*WELCOME PACK WITH OUR WINES'

Vineyard Tour: If all the times in visiting the Dordogne you have never ventured into a vineyard to see how it is all done, then this is the place for you. We will show you around the property explaining all the work that takes place on the vineyard and looking after the vines. You will then be given a tour of the 'chai' where the wine is made. Then of course you can have a tasting session to sample all our wines.

If you are lucky to be here at harvest time you will see exactly what happens. We pick a large quantity of our grapes by hand and then prepare them before they get placed in to the chai, where all the magic happens. If you are here when we are machine harvesting it can be arranged for you to ride on the vendange machine with our driver Bertron and see how it is all done. It is a very busy and tiring time of year, but guaranteed to be alot of fun too.

Lac du Gurson: The Lac du Gurson, is a wonderful place to spend long lazy sunny days. The main lake with its own beach is life guarded during the main summer months and it is excellent for the children with its shallow waters. Around the lake you can find the water shute, bars, restaurants, pedalos and horse-riding. There is a 2nd fishing lake also in the complex.

Activities: There are so many activities readily available in this area of the Dordogne including, Golf, canoeing, Horse-riding, paint-balling, go karting and there is a recently opened wonderful play centre in Bergerac. We will be of course on hand to help you (if needed) if any booking of such activities.

Wonderful gite in the peaceful Dordogne
We had such a lovely stay at The Vine House. Everything was as listed and Robin and Sasha were fabulous hosts… around if we needed, but left to ourselves to have fun in the pool, boules, cricket and sunbathing. The gite is well-equipped and rooms are really spacious. The outdoor dining area is lovely for long lunches and dinners. Villefranche is a few minutes drive and the boulangerie has great croissants and baguettes. We were there every day! There’s plenty to do locally and thanks to Robin and Sasha for arranging a vineyard tour with their friend Lucien. Nothing to report for the negative… Robin and Sasha clearly know what they’re doing! Best wishes and good luck with the new gite also.

Clean and well equipped gite
Very clean, neat and well equipped gite. We stayed in October so couldn't use pool, but we probably wouldn't have anyway as it wasn't very private from the winery work area when it is being used. Nevertheless it was very quiet and peaceful (despite the grape pressing going on!). Good hosts who are on hand but not in your face, with the added bonus of good wine to buy on your doorstep!

Lovely gite with private pool
Really lovely gite with a great private pool. Set on a vineyard next to the English owners' house. Rural views - some minor road noise. Very clean and decorated to a high standard with all you could want for a relaxing stay. Kitchen very well equipped to cater for a family. Comfy beds and fans available if hot.

Peace and quiet amongst the vines.
This is a wonderfully peaceful and secluded spot to enjoy a family break. The accommodation has plenty of space for a family of 4 with two older teenagers. We particularly enjoyed the sitting out areas - with one perfect for breakfast and lunch and one at the back where you can have dinner and watch the sun set. Our hosts Sasha and Robin were there whenever we needed them, but were also very happy to leave us in peace and quiet when all was fine. They also left us a wonderful welcome basket including a couple of bottles of their very drinkable wine. Many thanks again!

Beautiful location, amazing stay!
We’ve just returned from a great week away in the sunshine at Sasha & Robin’s place! It was clean, tidy and had all the facilities we needed for our stay. Everything was as described online. Sasha & Robin were the perfect hosts and couldn’t do enough for us - even providing us with a wine tasting tour! The Gite is set in a beautiful, remote location with amazing views. The Lac De Gurson is definitely worth a visit as is the local Friday night market. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here and would recommend to anyone to go and stay!

This is a beautiful villa in a lovely setting
Sasha and Robin have been extremely welcoming and helpful from the initial booking and answering questions to ensuring we had a comfortable stay. The welcome pack, including wine got us off to a good start, and the pets (especially Clint the cat) made us feel very at home. The tour of the vineyard was really interesting and we got to taste more of the wines which we highly recommend. We enjoyed touring the majestic vineyard landscape and relaxing by the pool. This is one of the best villas my family of 5 have stayed in and highly recommended.

Super spot
We stayed in Sept 2017 The gite is fantastic, and well appointed with all the mod cons , simply everything you need. Sasha and Robin met us on arrival with a lovely welcome pack , just what we needed and a super surprise. The place is clean and very tidy. Loved the chickens and the dogs who just seem to know the right time to appear. It’s a pity we didn’t have better weather and that’s the only gripe we had. I must say this is a great base to visit and see the surrounding towns countryside chateaus and in travelling distance to Cognac, Perigeaux St Emillion and also Bordeaux all which we did during outr short visit. Highly recommended many thanks.

