Waking to the sound of the ocean, followed by coffee on the deck that hangs over the ocean is pretty tough to beat. Great Condo, great amenities, great property manager, just great. Eagle rays swimming by on a regular basis, snorkeling, paddle boarding, or just sunning by the pool...amazing. 5 restaurants and a great beach that are all walkable....this was truly a GREAT vacation!!!
This property was stellar. Not only did it have the space we needed, there were tons of details that made it the perfect choice for our vacation. Our car rental reservation went unfulfilled so we took a taxi to the house. The driver commented on how lucky we were to be staying in this area. It was pitch black when we arrived so it wasn’t until the first morning that we discovered how amazing the property was! We ended up dining at Solemar twice (and ordering take out a few other times), had gelato from across the road almost daily, the fresh cooked conch fritters were afternoon snacks and we ended up having groceries delivered. Breakfast items in the fridge for the first morning were such a godsend! It really is a gem and we had a wonderful time. The owners were very easy to communicate with and the property managers were very helpful.
This place exceeded our expectations. We loved the views and the rooms. We had apps at the pool, snorkeled right out front and used the paddle boards. It was a perfect place with close restaurants and wine and spirits. We had a great time.
We were here for a weekend. The hosts were incredibly responsive and accommodating with early/late check in requests.
The property is great. The beach underneath wasn't really accessible, but it's nearby others that are only a few minutes away. The pool is next to the house with a great view of the ocean.
The property is well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/glasses/etc.
Highly recommended! Would absolutely stay here again!!
How was very nice and view was incredible. Definitely recommend. Exiting onto roadway from parking can be a challenge, but you are surrounded by excellent restaurants within easy walking distance.
We are 6 college friends celebrating our 50th birthdays and Ivy May's did not disappoint! The communication leading up to the trip was excellent and Novlet was very responsive once we got there, though there was nothing that we needed as Derek and Kiima have thought of everything. This is a great spot if you're looking for a local, out of the way vibe for your vacation. The only downfall is that you can't really walk very far - the roads are very narrow and a bit treacherous for pedestrians. We are a group that loves long walks on the beach and unfortunately we were not able to do that. But we contacted Leo, one of the taxi drivers recommended, and he took great care of us, driving us to Bahamar one day and Love Beach another. There are two restaurants, an ice cream shop and liquor store right across the street, as well as the conch stand right down the road, which are all easy (and safe) to walk to. The large patio overlooking the water was awesome and we spent every morning and evening out there, we even found a couple yoga mats and had our own yoga session - such a treat! But one of the highlights of our trip was Chef Corey, who cooked for us for two days and treated us to amazing Bahamian meals - highly recommend! The house itself was very comfortable and homey and had everything we needed, from beach towels, to cooler bags, floaties and yoga mats and 6 brand new lounge chairs for the pool - a must!! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
The property was absolutely beautiful! The location was great!
From the moment we arrived at the house we fell in love! The house is literally on the beach! Every morning I woke up and felt like i was on a cruise ship when i looked out the wondow.. It had everything we needed plus some! The location was great. The restaurants in the area where awesome. We even had a rainy day and the house was so comfy we just enjoyed relaxing in the house.
Wonderful, clean, amazingly well furnished triplex directly on the waters edge. The owners and property manager were delightful to work with and accommodated our every need immediately. The house had everything we could have needed, beach towels, snorkelling gear, extra sheets, towels, soap, shampoo, paper towels, toilet paper, BBQ with a full tank of gas, automatic generator... everything was of high quality. The house is directly on the water with the terrace literally hanging over the waters edge. We saw fish and rays swimming directly underneath daily. There is no need to go anywhere else for sunset, we watched the sunset unobstructed every evening directly from the terrace. The bedrooms were large with plenty of storage and each had it's own bathroom. I cannot say enough great things about the property manager. The house was spotless and she took care of us as if were her own family. My only suggestion about the house is it might be time to get a few more chairs for the patio and a few more wine glasses (there were 8 of us). It was a pleasure staying there and I would return again.
The Best Views! The Best Guest Care! The Best Amenities!
Responsive host and caretaker! Well provisioned home that led us to want for nothing! The best views - we felt like we were on the water and were lulled to sleep each night with the waves. Sea turtles, sting rays, and good conch finds/snorkeling right in our front yard! Will recommend to friends and family all day long. Thank you, Derek!

Currently living in New York. Derek is in IT while Kiima works in the beauty industry and recently received her real estate in New York. Ivy's Mays Beach House is family owned with roots in Jamaica and the Bahamas. We love the area and couldn't be happier to be involved in managing our family's lovely home away from home.
Why they chose this property
Ivy Mays Beach House has been in our family for decades. We love catching sunsets on the balcony...There is nothing like it!! The neighborhood truly has everything you need for dinning out for breakfast lunch or dinner or even dancing on the weekends!
What makes this property unique
Ivy May worked for the world-famous Island Records under the direction of Christopher Blackwell. During this exciting time in her life, she was fortunate enough to assist Mr. Blackwell in the careers of Bob Marley, U2, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Will Smith, Robert Palmer, and many others.
