We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the flexibility of the location. There were lots of places to rest and relax. We would certainly consider staying here again!
We met up with our daughter and her family and our son for a great Father's Day weekend. Your home was in a nice quiet area and our 2 Grandson's loved fishing across the street and taking the kayaks out on the river.
The location was perfect for chasing waterfalls which we did!
The property was perfect for a family weekend getaway. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The house was very clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend. We hope to be able to return for our next mini vacation. Jeff and Kina are amazing!
We had the best weekend on the water. The house has plenty of space and great amenities. The kids were able to use the kayaks and fish. The bed upstairs was incredibly comfortable. The hosts were so nice and prompt with answers to questions. Would stay there again.
This was an amazing place to be. Wish we could have stayed a lot longer. Kina and Jeff were just super great owners. We enjoyed every moment we spent there. The wildlife was beautiful.
Hope to go again someday. Perhaps the best 3 day stay of any other house or cabin.
We had a blast getting all of our kids together again! Everyone had something to do kayaking, fishing, volleyball, ping pong (we brought our net and ball for this last two). Owners very easy to communicate with! Will definitely be back.
I took my 5 grands with my daughters and spouse for a weekend trip. The kids had a blast rolling down the hill and loved being in the kayaks from the house. We wanted to stay longer but had to return to the norm but will be back soon, hopefully.
Truth in advertising. Just as described. Clean, comfortable, quiet. We especially enjoyed the comfortable beds. Beautiful view. Deer in the yard each evening . Great check in process. We will definitely book again when we are in the area.
This place is awesome! Helps that the owners are super nice and great at communication!! This place has tons of space and the best are very comfortable!! Highly recommend. We were down for a festival close by but there is fishing and kayaking available and a nice little fire pit! Thanks for being awesome hosts!!!
More than we expected!! Had the best time! Had more than the add even said. Owner was more accommodating than I ever expected. I can’t give a high enough rating. They get an 11 out of 5. I will definitely rent this property again. This will be my go to when visiting my family
This was a clean, well-maintained property but likely best suited for families instead of seniors, like us. The 2nd bedroom was upstairs, which we knew, but the stairs are difficult to maneuver especially carrying up luggage and then the upstairs bathroom is only a half-bath so showing was downstairs. For families with a younger group, this likely wouldn't have been much of an issue.
It was across the road from the lake, though unfortunately, there wasn't a good view of it. Best part was the flurry of deer that come to the property and neighborhood early in the morning and especially in the evening. It was quite tranquil to sit on the decks on enjoy the wildlife (and.....the sound of fish jumping in the lake).
We had a great time during our stay. The cabin has lots of movies, games, and puzzles and was plenty to keep us (husband and me and kids 5 and 7) all entertained as we stayed in for 1 day. Nearby we toured Granville and went swimming at Roaring Fork park. If you’re looking for a vacation with some things to go out and do and also a place to relax and not do much, I recommend staying here.
This was a PERFECT place to spend our anniversary! We loved every single bit of our stay. It was quiet and peaceful, comfortable, and relaxing. The communication and accommodations from Jeff and Kina were great. Their suggestions about the marina and boat rentals were so helpful, and that’s what we did for two of our days that we stayed. Nothing was more perfect than waking up and having coffee on the porch swing! Highly recommend, and we will definitely be back. Thanks for everything!!!
Very much enjoyed this Gainesboro getaway! Simple lakeview cabin, with plenty of space and a great front porch. Exactly what my family and friends needed for some much needed R&R.
The host, Jeff, was also very helpful and communicative and with information. Would recommend this property to others!
The house has great location. The owners responds to every email promptly. We enjoy kayaking in the rever across the road using the kayaks on the site.
Love this riverside retreat! Would recommend to larger families with the upstairs suite and bunk room, we only had five but everyone had lots of privacy and space 😀
We loved staying at Jeff & Kina's lovely home. It was extra clean & they provided everything we needed. It felt like home from the very first day. The view was beautiful from the front porch and the upstairs screened-in balcony, and the fishing was great at a little spot right across the road from the house. Although it rained almost every day we were there, it didn't detract from our enjoyment. Actually, hearing rain on a tin roof brought back some wonderful memories. Thanks, Jeff & Kina, for being so responsive to all our questions! We will definitely be back!

About the host
Hosted by Jeff and Kina Wald
My name is Kina Wald and owning a home like this has been a goal of mine for a long time. I'm a realtor here in TN & KY so I am always looking at homes and choosing things that I would like in a getaway. This place has it all! My husband, Jeff Wald, is an agent for Shelter Insurance as well as a professional level drummer. While he doesn't do the tours he is friends with the musicians that do and gets to jam with them frequently in Nashville.
Why they chose this property
We wanted a place that's peaceful, great views, rustic and that we could get to in less than two hours. I had searched for and looked at many different places. One sunny day in January Jeff was wanting us to take our Mustang out for a drive - no destination in mind. So I told him that I wanted to take a look at this place so we fired up the car and started driving. When we arrived and looked around, I was in love! I just felt peace. So that's how it happened!
What makes this property unique
If you're looking to get away from everything and recharge your batteries, this is the place for you. It's extremely quiet, especially at night. Sitting on the swing in the screened in porch in the morning with a good cup of coffee, watching the sunrise... it's so peaceful! And if you want to fish, kayak, hike... its all right there. You can literally walk down our hill, cross the street and go fishing. The few neighbors are all full time residents, so it's a very safe place.