Tranquility and an ideal setting to completely relax
We relaxed the minute we arrived at The Vine House. A warm friendly welcome from Sacha and the dogs and we knew we had made a great choice to stay at this wonderful gite. We got into the pool on day 2 after settling in and Robin gave us a tour of the winery. We had already tasted his red and rose which were in our welcome pack and we had no hesitation in buying some more. The gite has everything you need and there is always something to watch whilst you relax as the dogs, cats and rooster and his ladies all keep you entertained. Sacha and Robin were most helpful advising on the best markets and we had a lovely evening at the night market festival in Villefranche de Lonchat on the Friday night. The café in the village had a good value lunch whilst the evening mean in the hotel L'un des sens was excellent. The Lac du Gursan was great for walking round but we do recommend visits to St Emillion, Bergerac, Perigueux, St Jean, Brantome, and of the course Bordeaux Hope to go back and recommend to anyone looking for a tranquil base to explore the region.

Beauregard, 'beau' in every way!
After a long and tiresome ride we were welcomed by Sasha's smile. At once we felt at home. Robin came to check whether we were okay. And we felt safe. Wonderful hosts who had provided us with a starting packet of food, including their own wine!We could always address them, they were there, modest and helpful. Wallace, the dog, completed the friendly atmosphere. How free we were in 'our' Vine House, how deeply we could breathe among the fields. How we enjoyed the clean pool, the wide garden, the healthy environment, the gorgeous skies, the cosy villages and glorious cities in the region. While other tourists suffered from a cold and rainy France, we lived in a kind of micro climate between two rivers that drove the clouds away, so Robin explained. We ate outside, barbecued, swam, went sightseeing or just read a book under a blue sky. THE place to be, obviously! On the domain we visited 'le chai' (the winery) where Robin told us all about wine-making. And we tasted the owners' marvellous wines. Our stay at the Vine House offered more than the description promised. A clean and well-equipped gite, the friendliest hosts, a unique nature and culture, peace and quiet. Everything highly recommendable. Thanks, Sasha and Robin!

Amazing and genuinely relaxing holiday
From the moment we arrived this fabulous Gite continually exceeded our expectations. The views from the property were wonderful. Sasha and Robin were welcoming, helpful and great fun but never in your way. The Gite was well equipped and just the right amount of style and homeliness - a home from home. The friends we shared the Gite with were a little worried as they had a difficult special needs adult son. He was not only welcomed but was able to work with Robin in the vineyard - which he thoroughly enjoyed. We arrived as clients and left as friends. What a wonderful place to spend our holiday - thank you Sasha, Robin and family.

Wow! Great property, location and hosts
Sasha and Robin are great hosts, the property is well maintained and equipped. The pool made the holiday but the children (10 and 7) also enjoyed lizard spotting, egg collecting (and eating) and the walk through the woods with the dogs. The adults enjoyed the peace and quiet, the local area - pretty towns and villages, the local food and especially the local wine. We hope to go back soon and would recommend this Gite! Thank you.

wonderful holiday home
we spent a great family vacation in Sasha & Robin's "Vine House" this last august. The house fits 7 persons at ease. It is a beautiful house, fully furnished and stocked with all necessary items, very comfortable and relaxing. With green fields all around, nice view and good wine, we spent a wonderful week in the area, visiting nearby Bordeaux and St. Emilion. The main dordogne attractions are a little far, but a nice canooe ride is only a half hour drive away and we managed to visit places like lascaux, domme and padirac. The ruffler's hospitality was fantastic, and our children soon became friends and played together throughout our stay. Robin's guided tour of his winery was also a highlight. All in all, we highly recommend this holiday home for future visitors to the area!

