The location for this home is so serene, and peaceful. Everything we needed was present. The host and her family were so polite and kind. It was a truly relaxing vacation. Thank you for sharing this hidden gem with us.
Size of the property was perfect for myself and my husband. I especially loved the view of the natural surroundings. Was a comfortable stay. I found it to be close to restaurants and just a drive across 98 to 30 A and beautiful beaches.
My husband and I owned a restaurant for the last 5 years so for this vacation we were looking for peace and quite, but close to civilization and the beach. This place is right off the beaten path. No noise, except nature. The pictures provided are spot on and the house is beautiful! They are pet friendly and the patio and yard are gated for medium to small size dogs. Only entrance to the house is up the 9 steps and the place is not handicap accessible, but we did manage to find a toilet seat riser and grab bar at the Goodwill and Walmart for our disabled family member. (Side note: it was a last minute decision that our elderly Mother had to come with us) There is a grill to use. Kitchen has all necessary cooking equipment, but you will need to buy all your own condiments, seasonings, and food. There are a few pods to wash dishes and laundry, but you will need to buy more if staying longer than a week. Washer and dryer work great.
There are no items to use for the beach. We bought a couple of beach towels and rented chairs/umbrella/beach stroller from Sweet Escapes (they were amazing and they delivery and pick up at the property.
Mark was very accommodating and checked on us periodically. Our car battery decided to give up on this trip and Mark offered to have a friend jump our car. I remembered I had roadside assistance so it wasn’t necessary, but it’s the offer that counts. I never met Yubeiri.
The best beach in my opinion is Grayton Beach State Park. There is a $5 daily use fee, but the beach is clean and very accessible. 2nd best is Grayton Public Beach (take the tram) only because it had a lagoon to wade in if the ocean is closed to swimming. The lagoon is rust color in areas, but I’m told it is minerals, which makes sense because that’s what the lagoon smelled like. Lots of kids were swimming in it.
There are many restaurants to choose from. Our absolute favorite was Bayou Bills. The food was amazing to the point even though I was stuffed I kept eating. They are not shy on portions. 2nd choice was Blue Mabel. We ate at Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar which was just ok, but had a nice view of the ocean. Vue on 30a had an amazing view of the ocean, but the food was mediocre to horrible and severely overpriced for the simplicity of what was served.
