About this property

Welcome to our home! We have been traveling to Mazatlan for over 25 years and it had always been our dream to someday own and eventually retire and live in Mazatlan. We decided to purchase at the Costa Bonita in 1999 because of its location and fantastic beach. The wonderful thing about the beach is that when the tide is down it is flat, and there are no rocks or kelp. It is great for those who like to look for shells and sand dollars. All the units at the Costa Bonita are privately owned so you won’t find all of the ‘resort-type’ amenities like Para-sailing and sailboat rentals. These activities can be found at other locations nearby and the concierge can make booking for you. The tradeoff for not being in a hotel, timeshare, resort, is the quiet, un-crowded, peaceful beach!

You will find our recently remodeled unit with central air conditioning very accommodating and comfortable. If you prefer the ocean breeze and the sound of ocean waves, leave the windows and patio door open as they are all screened. The kitchen has all the amenities you will need with all new Frigidaire stainless steel appliances. The kitchen is equipped with everything you’ll need; Chef’s classic nonstick 11-piece Cuisinart Cookware Set – Ice Maker, coffee maker, toaster, blender, dishes, utensils. The water in our condo is filtered/purified so you can drink it right out of the tap. Our 2 bedrooms, 2 bath condo accommodates 4 very comfortably and is furnished with a King bed in the master and a Queen bed in the guest bedroom. Both bedrooms are furnished with new pillow top mattress and new pillows. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV connected via satellite with 42 channels. The bedrooms also have ceiling fans, in addition there is an osculating fan in each bedroom. After a long day at the beach, you can relax on the reclining leather couch and rocking recliner chair when watching the 55” flat screen SMART TV with surround sound. We also have a library of DVD’s and games. If you bring your computer, you can connect it directly to internet using a Ethernet cable otherwise wireless WiFi is available in our condo and throughout the resort. There is also a wall safe in the condo for your use. Laundry facilities are available on the 4th floor, equipped with token operated washers and dryers. Tokens can be purchased at the front lobby desk.

When sitting on our patio you will be able to enjoy the view from the 3rd floor overlooking the pool and enjoying the view of the ocean. If you are lucky, you may see dolphins or porpoise. Because of the location of our condo, you will be enjoying a beautiful sunset nightly so be sure to have your camera.

Amazing sunsets

The condo fit all our needs. We did some cooking, ate at the restaurant and also went downtown. The best is when you can play at the beach and the condo is so close. Loved the quiet evenings and being able to watch the beautiful sunsets.

The property was good and clean the resort was very nice. The room needs some updating . furniture in the living room needs to be upgraded. The A/C is very very loud when it comes on. The people that work in the resort are great.

Wonderful stay!

This condo has everything needed for a relaxing vacation! Great view of pool and ocean. Cerritos beach is always our favorite area to stay.The Costa Bonita staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food and beverages are tasty and reasonably priced. We had no difficulty finding lounge chairs at the beach or pool, even during the busy holiday week. There are several shops and restaurants in walking distance or transportation is easily accessed. We would not hesitate to rent this unit again.

Another lovely Christmas in Mexico

Once again, Costa Bonita has exceeded our expectations. We look forward to spending our Christmas holiday here every year, and we’re lucky enough to enjoy this condo for the second year in a row. The condo is clean and well equipped for a small family. The beach is wonderful, the onsite food is great, the staff is amazing and attentive, and the pool is warm. A Quiet Oasis with Fabulous Sunsets and Ocean View

Our two-week vacation at Costa Bonita in February 2021 was wonderful. The property was not too big, not too small with manicured landscaping; beautiful ponds with turtles, fish and birds; friendly staff; great food at the on-site restaurant/bar. The unit we stayed in was great with a balcony that has a patio with ledge where you can eat your meals, watch the sunsets and the ocean. The beach was sandy, no rocks; not crowded, and a great place to relax under the palapa. The convenience of taking a bus right in front of the resort to go anywhere, including downtown, was great. Overall we had a vacation we will fondly remember for a long time. Hope to visit again.

A Christmas favorite

We had a wonderful stay in Mazatlan. The condo was lovely and well furnished and suited our family’s needs. The property manager, Irma, was great to work with when we had a problem with the water heater. It was nice to have access to an on-site laundry room as well. We enjoyed the heated pool on site every day. The amenities at the complex are fantastic, including Leo, the security guard, who is always quick to get you a chair. We definitely hope to be back in the future!

Renters vs Owners

This was our 2nd visit, different dates. The first week we were there was excellent, peaceful, so relaxing. The 2nd week was a complete opposite, which was the week of Easter. Lots of renters and owners came to stay. Tons and tons of little screaming, sand throwing, kids. It was clear to us, being renters, that the owners had a different set of rules. Which we accepted. That aside, it would of been nice if they just would of contained their kids around the pool and not allowed the huge floaties/pool tools out of the deeper end of the pool for the adults to use. You couldn't swim, lay around the pool without kids running you over. Otherwise our 2 week stay was great. The staff is friendly, helpful and soon become your friend. We would like to go back, but will choose different dates.