Great Holiday - Exactly As Promised
With spacious, clean and well equipped accommodation (the free wifi and satellite TV were a big hit with our 16 and 13 year old's) this house provides an excellent base to explore this beautiful region. Particularly enjoyable & no more than 10 minutes drive away is the Lac du Gurson which has a small beach surrounded by woods. A little further away (approx 30mins drive) at the Grand E'tang de Jermaye there is a larger beach with free canoes and a diving pontoon. Neither beach ever seemed overcrowded and both have lifeguards, picnic areas and small cafes. St Emilion is an easy drive as are many of the Dordognes other attractions. The food pack (and the wine!!) was much appreciated after a long drive. Sasha and Robin are very welcoming hosts, always helpful without ever being intrusive and a mine of information on the locality. Altogether an excellent holiday. Roberts Family Surrey

Relax at The Vine House, explore the area.
We have stayed at The Vine house twice 2010 and 2011. We have been made to feel so welcome by Sasha, Robin and the children. the setting is beautiful very tranquil, wonderful sun sets and sun rises over the vineyard. There is no light polution so the sky at night is spectacular. The geographical position is ideal for exploring the SW of France. There are many places to visit, some just a ten or fifteen minute drive away or others an enjoyable day trip. During our stays we have visited Bordeaux, Bergerac, St Emilion ( A World heritage site), La Reole, Arcachon and the Dune du Pilat, Agen, Perigore, Sauveterre de Guyenne, to name but a few. the Gite is very clean and well appointed . A kitchen that is very practical to use and the beds are very comfortable. there are two terraces one for the morning sun and one for the afternnon sun and to sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down! Do visit you will not regret it !

August 2010
From the moment we arrived the atmosphere and environment at the Vine House was a pleasure. The Ruffler family and their two lovely dogs (Wallace & Maisie) greet you and you are made to feel instantly welcome, there is a lovely balance of having the owners nearby for advice should you wish and also the advantage of privacy and independence, which the Ruffler family are mindful of too. We also received a welcome pack (including some of their lovely wine) which indicates that Sasha and Robin want you to feel at home in their gite, it’s the little extras that add to the beautiful surroundings. The gite was clean, comfortable and offers the conveniences of home. In addition there are ample activities within easy reach such as: canoeing along the Dordogne, beaches by lakes (lac de Gurson & grand etang de Jemaye), Dune de la pyla (huge sand dune), water park at Arachon and also sightseeing around Saint Emillion and Bergerac etc. This is a different type of holiday to the usual pool/beach holiday and one our family would thoroughly recommend, as it combines soaking up the glorious sunshine, activities and culture, so much so that we look forward to exploring more of France in the near future.

Home from Home
We had a delightful stay at Beauregard! The owners Sasha and Robin made us feel extremely welcome and were incredibly helpful sharing local knowledge and lending us CDs as we'd forgotten all our music! The gite is nicely appointed. We enjoyed cooking meals in the well equipped kitchen and watching the sun go down on the back verandah. We have a small baby and Sasha provided us with a cot, baby bath, change mat etc which made travelling with her easy. It is a great base for exploring some of the local famous wine country. St Emilion is only 15 mins through the back roads and vinyards and it became a real favourite outing of ours...

Relaxing, spacious, friendly family vacation!
We spent two weeks at this wonderful Gite this summer (2010). We were pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the owners treated us in our email communication before we arrived in France. Deposit & Payment were easy. They were extremely helpful and made available child booster seat, crib, and high chair for our kids - a bonus for us trying to save space in our car on the drive down from Germany. We were met by their great dogs, maisy and wallace, and a smiling face of the owner! Sasha showed us the house, that was very clean, spacious and ready for us to settle right in. We enjoyed a great welcome basket including some of their own wine - all of which we enjoyed! For our family with 2 kids (1 & 3 years old) & a dog this one level vacation home was perfect. The kids could play inside and out on the great Terrace & on the nice lawn. They also spent time playing with the owners Children, 2 dogs and their precious kitten Ron (a blessing we were not expecting!). We enjoyed relaxing, quiet days and evenings, beautiful sunsets, watching the meteor showers on the lawn chairs, and visiting the sites in the surrounding villages and towns. Just driving through the country side and seeing the Vineyards was amazing. We also had nice conversations with the generous and kind owners and felt at home right away. A great bonus was the nice lake 5 minutes away. It had a great sandy beach and nice water for swimming. It was again perfect for our kids to practice swimming and for getting out their energy! At the lake there was a nice "restaurant/bar" for having a meal or a drink while at the lake. You'll not want to pass up on the lake if you visit in the summer! We also enjoyed walking through the Vineyards and appreciated the personal Tour of the Winery and learning more about all the hard work that goes into making wine. Thanks Robin! It was also nice for us that the spacious house had comfortable beds, great linens, a well equipped kitchen for cooking, and the owners had a plentiful DVD library at our disposal. The online description meets up to what you will experience if you visit this charming home in a beautiful area of France. We hope to be able to visit again soon.
