Lovely Home, it's the small touches!!

This lovely home is a labor of love. Owner built, piece by piece, and you can tell. Super clean!! Did not even see a cobweb!! Off the beaten track along side a river. Gorgeous. Saw moose across the river and the Aurora at night during the clear nights. Beautiful! Everything was as pictured and described! Warm heated floors. Softened water. A garage!! Bonus!! Loved the induction stove! Every kind of coffee maker and hot water maker there is.Sleeping arrangements for two couples was good as bedrooms are on different sides of the house. Each had their own bathroom from the halls. Comfortable couches in the LR. The laundry room was perfect for drying our snowy coats, hats, etc. Very nice place!! The only downside, VERY MINOR, was we would have liked more of the deck shoveled. The front steps were icy until we chipped the ice away. No biggie. We are from Colorado Rockies and we know you have to get the snow up right away or you have ice until April. But just a great place to stay. Warm and welcoming and would stay again.

Exactly what we hoped for!!!

The cabin ticked all the boxes for our Alaskan winter vacation. It was remote enough that we saw moose from the cabin, as well as had a fantastic night of aurora viewing from its outdoor firepit and river’s edge. Saying that, the cabin is close enough (15 min drive) to North Pole for shopping etc. And the quality of the cabin was what the website photos depicted. We were very happy with our choice to stay here. Thanks to Bonita and John!!

Aurora Trip

Property exceeded all expectations. Very tastefully decorated and the hosts went above and beyond with providing all of the essentials to get started. Beautiful home and location. We came for the Northern Lights, but we would come back just to enjoy all that the property and its location has to offer.

Perfect place for Aurora watching and winter activities.

It was a magical visit. Our whole family joined us and we saw the aurora which was spectacular. The house was cozy, well maintained and clean. The host was responsive to our questions. We had one issue and the co-host came over right away to assist in getting it resolved.

Magical winter wonderland

John and Bonita’s cabin was perfect for our family. Everything is as pictured and had everything we needed. The cabin and property was beautiful in every way, I was so impressed that John built the cabin himself!!! It was so special! They were AMAZING hosts answering all our questions quickly. We would love to return and definitely stay here.

Wonderful Cabin with a great vibe! the cabin was extremely well appointed and ready for or visit! We wanted for nothing and had such a lovely time. A Little Slice of Heaven!

We have rented dozens of homes over the last few decades and this one is our all time favorite! Clean, Comfortable and it had everything we could possibly need to make our stay enjoyable. We felt like we were in the Alaskan wilderness and we were only 15 minutes from restaurants and shopping. Great layout, wonderful view and very comfortable. We miss it already and we miss the visits from Karma even more. Thanks for taking such good care of us, we look forward to returning.

You'll never want to leave

The cabin was truly wonderful! The pictures actually don't compare to when you're staying in there. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds comfortable. The bathrooms were clean with good pressure and hot water. If you were chasing the Northern Lights ( Aurora Borealis ) like we were, this location was ideal too. Our group travelled to the known 'spots' for viewing the Northern lights - Murphy Dome, Creamer's Field, Chena Hot Springs - but we had the best views and experience outside the cabin itself with a roaring fire by the pit or just stay indoors then look out when the Aurora starts. We certainly would book this gem again in the future and would recommend it to anyone!

Wonderful family vacation

My family traveled from FL, TN, and Juneau to watch my daughter graduate from UAF. The home was everything we expected and more. The hosts were super helpful and responsive. The home is absolutely stunning and exactly what the pictures look like. The kitchen was fully stocked with coffee and other items that made our stay so comfortable. We saw two moose in the morning across the river between 5-6am, beaver, and many birds daily. I highly recommend this home.

Gem of a property on the Chena River

Well appointed and very comfortable home on the Chena river. Just outside of the North Pole and a 20 minute drive the Fairbanks. This was a perfect jump-off point for all of our adventures. The Chena break-up was occurring, our kids got to fish a bit and we saw multiple Golden Eagles scouting the river. The property had a pair of binoculars on-site. The home had everything you could ever ask for and then had the things you didn't realize you might want! Firewood, fishing poles, outdoor grill, etc. Very nice opportunity to have a few family meals on vacation. Gorgeous property, don't think twice about staying here.

