Access to your own personal patio and fire pit behind main residence. Wake up late, or early, and enjoy a cup of coffee in the country. The space is completely furnished; kitchen and bathroom with everything you’d need for a relaxing long weekend or extended stay. We live on the property, but will not “entertain” you during your stay. We’ll respect your privacy completely as you respect ours.

Great time on the Farm!

Great hosts! Great location! Great animals! Great space to relax as a couple! Dan spent time with us on the farm answering all of our "City Folk" questions on Cows, Donkeys, Kittens, Dogs, and Farm ownership. It is a wonderful place to relax with the sounds of animals and awesome sunsets!

Farm apartment

Our stay was enjoyable. We were close to the small towns we wanted to go and see and the landscape was beautiful We were in Bluff Country. The weather was great too. Every time we came back to the farm we were greeted by the 2 dogs, especially the puppy. Both dogs were cute and fun to be around.

The property is beautiful and the donkeys, cows, dogs, and cats were all so wonderful to be able to see and visit. The property owners are lovely - we got to have some good conversations with them. It’s tucked away in the country which is exactly what we wanted, but it’s only a 10 minute drive to Forestville for fishing, and 30 minutes to Lanesboro for the shops and restaurants. We had an amazing time and will definitely book here again.

Comfy Farm Retreat

We stayed here 4 nights to attend a wedding. The rental is well stocked and well furnished, very clean and comfortable, especially the king bed. Great hiking at nearby Forestville Mystery Cave SP. Highly recommended.

Weekend Getaway

Wonderful and relaxing !

The serenity in the country, the hospitality of Tammy and Dan and the pet therapy of Copper and the black kitties was what we needed. The day we arrived the monarch’s were migrating and had gathered in one of the trees on the property. It was magical to see so many gathered in one place. The bed was very comfortable and the towels plentiful.

Wonderful farm location

Tammy and Dan were most accommodating in ensuring our needs were met. We chose this location due to being close to family homes and Forestville Park and it was perfect for our needs. The apartment was very comfortable and well stocked with necessities. Copper and the kitties made us not miss our fur kids as much and were very fun to interact with. Would love to stay here again on a future visit and would recommend to anyone in the area needing a place to stay.

Peaceful beautiful farm stay, family friendly.

It’s a peaceful area except, for the outdoor dogs who might bark, and run around the yard. It says fully furnished kitchen but there were no pairing knives, only 2 large knives. This was our second visit in 4 years. The beds upstairs are not ideal for adults who have pain, or to avoid a head injury climbing up to get there if you’re unsteady is a challenge. The big king bed is fine. The hosts are all friendly. If you like farm atmosphere, it’s a nice place. We wished we could have opened the windows to hear birds and crickets but flys, bugs might come in, so air conditioner is recommended

A little bit of heaven!

What a special place! We were greeted by a friendly dog and two adorable kittens. Check in was a breeze, thr door open. Instructions were all listed with any information we could possibly want or need, but oh so good to have. Spotlessly clean, well furnished. Comfortable couch, bed, etc. Everything we would possibly need, i.e. wifi, television, fridge, coffee maker AND fresh coffee, etc. Beautiful flowers all over their beautiful yard, and all the peace and quiet you would need. Love the donkeys and cows as well. Very friendly hosts, we had a very nice stay in the beautiful countryside. Thanks from us both!

Hidden Gem for Root River Bike Trail

On short notice I was looking for a place to stay to ride the Root River and Preston/Harmony trails without having close contact with anyone in these Covid times. This apartment on a working farm was perfect. Only 15 minutes from Preston or Fountain trailheads, about 25 minutes from Lanesboro. Super clean. A complete apartment with full kitchen, modern bathroom, fast WiFi, and extremely comfortable king size bed. Very quiet at night. One dog, 3 kittens and 2 burros came by to visit when I was outside. Very friendly owners. While my wife had to cancel out of the trip, as a Wisconsin farm girl I'm sure she would have enjoyed it. Definitely would stay here again (which is my highest compliment).

On The Farm

Peaceful and quiet place in the beauty of green farmland. We needed to get out of the city for a few days and this fit the bill. Our host, "Eik" was welcoming and told us lots of stories about his farm. We met the donkeys and dog Copper. One of the things we would recommend is more lighting - the apartment was quite dark. We are older readers and the lack of lamps made it difficult. Perhaps move the large lamp on the dresser in the bedroom to the side of the bed and add another lamp in the living room. The kitchen had most of everything we needed except for bowls - no serving sized bowls were to be found.

Respite

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this immaculately clean, homey, and well-appointed home. The escape into the country after exploring nearby bicycling trails, state parks, antique malls and eateries was blissful. Our host Tammy was super helpful and immediately responsive to all inquiries. Highly recommended!

We are Dan and Tammy Eickhoff. Welcome to our farm. We are busy working parents of four amazing (3adult & 1 teen) kids. We both come from large loving families and enjoy hosting guests. We want you to feel welcome, and will respect your privacy.

Why they chose this property

Our place has been in the family for years, with the main house on the property was built in 1906. We created the apartment as a retreat for visiting family, and decided to open it up to guests. This place has been a blessing to us, and we’re happy to share it.

What makes this property unique

Our outdoor space is wonderful in the spring through the fall. You’ll have your own private patio and will have access to fire pit. The space is intended to be comfortable and welcoming.

Please let us know if you do not like dogs. We have two golden retrievers. Copper (11 years) and younger one Roc. Copper is getting very hard of hearing, and his eyesight isn’t great. They are friendly and will take treats (that we have in the apartment). The young one is extremely friendly. If you do not like pets, or you are brining kids that may have a fear of animals, again, please let us know.
