Property is as described. Has basics that you would need for cooking, towels, utensils. We had a great time using it a a basecamp to shop in Traverse City and Petoskey. We would return to stay right there and not leave the property another time.
Loved our stay, house was beautiful and CLEAN! Lake is great for young swimmers as it's pretty shallow. Can catch fish right off the dock. House had a lot of useful amenities. Property manager was easy to get in contact with. Will be returning in the future
A beautiful setting to enjoy a long needed vacation. The cabin is well stocked and has everything you need. All the comforts of home, but in a lakeside cabin in the woods. Kayaked on the lake several times. Even tried my hand at fishing. Also went to Mackinac island, the UP, and Traverse City. Lakes abound in the area with quant towns. The owner and property manager were extremely accommodating and responsive. Also did a couple of hikes in the area- a couple nature reserves, gorgeous- not long and very well maintained. Also, the sunrise is worth getting up a little early to see. Breathtaking. The cabin is well stocked with wood for the fire pit. The grocery stores in the area have all you’ll need if you decide to cook. There’s a little beach park next to the property that has a small beach and picnic tables.

Okay- but a little miss represented
Cute place, but when talking with property manager I asked if there was Air Conditioning- he said yes. In all actuality there was not. I tried texting him but he was in responsive and then when he did respond he was not helpful. Also horrible fishing lake. They said you can catch fish off the dock but there was none. Very shallow mucky lake.
Only three feet deep at end of dock, perfect for granddaughter.
Shallow lake average about three to five feet deep. Some areas little deeper, there is a hole about 16 foot deep. Cottage was great, all u need for a great vacation. The kyacks were a big plus for the kids.
Would rent again if no more than six would be in the party. Six is max for this cottage.
This place couldn't have been more perfect for my wife and I to have a rest and recovery type of vacation.
It was quiet, relaxing, comfortable and clean.
It was stocked with everything we needed, and the use of the kayaks was an extra bonus that we took great advantage of.
If you stay here, be sure to get up at sunrise. The sun coming up over the lake is beautiful!
Thank you for a wonderful week!
Our thank you to the owner for sharing their little gem of a cottage! Everything you could need is provided for you. We appreciated the cleanliness! The view is beautiful! Only drawback was poor communication from property manager. I had asked him for info 2 days before our trip and was still awaiting how to access property the night before we were leaving and had to contact him, once again. This is not acceptable. I noticed this has been an issue in the past. Other than dealing with this, our stay was wonderful.
The cottage was clean, nicely decorated, with all the conveniences, full set of pots, pans, utensils, dishes, etc… there was also commonly used spices available. The view of the lake is great, as well as the dock. Close to town and Traverse city, if you need anything. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great Stay
We stayed for a week and this cottage was perfect. The lake was warm and sandy near the dock. Great location to hit Traverse City, would stay here again.
We enjoyed our stay at the Paradise Oaks cottage. It's small, but has enough space for a couple or small family. The lake is great - quite clear with sandy access. The cottage is definitely outside of town, however, you're only 8-10 min from a couple restaurant choices in Kalkaska or 25 min to Grayling.
The beds weren't the most comfortable, and no a/c, but overall we enjoyed our stay.
House had everything we needed for a weeks stay for fishing and relaxing. House is perfect for 2 people or a Family of 4 or 5. Well equipped for all of our cooking needs as well as towels and bathroom accessories. There is nothing I can think of that wasn't provided. Had several rainy days, but the fish seemed to bit better in the rain, than on those clear sunny days. Wonderful neighbors on both sides, got to talk with each. Just a wonderful week on the lake. We caught several fish including HUGE Bluegill, Bass, Walleye, Perch, Pike and Crappie. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
We found the house very clean and it had everything covered that you might need. We were real lucky and had a great week of just sun. The only thing for me being in my 70's is getting in the lake. I am short and I couldn't use the ladder to get in and the edge of the water was rocky and I didn't feel safe walking on them to get in. Some nice stairs towards the front of the dock would be a big help for older people to get in. That and we had a problem with the TV in the living room. For some reason we couldn't get it to work. But, we weren't there to watch TV anyway. We found a great place in Kalkaska to eat breakfast and Lunch called Moose and Stellla's Cafe. All in all I would highly recommend this place to stay. We had a great time and the veiw of the lake is just beautiful.
Great cottage and a great location. We had a wonderful time at this cottage. Everything was as described. The view of the lake was amazing and even though we had some chilly and cloudy weather we still went swimming in the wonderful , sandy bottom lake! The cottage was cute and clean and we will be back again. Thank You!!!
The cabin was absolutely perfect! Extremely clean! I was in love as soon as we walked in. The attention to detail was incredible! Dishes, utensils, pots and pans, it included EVERYTHING! The wifi was surprisingly amazing....all the amenities were ON POINT! I am absolutely amazed at how well kept Paradise Oaks is. The amount of love that went into this place shows. The cutest little cabin we ever rented. The kids loved the kayaks and the fact the lake was right outside our back door. Even the littlest things like pads for the stumps by the fire pit. For families like ours, that is just looking for a staycation, perfect. Also, the convenience of a washer and a dryer with kids? Pppffff perfection! We will definitely be back and can't wait to visit again! Definitely 5 stars here y'all!