Great Aurora Views

The cabin is absolutely stunning, the heated floors were an unexpected treat. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything & everything you might need minus the food. The location of the cabin is remote enough that you have your privacy yet you’re only 20 minutes or so to town. We saw so much Alaskan wildlife as well as spectacular views of the aurora!

Peaceful Retreat in Alaska

Nicely maintained cabin in North Pole. The kitchen was well stocked, including a nice selection of local coffee! The cabin is very comfortable and quiet. We were lucky and saw a mother moose and her baby one morning. Highly recommend this rental. We will definately be back.

Enchanting Escape: A Northern Lights Spectacle at this Cozy Alaskan Log Cabin

Our stay at this log cabin in Alaska was nothing short of magical. The breathtaking views of the northern lights from the cozy cabin were truly unforgettable. The cabin itself was not only beautiful but also exceptionally well-stocked, providing everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Stressful job? Need time off? Want to get away from it all?

Our stay was from Sep 29 to October 7.This North Pole get away is everything that is advertised. If you need to unwind, get lost in your own thoughts this is the place. On a side note, shopping is only 15-20 minutes away in either direction. The construction of the cabin is a trip in itself. The builders knew what they were doing and how to do it. If your thinking of building a log cabin; this is how you do it. The cabin was very clean. The kitchen is large with modern equipment and 95-98% furnished with condiments. You just need to bring the food you want to eat. Don't forget to grill on the fire pit (you need to improvise a grill for it). The water from the faucets is very cold and taste very good (They have a water softener system). The living room is large also with huge viewing windows facing the river. The bedrooms are spacious and well maintained. If you leave a window open at night you may catch a moose call. We were a little late on the leaves changing but there was still some evidence of it. You are surrounded by trees and the Chena River only steps away. The sunrises over the trees was something else. The evergreens are numerous so you get that pine smell on most days. The fire pit (plenty of wood provided) a couple of steps outside the backdoor was a great place to get warm and watch the stars and hopefully the aurora borealis. The host, Bonita, was very accommodating and extremely friendly. I texted her a couple of times with questions and she answered in less than an hour. Most of the return texts were within minutes. She was on top of all situations with a friendly smile. A great host! To top the whole trip, we got snow the last two days. It was beautiful. The evergreens were covered snow. I think the most spectacular thing to see is scots pines trees and evergreens covered in snow. Cons: You have to leave.

Beautiful home

My family and I enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. Very secluded and peaceful. With the Chena River in your back yard the kids were able fish whenever they wanted. Beautiful fire pit for making s’mores and relaxation. The home had everything we needed. Kitchen is fully stocked for your baking and cooking. Kitchen also had the Northern Lights for decor. Grandkids loved the lofts for sleeping. The Midnight Sun was amazing. If you get a chance stay in this lovely home.

Wonderful secluded cabin

This cabin was everything we hoped it would be! I rented this place to meet up with my 80’something year old parents who had never seen the northern lights. It was so warm and welcoming and the perfect place to relax and spend time together. It’s close enough to Fairbanks that we ran into town every day for one of the many activities … but far enough out that the skies were dark and star-filled - perfect for Aurora viewing. The kitchen was fully stocked (pots, pans, mixers, etc) and had everything we needed, and even had some of the necessities in case you forgot to bring salt or pepper with you!! The bedrooms were all comfy and fresh. Lots of windows for animal AND Aurora viewing!! On that note, I’ll say that the location was perfect for Aurora watching. Lots of open space. We were able to catch the news and other shows on the local channels. The property contact, Bonita, was easy to reach and responded to questions very promptly. She was a delight! I would happily stay here again!

Second stay is a charm

This is our second time staying in Mr. Taylor’s beautiful cabin. We were with friends exploring Fairbanks/North Pole in March with the goal of visiting the ice sculpture competition and the hope of seeing the Northern Lights at night. It definitely did not disappoint our guests from Nevada and Arizona. As always, the cabin was well kept, very clean, and has everything you will need for your stay. There’s still lots of snow and ice in March so you will definitely need a good 4x4 to get to and from the cabin. We did see a beautiful show of the Northern Lights during our stay there.
