property is beautifully kept, the Copper Can itself is just gorgeous, & the serenity enveloped me immediately. I will disclose that it sits pretty close to the road, so while outside, I could hear the light country traffic, but even with that, the tree coverage completely hides sight of it, & sitting on that roof deck at sunset, cocktail in hand, or by the firepit at night with my marshmallows (& also a cocktail), I didn't have a single complaint or care in the world. Highly recommend. Will definitely return! <3

Beautiful Spot

We came in for a festival in Celina, and really enjoyed our time at the property. Nice, relaxing setting and the container is appointed very nicely. Our host was very friendly and pointed out everything we needed to know about. Recommended!

perfect getaway

We had the most perfect weekend at the Copper Can! Lynn was an incredible host - kind, thoughtful, and communicative. We had perfect privacy but knew she was just a phone call away should we need anything. The house was beautifully decorated, clean, well-stocked, and comfortable for the range of temperatures during an October weekend in Texas. Rex & the donkeys were so sweet & we loved watching them in the pasture from the rooftop daybeds where we napped & read in the afternoons. We are honestly excited to return for another weekend getaway sometime in the future!

Best Birthday Ever!

That’s what my girlfriend said after our stay at the Copper Can! Larry & Lynn were the best hosts ever too! Lynn went all out on the inside, it was 1st class, and Larry had the outside grounds looking like velvet! Ray Roberts Lake right around the corner, what a huge plus! We will definitely be back in the fall to enjoy even more the Copper Can has to offer! It’s now our little Hideaway from Home!

Perfect Getaway!

The Copper Can exceeded all my expectations!! From how beautiful the decor was inside to how peaceful and lovely it was outside. Lynn and Larry were absolutely amazing and generous hosts. They definitely made us feel welcome and at home. It was truly so cozy and wonderful inside with all the amazing and plentiful amenities provided. We loved the view from the upper deck and being able to feed Rex. The Japanese Soaker Tub was amazing and we loved the theme of the place itself. I only wished we had booked for longer, truly hard to leave such an amazing and peaceful place. Can't wait to return again!

Our little slice of heaven

Lynn & Larry were the best hosts we could have ever asked for! From the moment I booked on-line, they were there to assist with any questions/concerns I had since our stay fell over the Covid pandemic. We felt confident we choose the perfect place and would be safe! As soon as we pulled in Cooper Can, we felt immediately relaxed and in love with what they created. You can tell how much love & time they have poured in creating a perfect little gem! Attention to detail, all the personal touches (a very special thank you for all the amazing breakfast goodies they provided from their local farm, Singleton Farms. Rex, their retired racing horse & two sweet donkeys were the icing on the cake-they left us treats to feed them and provided the perfect view to wake up to every morning. Lynn was even kind enough to drive us to and from the venue my niece got married in to ensure we had a safe and comfortable journey! We would return in a heartbeat!

Perfect Getaway

Awesome couple of days at the Copper Can. I loved the way it was decorated. I enjoyed my time inside as much as my time outside. Beautiful evenings on the front porch or the upper deck, enjoyed the fire pit and fireplace. I felt like a guest and not a renter - kitchen had more than I needed. Rex (the retired racehorse) greeted me in the mornings for treats. Donkeys Wally and Beaver also kept an eye out for me. Adjustable bed was comfortable, Japanese soaking tub was amazing, custom light fixture set a great mood, and I spent tons of time reading and relaxing on the black walnut table and bench. So many extras! I did make one mistake - I should have planned for a longer stay!

A perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle!

Let's start with the bottom line. Your search is over, stay at the Copper Can! Pictures and words simply cannot do justice to the beauty and thoughtfulness that has been lovingly heaped on our stay. Lynn was so gracious, showing us all the things to make us feel at home and get the most out of our stay. She and Larry have thought if everything! From the delicious welcome tray to the fresh bacon, eggs, bread and churned butter in the fridge to the cozy, luxurious rugs and blankets in all the right places, it's clear that our worries had been left on the road during our short journey from the city. This is a place where you can totally relax, step outside to give the horse and donkeys a treat, slide into the soaking tub in the heated bathroom or snuggle up in the sumptuously appointed bed. It is quite simply perfection. We will be back!

Blown Away!

This container is a luxurious, roomy, welcoming paradise with the best hosts ever. The pictures do not do the beauty of this place justice! It was so immaculately clean, comfortable and well decorated with everything we could need and more. We loved the area and felt like we were really spoiled by our hosts. Our puppy also loved making friends with the horse and donkeys on the other side of the yard and we loved feeding them carrots! Thank you for such an incredible weekend! 10/10!

Tiny resort

Friends laugh when I say I'm staying in a container but joke is on them when they see the pictures! But pictures don't fully express the love Lynn and Larry pour into their pampering business. The delicious welcome platters (see photos) and fresh milk, homemade yogurt, farm eggs of all colors, smoked bacon, fruits, cheese and varieties of jams and preserves. On and on. And then there is the soaking tub after a long day at the barn, chairs on the shaded porch, or up on the top deck. It's a little slice of heaven with Lynn there to help with anything you need. Her big girl dog Luna welcomes all folks and furry friends. Rio loves his runabouts in the pasture too. I always look forward to my return and seeing what goodies I find in my refrigerator there! You will LOVE it.

Country Meets Modern Relaxation

Beautiful setting for our rustic/Star Wars themed autumn wedding. We stayed in the container cabin while our wedding party occupied the large cabin the day of the wedding. The men enjoyed the "man cave" prior to our evening ceremony. We had a memorable stay and we just loved all the details.

Why they chose this property

We added the Copper Can to our BnB business after we started turning away too many of our loyal guests from our A-frame Cabin. We wanted something unique to set down in the middle of our wooded horse pasture to be surrounded by nature and wildlife - a place that would provide solitude, privacy, and yes, that little bit of romance!

What makes this property unique

Tiny House that isn't so tiny. No holes barred lavishly decorated with goods from around the world are a source of continuous conversation and feelings of being spoiled.

If you are considering buying a tiny house you might want to really experience living in one before making your purchase. See what can be done from scratch to the completed product.

One-of-a-kind place to call your own. A place to share with that special someone without any interference from the outside world. If you don't tell anyone where you'll going we won't tell either. Get away from everything and everyone.

A place that provides quiet, safety, and calm. Sleep with the windows up as the sounds of nature soothe you to sleep. No need to close the curtains as there isn't anyone around to see inside except for retired racehorse Rex and his two miniature donkeys, Wally and Beaver.

A place that has everything you need. Perfect for the visiting professors at one of the two universities in Denton (TWU or UNT), traveling executives, traveling nurses, couples waiting on their house to be completed, or those who desire a place to stay mid to long-term that has everything included. A place to invite a few friends out to enjoy an evening under the starlit night to reminisce about the old and make new plans for future endeavors. Your friends will enjoy a relaxed, country setting away from the concrete jungles.

Clean and spotless in your new hidden gem with help only a phone call away should you desire or need anything. Contact with the homeowner occurs only if you contact them. Otherwise, you will never know they reside on the other side of the property. Landscape maintenance is done on Mondays by the homeowner. Located in the country on seven acres less than one mile from restaurants and convenience stores. Just three miles from Isle du Bois State Park for boating, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, swimming, mountain bike riding, and nature walks.
