We (3 gals on a ski trip) loved our stay at Hellgate E. The condo is very clean and well-appropriated with all the things we needed. We had plenty of towels for hot tubbing and showers. The kitchen also had everything we needed including common seasonings. We crock-potted our dinners. (The “low” setting ran warm, so add a bit extra liquid.). The condo smelled great when we returned home.
The Alta shuttle is awesome - as is the mountain. The condo is just down the road from Alta’s Wildcat base, and the drivers all arrived in 10 minutes or less. After you call for pickup, it’ll take that long to gather your skis, gloves, helmets, lock up, and hike the stairs up to the road. NOTE. The condo is on a cliff. You’ll descend 2+ flights to the office/entrance and climb them (obviously) to get to the road.
The shuttle to Snowbird (also an amazing mountain) was a short 10 minute wait also... just ask the driver where to pick you up on the way home. We ended up taking the “city” bus to Alta, and then getting on the trusty Alta Shuttle for a ride to the condo.
The skiing is fabulous, and the shuttles worked great. We did not have (or want) a car.
We did experience Interlodge one day of our stay. Interlodge was a new word for us this trip! This is explained on the condo’s description, and we were aware. 16” of snow overnight and a blizzard created the situation, but we had plenty of food, the hallmark channel, snow angel-making, and our iPads to keep us busy.
The views from the condo are lovely - we hiked the stairs to get some awesome sunset shots the night before the storm.
Fred, the property manager, welcomed us, and was available when we needed him for “Interlodge” questions.
We pre-ordered all our food (breakfasts, snacks, dinners) from the grocery store and picked up (as well as a liquor stop) on the way to Hellgate (via canyon transport). We’re used to the mountain villages of Park City, Breck, Winter Park, Big Sky, etc. But this area is different. - limited on on-mountain apres ski. We loved coming home after skiing and staying “in” for food.
Great experience. Would definitely visit again.
Also... these mountains are no joke. Start your leg lifts and squats now. Seriously.
