If you have kids- ask if the trampoline has been fixed BEFORE you book.
I’ll preface this review by saying we have stayed at many Stayz and their ‘competition’ accom and I have never complained prior to this review.
Booked 2 weeks ahead of our visit down to Blairgowrie- for a 4 night stay over a long weekend. Choose the house due to its location to the beach and the fact that it had a trampoline for the kids. Kids were soooo excited, and the in-ground trampoline was all they could talk about. Happy kids = happy parents.
Get down to the house. Sign on trampoline- ‘Broken, do not use’. Kids upset. Parents upset. Rang Property Agent. Property Agent rang the owner who told her that she had the materials to fix the trampoline but needed two people to do so.
Despite the trampoline being advertised with the house, and the owner having 2 weeks notice that children were coming to visit (this info is filled out in the booking info), the trampoline should have been safe and operational.
Due to the deteriorated state of the springs (heavily rusted/ missing) I believe that the trampoline needs to be replaced or simple taken out and the remaining pit filled in with dirt.
Bee hive on site which is not advertised in the Stayz advert. So just a heads up if you have someone who is allergic to bees. Bring your epipen.
Also, BYO wine glasses ( glassware/mugs) unless you like drinking out of assorted Op shop glassware. When a guest pays a decent amount per night, a minimum standard of glasses, mugs, stemware is required. Kmart and IKEA options would have been a welcomed alternative to the assortment that was presented in the cupboard.
On a positive note, the location is great. The location is very quiet. You can walk to the Yacht club. The house is simple but fine.
The Property Agent was excellent to deal with and she gave us a partial refund due to the broken trampoline.
