About this property

HUGE Logan Martin Lake House

ATTENTION: We have an EV PLUG-30 AMP CIRCUIT!

Our Waterfront Lake Home, located near Woods Surfside Marina, is great for a large family or group. This is a 7 bedroom home on
Logan Martin Lake, with an Awesome two-story dock. There is a swing under a shaded area of the dock, then a large, open section of dock to lay out in the sun. The upper part of the dock has a place to eat and sit and gaze at the sunset, with a gate that opens out for a high dive. Award-winning bass fishing right off the private dock, and cleats on the side of the pier to tie off your boat if you bring it along. (We do have our own boat that stays in the boat slip, and cannot be moved). Our Lake Haven is perfect for a family, a large group, or a business retreat. Come enjoy beautiful Fall and Winter sunsets, as well as Spring and Summer lake life. Our lake home is 70% updated and remodeled. The upstairs portion of the house is older, and we like it that way! The kitchen has original wood cabinets with granite countertops along with a small island. It is quaint & full of charm!
There are many spices and oils in the cabinets as well as coffee, tea, and sweeteners . There are also some condiments that we leave in the fridge as well. There are many pots, pans, skillets, bowls and casserole dishes to cook with, along with a crock pot. There is a stove, a new fridge, a dishwasher, microwave, hand mixer, blender, toaster, and Mr.Coffee-type coffee maker. There is also a 2nd fridge out in the enclosed porch area for overflow use.
This home has a huge, partially enclosed 30x50 back porch with an awesome lake view. A small child's play/swing set is on the porch as well as a tables, chairs, rocking chairs, and a ping-pong table. (Bring extra ping pong balls!)
A "special" feature is that we have a toddler-sized bunk bed set downstairs for younger children, as well as a pack-n-play that is available for your use.
For Sleeping arrangements, there are a total of 4 king beds, 2 queen beds, 1 double bed, 1Twin bed, a set of toddler-sized bunk beds, and 2 fold down couches.
There are 3 bedrooms/2 baths on the upstairs Main floor level, and
4 bedrooms/4.5 baths on the lower level, The walk down to the upper pier is mostly a low slope walkway with no steps. There is no back yard grassy area to play in. My wife has a bad knee, and I built this lake walkway with her in mind to give her better access to view the lake.
There are approximately 8 "spaces" for parking in the front yard and one covered space in the carport, if you park strategically. The front yard is mostly gravel with some landscaped areas. (PARKING IS NOT ALLOWED anywhere outside of our property fenced area.)
There is a propane gas grill, a charcoal grill and a Green Egg outside the kitchen door for your use. Also in the bottom of the boat house is a small portable outdoor fire pit that you can use with wood or charcoal (make sure to use it on concrete or on the metal pier)
We have 4 Kayaks with paddles for your use. Please bring & wear a
life jacket.
We have a Washer & Dryer for your use. (Bring HG detergent)
There are 2 Roku TV's : one upstairs and one downstairs.
The Router is plugged in the kitchen on a side, open counter shelf.
The wifi code is on the router.

There are 4 bedrooms DOWNSTAIRS.
Room 4 has a King bed, and a private bath with a tub/shower combo. This room also has a small curtained-off area that has 2 kid-sized bunk beds and a twin bed.
Room 5 is the coldest room in the house! It has a Queen bed and a private bath with a tub/shower combo.
Room 6 is an end room and has a Queen bed. It also has a private bath with a large step-in shower that has 2 shower heads and a shower seat. This is also the bathroom that has a door to the outside.
Room 7 is the warmest room in the house! It has lots of windows with blinds and a view of the lake. It has a private bath with a step-in shower that has a moveable seat. This room also has a small portable AC unit in it.

LVIVING AREAS:
Upstairs there is an eat-in area in the kitchen with a table that seats
6-8. Adjoining the kitchen area is a large Great Room that has a long slender table that seats 8-10 at one end of the room, and a common Den area to relax and watch TV. Downstairs, there is a smaller Den area that has 3 fold-down type couches along with a TV.

PRIVATE AREAS: There is a detached private room that is on the top of the Boathouse, near the pier. THIS IS ONLY FOR THE OWNERS.
Occasionally, we, the owners, may need to stay in that room during your stay at the lake house. We will notify you AHEAD OF TIME via text Message if that ever becomes necessary.

