Hellgate Unit F is a sky-high mountain retreat. This 2 bedroom with loft condo within 2 miles of two world-famous ski resorts offers 1,280 square feet of living space and complimentary ski shuttle service to either Alta or Snowbird. Groups of up to six people will love access to the community hot tub, coin-operated laundry facilities, and a secluded bedroom!

SHUTTLE ACCESS TO ALTA AND SNOWBIRD
The shuttle stop is located just outside the entrance to the Hellgate Buildings. The complimentary shuttle to both Alta and Snowbird runs daily from the last week of December to the first week of April

INTERLODGE
Interlodge is a restriction on outdoor travel and activity ordered by the Alta Town Marshall. The Marshal's office, and/or Snowbird Safety, may require, at any time, that guests stay indoors until avalanche control and road danger is mitigated. Sometimes it involves the whole Alta/Snowbird area and sometimes just certain sections in the canyon. The Alta Town Marshall and Snowbird Safety work hard to keep everyone in the area safe with little disruption to outdoor recreation. These events are beyond our control in our winter playground. Usually, avalanche work commences in the early morning hours and is completed before the resorts open - but there are occasions when interlodge can be put into effect during the day and guests can be housebound for longer periods of time.

Pre Christmas stay

We had a fabulous stay before Christmas. The shuttle to Alta was easy. We had great days skiing and fun nights playing games and doing puzzles. The kitchen was well equipped with pots and pans.

Great place and location

We really enjoyed staying in this condo. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The location between Alta and Snowbird hills worked out really well for us. There was also a lot of space inside, which came in handy in the mornings and evenings. Spectacular views, too.

Less Stairs in Hellgate

I liked the fact this unit is on the same floor as the lockers and the office. The anteroom was a nice benefit. There were items left behind from other guests under the couch and the beds. The kitchen worked well. Overall we had a great stay.

POW days at Hellgate

Unit F is was comfortable and clean for us (5 guys) skiing for the week. Kitchen is a little small but fully functional and well equipped. Room location is perfect because it is right near the entrance so only one flight of stairs to get out. Just put your ski boots on and jump on the shuttle. Plenty of space for 5 people. Unit F has an old school vibe with lots of retro ski pictures on the walls. Shuttle service services other complexes so it requires some patience but the drivers are very friendly and accommodating. The decor is a little dated but the rate was also less than other condos in the area. View from the kitchen and dinning area is amazing. Convenient ski lockers right at front entrance so you don’t need to lug your gear around. We would definitely recommend this unit to any hard core skiers who don’t need granite countertops and chandeliers.

Better than advertised.

Hellgate Unit F was fantastic! My only worry going in was the reliability of the shuttle service, but it turned out to be outstanding. The shuttle would usually arrive withing 5 minutes of our phone call, and it takes less than 5 minutes to get to either Alta or Snowbird from Hellgate. Drop-offs for us were at the top of Chickadee at Snowbird and at the bottom of Collins at Alta (but I think you can also get dropped at Sunnyside). At the end-of-day busy times it might take ~15 minutes to arrive sometimes, but I was thrilled that we could shuttle home for lunch and get back to the slopes quickly after a mid-day break. People have mentioned the stairs, so I will clarify. Unit F is right by the office. From the shuttle drop-off, everyone at Hellgate has to descend two short flights of covered stairs to get to the main entrance where there is an office and ski lockers. Unit F and several others have their doors here. When you enter Unit F, you immediately climb stairs up 1 floor to get to a big open room where you can shed gear. From there, you enter the condo that shows up in the pictures. So, in addition to the ski locker by the office, there is also a huge room where you can store all of your gear (jackets, bibs, helmets) outside of the main unit. That was great for us, and the stairs were not an issue at all. As far as the skiing, even in a VERY low-snow 2020-2021 early season trip for the week of New Years, most everything was open. Getting back and forth from Alta to Snowbird through Mineral Basin was easy. The snow was good. Lines were much shorter at Snowbird (except for the Mineral Basin Express lift). Both live up to their reputation of being advanced resorts, but my (very experienced) 10-year-old daughter was still able to go just about everywhere. An intermediate skier at Alta/Bird might find there is not enough to ski for a week... and some of the blues are pretty steep. Finally, the views from this place are amazing. We could watch adventurous skiers/boarders climb Mt. Superior every morning and leave tracks in some pretty remarkable lines. The dining room window is huge and has the best views I have ever had from a ski condo. Whole process was very easy. Garage parking was nice. Getting into town for forgotten groceries wasn't bad (20 min each way). It's probably best categorized as "rustic" and definitely has some quirks, but it was perfect for us and we will definitely try to come back if it's available for a future trip.

Perfect location for a summer wedding weekend

Three of us stayed at Hellgate Condos to attend a wedding at the Cliff Lodge. The location is perfect - we were easy walking distance from the events at Snowbird and also the trails at Alta. The canyon road was unexpectedly closed by landslides for the 24 hours prior to our arrival. Luckily, the road opened for a 30 minute window the day before the wedding and we were able to get up the canyon. Given the unexpected closure, I was pleasantly surprised to find that everything was clean and ready for us. The manager was very accommodating and helpful.

There are A LOT of stairs. Great location snowbird!

Condo was very convenient for spending prime at snow bird. We were very comfortable. When we had an issue in the middle of the night, the manager came right over, no problem and helped as much as he could.
