Quiet Beachfront Large Family Estate... Great for multiple families . Sleeps 12

Located in central Kihei, nestled on the northern end of beautiful Halama Street. Family-owned and operated legal short-term rental. There are two dwellings on this beach front property - an apartment building with four units and a detached 2 BR/1BA cottage. The apartment building (ocean front) and the cottage (mountain view) are rented our separately. This listing, #775190, is for the apartment building only. Outside gas grills, tables, and lounge chairs are available for all guests to enjoy on the grassy lawn area fronting the ocean. Less than a one-minute walk will take you to a large spacious green lawn with swaying coconut palm trees and to a seemingly private sandy beach. Swim with the turtles or choose from the many types of possible ocean activities. Ocean equipment is available at the numerous rental shops in town. Enjoy nearby parks, tennis, gymnasium, public pool, surfing lessons and much more. In the heart of Kihei near banks, shopping, dining and many activities, but still very private! Once you are here, you will see why it’s called Al’s Paradise. Stairs are necessary to access the apartment building, cottage, backyard and beach area. The two-story apartment building consists of Unit #1-4 as follows:

Unit #2: First Floor, 1 BR 1 BA
Unit #3: Second Floor, 2 BR 1 BA
Unit #4: Second Floor, 1 BR 1BA
* We only rent out Unit #1-#4 as a whole, and not separately. Units 3 & 4 units are connected by a locked door that guests can open during their stay (great if you want to watch over your kids or teenagers) or it can be locked completely to allow no access. Each unit has its own entrance door from the outside. All units in the apartment are beach front. Got more guests?? Or you just want more privacy? The Best Week Ever!
We live in Kihei and had our families visit from the east coast. It was the PERFECT house to have multiple family members stay in as there are separate entrances and spaces. Everyone had the most amazing time. You cannot beat the location or view. Truly it made our celebration week once in a lifetime and we wouldn’t change a thing!!! Wish we could do it every year!

40th Anniversary Celebration
Met and exceeded our expectations in all ways. All 14 of us could not say enough. Michael was available, informative but not overbearing. He also provided fishing, snorkeling gear, water shoes, and backyard toys. Even expressed old Hawaiian hospitality by bringing enough fresh fruit to treat all of us. We hated to leave can't wait to go back.

Beach Family Celebration
The grounds and the beach access was amazing! Our four families each had lots of outdoor space for hanging out together, and the luxury of privacy in our own separate space when needed. The host, Michael, was gracious and available. I would absolutely stay here again. Mahalo, Michael.

Wonderful family vacation and celebration
14 of us, four generations, spent a fabulous week celebrating our 60th anniversary. Started off a bit rocky when one unit’s AC died, but our host Mike managed to get it repaired within a couple of days. Family members spent the week, swimming with turtles, fishing, golfing, paddle boarding, playing volleyball, pétanque, corn hole toss and rummikub. A monk seal spent a rare couple days on our beach along with a giant turtle. We spent every morning and most dinners together, on site, enjoying the beautiful sunsets. Mike was a wonderful host, with a wealth of knowledge. He even surprised us with stick donuts one day. We will cherish these memories and hope to return to this happy place in the near future.

Beautiful Property, Great Host
The property was gorgeous, tucked back into a quiet corner of the neighborhood, and just feet from a beautiful beach. All of the rooms were well furnished, and provided ample space for our family to stay. We highly recommended the property for large families, or groups of friends, and are looking forward to the next chance we can visit again.

The property is very comfortable, clean and in a prime location right on the beach (including turtles). Mike is a phenomenal host: very accommodating, gracious and generous (surprised us with two pies from a local spot and wine and sparkling wine to help us celebrate our wedding). I would definitely recommend this property to any larger group.

Fantastic multi- generational family location!

Nice place on the beach
We really enjoyed our stay in Kihei. We thought we were seeing Sea Otters right off the beach but I think they were Monk Seals. There were also sea turtles right off our beach too. Michael was very helpful and brought what ever we thought about. The place is a little dated but the kitchens have all been remodeled. Beds were comfortable. Check in and check out painless. Just a code for the doors and take out trash.

MUST STAY IN MAUI!!!
My family and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property and our host Maui Mike! From the moment we stepped foot on the lawn-it is absolutely breathtaking. We had a large family group and the accommodations were superb! We had breakfast and dinner on the lawn most days. Lots of chairs, water shoes, snorkeling gear etc. Mike came by with stories, fruit, pastries-it was such a welcome treat. Also always willing to give a recommendation or help. The town itself is super fun with lots of restaurants, shops and of course shaved ice. We hope to come back here again and again! Maholo Mike!

Two Families and One Memorial
Michael's place was perfect for our 3 families to meet/visit. Lots of sleeping space and the ability to share living spaces was perfect. One family of father, two children, spouses and their children fulfilled their mother's wish by bringing their memories and holding a beachside memorial ceremony so their Mom could visit her 50th state in spirit!

Another great stay!
This is our second time to stay here, and it was just as enjoyable as the first! We are a family of 15, eight adults and seven children. There was plenty of room for all of us. The building was 2-one bedroom condos, and 2- two bedroom condos that have been interconnected so it’s perfect for our four families. The great yard that goes all the way to the beach was perfect for the kids and adults alike. Michael is a great host and is easy to reach anytime. We’re definitely coming back!

Beautiful lawn, beach and sunsets
Property is well kept and maintained. We especially enjoyed lounging in front of the units while watching the waves and enjoying the ambience of the surroundings. We had three families for a total of 11 and all thoroughly enjoyed the facilities, especially playing on the beach and walking the beach at sunset. The time went too quickly! Wish we were still there.

Family Vacation
This place is great for a family vacation. Beautiful sunset every evening. Huge backyard for the family to run around and burn energy or just relax by the beach. When Michael says that the sea turtles come up every night to the beach, he's telling the truth! Michael makes himself available if you need something or just a guide for local favorites. Multi generational family vacation
Very child friendly! Backyard is amazing! Our host Mike knows Maui like a native, because he is. He’s very friendly, accessible, while giving us our space. If you’re looking for Island Chill while having vibrant locations close by, it’d be tough finding a better place!

Al’s six children were born in the islands and raised on Maui where they grew up on Halama Street. The beach was their backyard where they learned to swim, fish, dive, and surf. They picked and ate the ogo (seaweed) that washed upon the beach and also spent hours picking various shells and the famous puka shells for handmade necklaces. At night it was campouts, sand crab hunting on the beach, or star gazing at the star filled sky above. We attended the one and only schools nearby, Kihei Elementary School. There were only two small family owned stores back then throughout kihei area. Much has changed since then, but this hidden gem at Halama Street will forever hold fond memories. Aloha and Mahalo Nui! Al’s Paradise.

Over the years, Kihei has grown to be very populated with homes, condos, vacation rentals, and resorts. There are longtime residents and visitors from all around the world who enjoy the Kihei surroundings. There are many beaches, parks, restaurants and shopping establishments throughout Kihei. Al’s Paradise is located on Halama Street; in a cozy, peaceful and quiet area hidden from the hustle and bustle of busy Kihei. It is also very close to all that Maui has to offer.

What makes this property unique

The beach is right in your backyard for you to enjoy whether it’s early morning and/or evening walks, shell hunting, swimming, snorkeling, kayak stand up paddle, shell picking, and many other water activities. The sunsets are spectacular, and you may even see the sun rise over Haleakala on clear mornings. At the end of a Maui filled day avoid the high tourist areas, the crowds and come home your own little piece of paradise... and enjoy the breath taking sunsets....
