Things to Do:
We have a guest book in the condo but a ride over to Jekyll Island certainly is a 'must do'. They have a sea turtle rehabilitation center. Not sure about Driftwood beach. It got hit pretty hard by one of the hurricanes that came through and we have not been over to Jekyll lately. Driftwood Bistro is my sister's favorite restaurant and is on Jekyll island (I think it's good too).

Cumberland Island is also extremely interesting to visit. You have to make a reservation to ride the boat over. It is a bit of a drive from SSI but well worth it. They have wild horses and other wildlife. Also some really rich family used to own the island. Think it was the Carnegies. I would recommend you take the guided tour. It is a little pricey but so interesting.

Deep sea fishing - lots of charters that you can catch at the marina or the pier (we have not done this though).

Downtown Brunswick. Lots of cute restaurants and shops and they have made a bunch of films there. Very interesting.

Finally, the Island is very fun to explore. You may just decide to stay on the Island to be quite honest.

You can feel exactly at home here

This property is very comfortable, including the beds. The kitchen is well appointed so that you can cook most anything you like. Love the convenience of on-site washer/dryer. We had a challenge with the former, but the host responded promptly to communication and we worked through it. Loved having a sweeper since it is hard to fight the sand otherwise. The beach is so close we were there every day - rain or shine. Ocean Walk is a terrific complex and the location of this property on "the green" means away from the roadway. And yet, there is parking to the side that can be quite convenient. The deck faces south, so good sun with a view of the pond across the green. Quite delightful. Close to the clubhouse, both pools, and trash recepticle; very convenient. We hope to be back again.

Beautiful Condo in Great Location

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it. It's just a short drive from town and the beach. On a side note, the mattresses are very comfortable to sleep in unlike many other rental places we've stayed.

Short vacation

This was our second visit to this unit. It is clean and well stocked. Ocean Walk is convenient to the Village and the beach. We had a great 3 night stay and hope to visit again!

Great Condo

This condo made for a very enjoyable week. Kitchen had everything that we needed to cook. Thank you, (because some kitchens are a little sparse) Beds were comfy and towels were great. Biggest thing always though is cleanliness and this unit was clean. Thank you for making this unit available to rent - we had a great time.

Nice place. Furniture was a little dated in the living room. Very comfortable beds. It would also have been helpful to know it was on the 2nd floor with no elevator. Great location with easy drive to shopping, restaurants and the beach. Really enjoyed the pool.

Stayed April 15-May 3. wonderful area to be in. The condo was perfect! Very well stocked with anything you might need . The owners were very helpful and pleasant to work with. . Pet friendly area.. walking distance to pier. Lots of shops to see. Restaurants were fabulous. Beautiful beaches! Would stay again when in area! A must stay place ! Thank you for having us! Great location. 10 min walk to town. 5 min drive to Massingale Beach. Access to rest of island requires a car but bicycles are rentable. SSI has always been a favourite for us and we are still big fans.

Wonderful place to stay

The unit was clean, well stocked and in a great location. Communication from the owner was fabulous. It is a short drive to the beach and the village and many restaurants are within walking distance. We had a great time!

Awesome

The house was very convenient to the downtown area. There is a nice dog park not to far away and we walked several times to the beach area for exercise. We had fun finding the tree spirits some being close by. The beds were comfortable after all the walking we did and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony. The complex is super quiet during the evening and active during the daytime. There were always someone fishing in the pond and we enjoyed the fitness center, pingpong tables and swings. The heated pool is cut of May 1 and because of the cold start to summer that was quite chilly so we really didn't get to use the pools much but they looked nice. The place was super convenient to the whole island. It was very easy to go wherever we wanted to explore. I would definitely stay here again.

I'm Beth Douglas and this is my husband Bill Douglas. We love St. Simons Island. I manage our 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo and am just really starting to get to know everything that the Island has to offer. We bought our condo unfurnished and I have had a lot of fun fixing it up. I think we both thought we had lost our minds though when we were trying to carry a king size mattress up a flight of stairs at 3:00 in the morning!! That was no fun to say the least. We figure if we can get a king mattress up 1 flight of stairs, we can overcome just about any challenge. We are still married (no divorce) believe it or not and we are both still alive (did not kill each other) so maybe that speaks to the tenacity of our marriage or perhaps to our intelligence...I am not sure which. We look forward to being able to enjoy many happy vacations at SSI and hope that you will too.

Why they chose this property

I also manage my family's property at Lake Burton: vrbo #407890. My father is elderly so I have taken over with the help of my sister and brother. I do the rentals and any money we make goes back into the property. My brother and sister help with managing projects, etc. I have really enjoyed interacting with my renters and our repeat rentals have grown from year to year. This year, as I believe a kind of act of love to me, my husband along with my support, decided to purchase an investment property on St. Simon's Island. I would try to rent and manage it since I liked doing the Lake property so much. We looked at many properties but settled on Ocean Walk because of location mainly and then the amenities. I also liked our unit because it has tile in the living area and granite in the kitchen and bathrooms, bead board in several of the rooms, and other details that made it special. I hope you will do me the pleasure of coming to stay at BB's Beach Bliss. BB is what my niece calls me. She is 14 now but is very dear to my heart and it also stands for Bill and Beth. Seemed perfect.

I don't mind providing a variety of games, small touches such as cotton balls, Q-tips, hair dryers, some beach items, etc. I also am open to suggestions from my renters.
