The view and deck are amazing!!! The house is outdated, kind of dirty…I don’t think they hire a cleaning service in between visitors or come clean it themselves, they state you are supposed to vacuum/mop and clean the place prior to leaving. Sheets had stains on them, rugs had dirt all over them, showers are moldy but not bad.
The ceiling was leaking while we were there, my husband said it looks like it’s been leaking a while. the tablecloth was filthy, I took it off and washed it.
We enjoyed ourselves but wish it was a bit cleaner in there, we didn’t use the upstairs so can’t comment on that, my 6 year old was too scared to go up there alone.

Disappointed that the hot tub was not usable based on being dirty.
We absolutely loved your home!! The views are wonderful and there was nothing we needed that wasn't available. The hot tub worked fine and we enjoyed it. However there were 2 jets on the railing and 2 came out while it was in use. We were unable to keep them screwed in. Just a heads-up up in case it continues. But we absolutely loved our stay and definitely will be back! There was sheets and towels already in the dryer so we left those there also. The dishwasher was clean but full. We emptied that and reran it last night and left it as it was. Thank you so much!
The cabin was very nice and cozy. The river was close and offered fishing and relaxation. The mountain views were breathtaking and certainly helped us enjoy our stay. The town of Luray was fairly close and many attractions were less than 15 minute drive from the house.
Everything was great. The ONLY thing was the trash removal instructions for when we left. They gave directions on the paper in the kitchen but it was WRONG. The paper said turn LEFT and it was RIGHT. Also is was SIX miles away. So we were gone about 45 minutes to dispose of ONE trash bag.
We had a wonderful long weekend in Luray. We picked this property for its proximity to the river, which did not disappoint. The house is part of a small community and situated on a hillside (don't worry, you are 100% private and tucked off where you cannot see any other houses...just some cows) that maintains access down the hill to the river. You can either walk down from the house (walk is steep but I managed it no problem at 7months pregnant) or you can drive .4 miles to another entrance point. We happened to be there when the river was super high, but the neighbors we chatted with said that typically you can sit on a chair and read a book in the middle of the river. There is a great spot a little bit up the road where you can put a kayak and head down the river back to the house.
The house itself is nothing fancy, but definitely fit the bill. One bedroom is on the first floor and the other two are upstairs. The mattresses were a solid "B". There is plenty of seating around the first floor for reading books and hanging out, and there is plenty of dining seating if you had a large group. The kitchen is basic but functions. We always bring the basics tools (sharp knife, nice pan, etc) but they were generally well-stocked on cooking essentials.
The hot tub was nice, the decks are delightful. The firepit also perfectly hit the spot (bring cash with you and you can pick up firewood for sale along the road to the house). The views were delightful. If you are able, I would bring your favorite camping chair since some of the outdoor furniture was on the older end. They work, but I'd have been more comfortable in my favorite camping chair.
Great spot for a long weekend.