Beautiful/Breathtaking

We really enjoyed our stay at Costa Bonita, so peaceful and relaxing, just what we were looking for, the condo was beautiful inside loved the way it was decorated, it had everything we needed, the Palapa restaurant downstairs was very convenient we would eat there almost every day the food was really good and the prices were also good, all of the staff were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Simply the Best!!

This was our second stay in this beautiful condo, we enjoyed it even more than our first visit (likely because we stayed longer). As far as our needs and taste, it couldn't be a better fit. The evening sunsets from the balcony are stunning. The pool and landscaping are immaculate, and the employees at the resort could not be more pleasant. The beds and living area furniture are very comfortable. Kitchen is as well appointed as any we've encountered in a vacation rental. It was another trouble free excellent stay, and we have already booked our vacation for next year.

A great place to enjoy the Mexican experience

We had a wonderful 8 night stay in Mazatlán. The entire trip was great but the location and quality of our condo was the best part. This.condo is of the highest quality and the staff are wonderful as is the food at the local palapa. Open air taxis can take you to other nearby restaurants for a few $$. Or ride the green bus into town for 11 pesos. A bus passes by every 15 minutes. A minimart is a 5 minute walk away on the main night toward town. The restaurant in the condo does not take credit cards. You have to deposit pesos in an account at the main desk and then meal and bar fees are charged against your deposit. No ATM available nearby so come prepared with pesos. Minimum deposit at desk is 1000 pesos. A little over $50 worth. You will love the stay. People, sun, beach and sea wonderful.

Simply beautiful!!

Our entire stay was just about perfect! How can you beat the beautiful view, vegging on the beach and swimming in the ocean and pool! The staff were so helpful, they made you feel like a good friend. The only issue we had was someone near us constantly smoked a cigar from 5 to 10 pm every day so we were not able to keep our patio door open, and other owners rent just for the weekend to families with several small children. As kids will be kids, the screaming and jumping in the pool became quite loud. But that was just for 3 days, then the quite returned. It was so handy having the restaurant right there. You could eat your meals in the outside dining area, or on the beach on a lounge chair. The food was great, and so were the prices. Overall, we loved it, and hope to rent again!

Beautiful condo and resort!

Costa Bonita is a beautiful resort and very well maintained. All of the staff are very friendly and so accommodating. The Palapa Bar and Restaurant has excellent food (and drinks)!! The condo has been completely remodeled and is beautiful. The kitchen has all of the cookware, dishes, and utensils you could possibly need. The master bedroom and second bedroom both have unbelievably comfortable mattresses. The master has an awesome walk-in closet with a safe, and a beautiful new master bath. Well stocked with all the linens you need plus lots of beach towels. Loved the peace and quiet of the complex and the beautiful sandy beach. Seems like you could walk forever! I might add the view from the condo is perfect - watched many beautiful sunsets right from our deck. In fact, we love it so much have already booked for next year. Jim and Kim are awesome to work with, as is Irma, and all of the Costa Bonita staff. Thanks to all of you for making this an amazing vacation!! Bill and Linda

Better than home!!!

This place is fantastic! The kitchen is remarkable in that it has every imaginable necessity, from plastic containers for leftovers to nonperishable foods and seasoning (and alcohol!) in the pantry. The appliances are new and the dishwasher is so quiet you can't even hear running. The furniture is comfortable and inviting. The televisions are big, get good reception, and there are plenty channels to choose from. Cleaning supplies and utensils are easily accessible, or you can hire someone if you are so inclined. Also remarkable was how quiet the complex is. No loud BINGO games, music or "rah-rah-let's do this" group activities. The other residents were kind, friendly, and inclusive The view from the balcony and the master bedroom couldn't be more perfect. We were there for a month, and if given the opportunity, we would stay there for six.

Looking to relax - you won't find better.

We left here wishing we could stay forever. Pleasant on every level. This resort, and this unit in particular, checks all the boxes. The condo could not be better appointed, or more comfortable. Everything is "top shelf". The resort staff is very conscientious and professional. The resort grounds are beautifully maintained, onsite restaurant/bar excellent and the beach is gorgeous. We will return.

The property has a wonderful heated pool along with reasonable food and drink prices available only to owners and their guests/renters. The property is gated and has 24 hour security.

Upon your arrival Irma or an employee of her staff will meet you at the Costa Bonita to provide you access to the condo.
Recently remodeled kitchen with new appliance - refrigerator with an icemaker, dishwasher. Purified Water right from the tap.
After a fun day on the beach or around the pool come back to the condo to enjoy the comfortable furniture relaxing on one of the recliners. Sit on the balcony and experience a wonderful view the sunset every evening.
You will sleep comfortably on the newly purchased pillow top mattress and pillows in both bedrooms.
This a gated community with 24 hour security and a very friendly staff. Very relaxing!