The house is very large. The bedrooms were nicely decorated & were spacious (except the small one on the main level.) Bathrooms were a pleasant superise - nice showers, tubs and heated toilet seats, which were great during the cold weather. The living areas of the house were great! Well stocked kitchen with everything we needed. Two refeigerators were very handy. The closed in porch is wonderful - kids and grown ups loved spending time there. We even managed to prepare a full Thanksgiving dinner without any stress. The grocery store, gas stations & bait shops were close by. Kayaks were well maintained as was the pier & covered area . Life jackets were available in quite a few sizes. The views of the lake were breathtaking. Hosts were easy to reach, kind and very helpful. I wpuld definitely recommend this property to other families & friends (easily accommated 10 adults & 5 kids). Thank you hosts for allowing my family to stay at your Lake Haven!

Lake Access is the Key but House was so Accommodating as well

We came with just five but could have had extended family as well. All the "public space" is arranged to allow all a view to the lake and to feel like you are part of the action. Stuck with babies on the porch, no problem.....grandma wants to enjoy watching the kids jump off the deck, no problem........even if you have to wheel someone to the upper level dock you can. I'd not heard of this lake before, but it was fantastic - we brought our kayaks (Bill had two more) and spent all our time exploring/fishing the coves nearby. Bill gave us recommendations for nearby marina rentals, but the weather was iffy - so we just explored via paddle. Our teen girls spent all their time around and on the dock - sunning, lazing on the large floats, daring each other to jump from the top deck. Lake is very busy on the weekend, very quiet in the mornings and easier to traverse during the week. There are plenty of fish! I'm sure there are things to do in Cropwell, but with a pandemic we stayed put and our four days did not find us bored. Appeared to be good BBQ nearby, but went to nearby Publix and cooked here at the house. The place is well taken care of - kitchen well stocked. Only suggestions from us - adding screen to the porch would be awesome. Ping pong table is wonky. One of the kayak paddles was only a single side so difficult to cross the lake. We truly enjoyed this treasure, and hope to be back with extended family after the pandemic. Thanks for giving us an opportunity for this little getaway!

Family Thanksgiving

We were looking for a place to gather to celebrate Thanksgiving as a family and this place meet all our needs and more. We had ages 4 to 92 and everyone had a wonderful time. The porch got lots of use, the youngest group loved the swingset, everyone loved the table tennis and the porch swing was occupied most of the time. The paddle boards and kayaks were used everyday. We heard several times that this was their favorite and magical Thanksgiving. The owners were very responsive to our inquiries prior to our arrival and during our stay. Wonderful time, so many great memories made.

I would very much like to back and spend another wonderful occasion with my family

I booked this property for my daughter's wedding, as a place for my family to get together between the events. Everyone in our family just absolutely loved this wonderful lake house. Most of my family got into the water, swimming or kayaking. BTW, Mr. & Mrs. Slappey already have two kayaks at the property that are available for guests to use. The young ones (and the adults who are still adventurous) had so much fun jumping off the top pier. They were having so much fun that it was challenge to get them out of the water so we can get ready for the events of my daughter's wedding. Mr. Slappey came by to fix the internet and gave us a boat ride. It was very generous of him to do so and it was such a pleasurable experience for us. All in all, a great family experience enhanced by a great location!

It was fun fishing ofrom the docks we cought bass and crappy and swimming was a blast. My 12 yr old son and 10yr old grandson as well as all the adults had an absolute blast jumping from the upper dock platform We kayak into the lake and swam. We totally enjoyed ourselves and if we ever visit that part of BAMA again we'll do our best to rent this home again Thanks to the host

My wife and I have 6 grown children & 9 grandchildren. Our main priority and mission in life is making Jesus Christ known to all that we can. We partner together with other Gospel-centered ministers to support the translation of God's Word into the "heart language" of the unreached & unengaged people groups of the world. We love the movies Courageous and War Room by the Kendrix brothers. Stephen Curtis Chapman is one of our favorite singer/song writers. We love adventure and the awesomeness of God's great creation. We also like to camp, hike and travel. Our life motto is from Prov 3:5-6, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight". We hope we don't offend, but we do love Christ with all our hearts, and love to talk about Him to all who want to hear!.

Why they chose this property

You just can't find many places like this, where a big group or family (like ours!) can get together and just relax. It is so peaceful and beautiful...a lake haven.

What makes this property unique

We have this huge back porch area that over looks the lake. It is big enough to sit and relax and even eat on, while the kids playing around you as well. (We have a small swing set for young kids on the porch as well as a ping pong table). We also have 4 kayaks on a rack, down near the pier that are available for your use.
